But think about this, you go to the ER and they are giving you all sorts of tests and never tell you when you are going to be released till they release you. Some probably knew he was in there, but he probably assumed that those people would probably at least have informed the president...but they didn't. It was a mistake of judgement and also of proper communication. He may not have thought he was going to be as bad as he thought.
This....
And also, from what I've read, Austin went into the ER on Jan 1, a holiday, and was released on Jan 2.So, IDK, maybe we're hearing a lot of hyperbolic "what ifs" after the fact.

So then He's not in the ICU any longer ?
Apparently not? IDK
But I have to make a correction.
Trump is the latest one to join the chorus of people calling on Austin to resign after he was admitted to Walter Reed Medical Center's intensive care unit on January 1.
New information on the Defense Secretary's covert hospital stay was made public by the Pentagon, last week. It described how, on December 22, Austin-who is ranked second in military command only to the Commander-in-Chief-went through medical treatment and returned home the following day.
So, Austin was only in the hospital for 1 day, when he went on Dec 22. He went again on Jan 1, this time to the ICU, and I don't how long he stayed.
Also, it wasn't that the Pentagon didn't know, it's that the Pentagon didn't inform anyone else.
At least some circles in the Pentagon were aware of Austin’s situation earlier. The chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, Gen Charles “CQ” Brown, learned of the hospitalisation on Tuesday 2 January, one US official said.
The Pentagon’s failure to disclose Austin’s hospitalisation for days, including to Biden, the National Security Council and top Pentagon leaders, reflects a stunning lack of transparency about his illness, how serious it was and when he may be released. Such secrecy, when the US is juggling myriad national security crises, runs counter to normal practice with regards to notifying the president and other senior US officials and cabinet members.
www.theguardian.com...
What is the order of successors to the President?
The line of succession of cabinet officers is in the order of their agencies' creation.
Vice President.
Speaker of the House.
President Pro Tempore of the Senate.
Secretary of State.
Secretary of the Treasury.
Secretary of Defense.
Attorney General.
Secretary of the Interior.
Could be a botched suicide attempt too. Since Biden took over, military suicides skyrocketed.

Doesn't matter what he was diagnosed with.
Austin was AWOL...and endangered the security of the American people.
FIRE his ass! (No pun intended).

Think like a democrat for a second (just hit yourself in the head with a rock a few times)
Biden will not fire a black man during an election year.

Removal of the prostate is normally without complications. Maybe Austin let the disease become too advanced.
GOP needs to return their focus to Biden Impeachment and getting Menendez ejected.
