I'm literally saying do it. Get both of them off the ballot. Let's get some candidates that aren't 80.

Desantis or Haley? (you are aware that the left doesn't have anyone in the bullpen, right?)

Gavin Newsom? There has to be some reason there was a debate between him and DeSantis.

And lest we forget...DNC Document Shows Party Is Authorized To Swap Out Presidential Candidate After Receiving the Nomination

So maybe they do have someone in the bullpen.

The antics in CO is exactly why I always say” Democrats and democracy should never be used in the same sentence”. It’s everything but democracy, it’s facsism in its true definition.

If Trump is re elected things are really going to get interesting and they will blame it on Trump. Funny thing is, it's not Conservatives out there looting and burning.

Really?

Who caused the violence at protests? It wasn’t antifa.

Anybody notice how strangely quiet ANTIFA and BLM have been since Biden and the Democrats took over ?

Yes, strange that.

Under that right-wing government there was all that protest, civil disobedience, pestilence, and strife, but now, *crickets*?

Hmm...

That would be because you misunderstand anarchy.

A Lesson about Anarchy:

Sounds a lot like the end state for communism where the ruling government steps down and all are equal and work as one. The problem is it never gets there because of when human nature is added to the mix. Anarchy might look good on paper but doesn't do well in application. If it was so good there would be countries based on it and there aren't.

The best it has achieved is hippy-level farm villages. I like how the video talks about taxes and how we can do it all without taxes and just do it on our own such as protection. Are you going to monitor your street after working all day, and if you say well we can pay someone as a small group to be our night guard then you still collect money from everyone to pay their wage and that might as well be a tax. Then you have 6 houses out of 10 that say, well we just do not want to pay anything and so 4 houses pay for it all or you are back to no guard at night.

Also, who pays for the roads, the water treatment plant, the sewage plant, and so on and so forth? Then we go down the path of Corporatocracy really quickly with nothing to push back on it as industries will till need to go on otherwise we are back to the hippy farms.

I also have issues with anarchists in the US as the vast majority do not want it, but anarchists would be willing by force to put everyone under it. Most are young with nothing to lose as they have never worked to gain anything, so they would love to roll the dice where many of us have worked hard for what we have and really do not want a "game reset".

So y'all don't want the walk-over candidate?

I realize this is revenging for the state Trump would have never won anyway, but removing Biden just pretty much assures Newsom to step in for the DNC nomination.

All he did scandalous so far was have a nepotistic birthday party. Oy so many times you can use that. I think he would actually have a shot, and not do the "deer in headlights" thing Joe would.

But if you want to assure the democrats have the more viable candidate, out of eye for an eye principle, sure, take away the McGovern to Trump's Nixon. And then more states follow Colorado. May end up Haley vs Newsom if everyone goes insane with this ballot expulsion thing.

Gonna be an interesting election year.

I have a problem most republicans are not thinking of here. the DEMS have enough EC votes to win even if they remove all dems from the running in their states.

Judges who make partisan and politically motivated rulings should be impeached and have their pension taken from them.

This is an excellent suggestion. I believe this should also apply in cases of police brutality such as we witnessed during the pandemic, particularly in Australia, for example. Removing someone's pension is the ultimate reprimand, it commands the instant respect of those who are threatened with it in response to their serious breaching of the standards associated with their own particular special duties per the demands of their profession. This is the gold standard, the acid test - mess with the requirement of righteous conduct in public office, lose your retirement fund. It's that simple. If this was implemented then corruption would halve overnight.

I agree this is not a good idea. Just imagine we got a little over 11 months to the general election.
Buckle up, you haven't seen crazy yet.
Just imagine the crescendo of madness coming.

Meanwhile these States are trying to pull shenanigans also.

Today, a West Virginia judge killed the "Remove Trump!" lawsuit that was filed in that state.

This is either the stupidest move by the republicans taking this easy bait the dems threw out there or it’s a genius move to force the supreme courts hand to actual rule on this broadly as opposed to just some weak bandaid-like decision only affecting Colorado.
I can’t tell which it is yet.
I wonder if the reps even know at this point.
They’ve made a lot of stupid moves the past few years.
They should have ditched Ronna McDaniel when they had the chance.

The more actions are filed by both Republicans and Democrats across the states, the more pressure there will be to issue a major ruling on this matter, as quickly as possible. Hopefully before Jan 1, 2024.

Stop drinking the koolaid. Posting extreme left propaganda news outlets doesn’t really help your argument, matter fact it does the opposite. Most of the people here can see right through it after being bombarded with it for yrs now. If you lived here you’d know who’s causing the problems, it’s not conservatives, we’re sick of it. Why didn’t you post some left wing violence? There’s a hell of lot more of it to choose from…fact. I’m assuming it didn’t work with your narrative?

The other day someone mentioned this in a thread and I was completely against it because it’s illegal what Colorado did to Trump and it would be illegal to do it to Biden.

Can you please cite the statute or article of the Constitution it violates? While I am thrilled with anything that makes it more difficult for Trump to get re-elected, I'm troubled by the Colorado SC decision because they took it as a given that he engaged in insurrection (and I think he did) but there was no conviction on that charge. But the 14th Amendment was intended to keep officeholders who joined the Confederacy from holding office again and I do not believe it required a conviction.

The SC may overturn the decision which would not surprise me. But it's going to take some really twisted arguments for them to do so without losing all credibility. They would need to decide that the president is not an officeholder of the United States and that he did not engage in insurrection. The Constitution does not define insurrection so they would likely need to come up with a definition. That's going to be very hard to get agreement on even within the conservative majority because they need to think hard about future applications of their precedent. If they decide that what Trump did by encouraging the Jan 6 events is not insurrection they will be essentially condoning all future presidents to do the same thing and that's a pretty sobering thought.

While the other two sources were slightly left leaning, Sky News Network definitely isn't.

I am not denying that there has been left-wing violence.

I was pointing out that a one-sided view is just not the truth.

America has had a specific problem with blaming the left-wing for violence going back to the 'Red Scare's and McCarthyism. But the truth is that violent acts are more frequently done in the USA by right-wing extremists.

In America, far-right terrorist plots have outnumbered far-left ones in 2020

Let's talk about the legal and historical part of the problem.

Any third-year law student, having only superficially studied the constitutional documents of the American Civil War, can easily write a term paper in which he will explain the situation with the 14th Amendment. Firstly, the Southern States did not formally leave the Union; President Lincoln refused to recognize the legitimacy of the “rebels.” And when they began to create the Confederation, he began a war against the separatists, the Operation “to restore constitutional order.” After the victory of the northerners, nothing changed in the legal sense, the southerners returned to the fold... so to speak, the US Constitution was in force on their territory. Both during the war itself and after the signing of the surrender by General Lee.

This fact confirms the legal mechanism for the adoption of the 13th Amendment (abolition of slavery), all states received the same type of documents for its ratification, the Amendment was approved by the overwhelming majority of the “states of the Union”. But there were problems with the 14th Amendment; it did not receive the required two-thirds vote in either the House of Representatives or the Senate. The Confederates, six Southern States (Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, North and South Carolina, as well as New Jersey and Ohio) did not approve it. To avoid a relapse into the Civil War, the government instantly passed several bills (called “Reconstruction Acts”) and divided the former Confederacy into 10 military districts.

All representative bodies were dissolved with bayonets, the army command appointed new representatives (congressmen and state senators), and the 14th Amendment was instantly ratified by people for whom no one voted. This adventure took place in seven of the ten “military districts,” although their creation with the functions of “republican government” was a direct violation of the US Constitution. The then Secretary of State William Seward was concerned with this issue; he personally came to three “rebellious military districts”, where the northern generals were unable to create even the appearance of representative power or recruit collaborators as “deputies”.

After that, he refused to sign the 14th Amendment, but the radical Republicans in Congress “corrected” him and on July 20, 1868, Mr. Seward announced: the 14th Amendment is included in the Constitution. And then lawlessness began to happen: obtaining citizenship for babies from families of illegal migrants, a court ban on Christian prayers in public schools, allowing abortions and much more, which is also spelled out in the US Constitution, but has been de facto cancelled. Moreover, the US Supreme Court has never taken such “inconvenient claims” into consideration, which (according to experts in American and international law) is a “formula of silence”, the superiority of political expediency over the Law.

As a matter of fact, the Republicans received a similar “answer” only 150 years later. This speaks to the imperfection of the entire legal system of the United States, which, in its original design, was supposed to be strictly based on the Law, but 150 years ago began to rely on certain “rules” that are established by a narrow circle of people depending on economic, political, personal and other interests.
What's next? Civil War? Come to your senses!

Using another one of your sock accounts M?

You are answering your own question, but your bias won't let you see it? A conviction wasn't necessary because they were confederates, and that's what the amendment was written for. Derp.

The SC may overturn the decision which would not surprise me. But it's going to take some really twisted arguments for them to do so without losing all credibility.

Kinda like your post. Twisted arguments and zero credibility.

If they decide that what Trump did by encouraging the Jan 6 events is not insurrection they will be essentially condoning all future presidents to do the same thing and that's a pretty sobering thought.

In YOUR opinion he encouraged those events, but you can only come to that conclusion by ignoring facts and pretzel logic.
And if they uphold the CO ruling they will be condemning all future presidents to being removed from the ballot on a whim, let alone destroy the very system you claim to believe in.

An interesting post RT. Some of this I was already aware of, but some of what you have written sounds revisionist. I will have to dig out my books and read up on it. A lot of things happened during the civil war that pushed the limits, and even overstepped the limits of the law. At one point, Lincoln wanted to arrest a Supreme court judge over a strong disagreement.

I'm not arguing for or against the decision , personally I think they should both be struck off as neither is suitable for the job.

That's what VOTING is for, here. The democrat party has made it very clear they don't like voters deciding elections. They don't even like America or Americans, which is why they ignore most every law and pretend it's all fine to act this way. Proven by how they treat the electorate.

NEITHER should be "struck off" as that is like North Korea or China.
