Lol... The good thing about living in constant fear is it shortens your life drastically so you wont have to suffer that long...

I'm not concerned about the safety of my family, we life in diffrent worlds.

The fact that you equate gun ownership with "living in constant fear" is comical in itself.

Oh and how do guns solve those problems?.

My Glock solves the problem of me being vulnerable to criminals.
It solves that problem very well.

Guns being owned by law abiding citizens for self defense is a RIGHT.
No matter how much some foreigner who is afraid of guns says otherwise.

The comical part is that you can only think in terms of fight and flight hance the constant insinuation about me being affraid and not capable of protection.

That's ok though i don't live in the USA and have no idea what it must be to life in domestically hostile territory...

So why do you need guns if there are no threads to be affraid of so much so you need death or life protection.

Yeah makes no sense, unless it's just another tool fetish...

There seems to be a huge dissociation regarding the emotions some run their decision making Prozess on...

Did I say otherwise?

It's a right, ok!
it's not a solution!

Among all developed countries, only US citizens have such a distorted relationship with guns.
It's a fetish, and there is no rational argument to claim guns solve anything...
But hey keep trying the NRA is very happy about it...

It's a fetish,

NOPE. People own guns for self defense. People own guns for sport. People own guns because they like to collect them like they like to collect anything else. Your term 'fetish' is inaccurate. And yes, guns do solve something. They solve the problem of self defense.

fetish /fĕt′ĭsh/
noun

- An object that is believed to have magical or spiritual powers, especially such an object associated with animistic or shamanistic religious practices.

- An object of unreasonably excessive attention or reverence.
"made a fetish of punctuality."

- Something, such as a material object or nonsexual part of the body, that arouses sexual desire and may become necessary for sexual gratification.

Just as I figured, no real answer. Just more troll nonsense

Good luck in your corner, pretending the world is a safe place to live.

It really must suck to live in fear. That kind of stress can facilitate many physical problems as well as domestic woes.

Self-defense is a oftenly used empty word to justify someone's fetish for arms.

If people were as Christians as they claim they wouldn't be so affraid to loose their life...

Fear of death is an indication of under developed spirituality.

Looky there another one that thinks his reasoning based on fear applies to everyone else too.

Projection much?

That's the thing, in the Us there is this thing called stand your ground. Means I don't have to run and hide if someone breaks into my home. They chose to put their own life on the line because they thought my personal belonging were more valuable than their own life.

That is where they are wrong.

You're running around in circles there mate. The threats are everywhere, as per what I showed you earlier that you obviously ignored.

As has been stated on ATS hundreds of times, and once by me in this thread alone, "Those of us who carry daily are not out looking to use our firearms but we have them in case the need would arise." But, as someone who knows nothing of self defense as you, would not understand that concept. You only see it as you want to see it with your blinders on looking from the outside in.

I'd worry about your own place of residence before you start trying to figure out the issues going on in other countries.

Says the one that is so afraid of guns that they think nobody else should have them.

Makes zero sense, but feelz will be feelz right bud

I wasn't projecting toward your attitudes. I actually sympathize with your stance.... I own guns and don't feel any safer. I'm more worried about getting cremed by a drunk driver than getting shot by an assailant.

I gave the definition for 'fetish'. It doesn't fit.

Fear of death is an indication of under developed spirituality.

People should just roll over and accept being murdered or injured when they have the ability to stop it? That's ridiculous. Basic evolutionary biology ... self preservation and self defense. It's normal.

Also, you have a perverted idea of christianity and you assume everyone is christian. Two errors.

Let me ask you this, why do you own the guns?

I do not live in fear, I live in preparation. There is a difference, but I couldn't expect people like you two to understand such a perplexing idea.

What I don't get is why non gun owners care so much that law abiding citizens own guns. It doesn't affect them at all. And why a foreigner would be so emotionally invested and care. It's weird.

They want to control everything around them, and get all up in their feelz when they can't do that.

Could it be jealousy? Sure

They hate that we are constantly exercising our rights as American citizens to do what we want.

Those, as you mentioned previously, think that us who seek to protect ourselves in all aspects of life live in a "constant state of fear"

Fair enough....perhaps "fear" was the wrong term. I do think "people like you" live in a constant state of anxiety, always vigilant, can't relax, prone to heart attacks and strokes.

Vigilance is something I have always exercised, never having any sort of health/heart issues.

Blinders on is no way to live, you must always be aware of your surroundings and know how to act if the need arises. Not just in regards to firearm use for self defense.

If you are driving and another car swerves into your lane, you must be vigilant to that and react as necessary.
As a parent, you have a child that is learning to walk/crawl, you must be vigilant to what they are doing as to not let them hurt themselves in a serious manner.

Vigilance is not something you don't live without, some just use it more than others. Others use it as an excuse to be overbearing and over the top. Those of us that know how to control it use it as a tool to keep us in the know at all times.
