And is there any kind of investigation into who authorised military action in his absence because that seems like no small fish from my side of the pond!

I see only two reasons why someone as High Profile and Crucial as SOD Lloyd Austin would be in ICU for over a week and no one knows why and or the Press refuses to release the information.

1. AIDs aka HIV likely contracted from a secret Gay Sex life .

2. He was poisoned , I'm talking like some sort of Radioactive isotope Poisoned .

aside from these two reasons I've not a clue what the big secret is .

But think about this, you go to the ER and they are giving you all sorts of tests and never tell you when you are going to be released till they release you. Some probably knew he was in there, but he probably assumed that those people would probably at least have informed the president...but they didn't. It was a mistake of judgement and also of proper communication. He may not have thought he was going to be as bad as he thought.

And also, from what I've read, Austin went into the ER on Jan 1, a holiday, and was released on Jan 2. So, IDK, maybe we're hearing a lot of hyperbolic "what ifs" after the fact.

But I have to make a correction.

Trump is the latest one to join the chorus of people calling on Austin to resign after he was admitted to Walter Reed Medical Center's intensive care unit on January 1.

New information on the Defense Secretary's covert hospital stay was made public by the Pentagon, last week. It described how, on December 22, Austin-who is ranked second in military command only to the Commander-in-Chief-went through medical treatment and returned home the following day.

So, Austin was only in the hospital for 1 day, when he went on Dec 22. He went again on Jan 1, this time to the ICU, and I don't how long he stayed.

Also, it wasn't that the Pentagon didn't know, it's that the Pentagon didn't inform anyone else.

At least some circles in the Pentagon were aware of Austin’s situation earlier. The chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, Gen Charles “CQ” Brown, learned of the hospitalisation on Tuesday 2 January, one US official said.

The Pentagon’s failure to disclose Austin’s hospitalisation for days, including to Biden, the National Security Council and top Pentagon leaders, reflects a stunning lack of transparency about his illness, how serious it was and when he may be released. Such secrecy, when the US is juggling myriad national security crises, runs counter to normal practice with regards to notifying the president and other senior US officials and cabinet members.

I mean it is rather uncommon to not disclose a Hospitalization of such a high up cabinet member . In fact I'd call it reckless bordering on hiding something .

He is in line to be the President if things go south quickly in all the wrong ways so it's not like he is a nobody.

Initial reports said Austin had some medical procedure in late December (12/22?)...began experiencing pain afterward...and was admitted Jan. 1.

But if Trump did sign off on the Stafford act and went into the Continuation of government plan using PEAD's( does not have the contents necessarily disclosed to anyone besides the military).
And we have been under military occupation since January 21, 2021.
Would the CIC remain as Trump as Biden posed out?
Where would SOD fall?
Under the Civil authority President of the corporation?

I ask this because that would allow us to draw one of 2 conclusions from 3 options.
The military placed Austin there for optics and either puppet per Law of War Manual and assigned a task.
Or he is placed there by CIC and executing a military role.
