That is my greatest fear, all the documented evidence, all the victims speaking out and you say lies
The bible teaches “tares among the wheat” and you deny it
Call yourself Gods church but deny Gods word
Harbour child sex criminals amd they are endorsed

We're coming along. Up to Exodus. It's always interesting reading through the Bible at different stages of your life, because you always see it through different eyes, and it seems as you grow older and have more responsibilities and go through more trials the more one comes to appreciate the events that occur. And it is interesting to see how God's holy spirit guides one to see things from a certain perspective that touches one's life in their present condition.

I didn't think this would get so long reading only 3 chapters when I was done didn't even realize I had almost taken an hour. But then you come to appreciate how reading under prayer and God's holy spirit brings back to mind scriptures that relate to what you are reading, and helps you understand things better. I think you can see that going on here as always. But it is interesting to watch. To a person that may be familiar with some of my threads you can see how my thought processes things as I read through scripture. I have to stop myself and keep focused too. Because I'm sure I could have gone on another 3 or 4 hours just with commentary with these 3 chapters. Often when I am reading silently or to myself and not doing this project I've decided to undertake that is what happens. And just a few verses can end up being an entire day of research and investigation into different things.

"But his delight is in the law of Jehovah,
And he reads His law in an undertone day and night."
-Psalm 1:2.

You might want watch this video on the meaning of Hebrew words in Psalm 1.2

Its not the "reading" but the "pondering" that's done day and night on ones own righteous. Meditating on our own imperfections before God.

Good points. Thanks for taking the time to share this glend. That's why reading in an undertone is important. I think for a couple of reasons. One it helps your ears hear it, not just your mind, which is okay, but it is good to hear God's word spoken. And by reading in an undertone you have to slow down your reading. At least I know I do. When I read silently I can read much faster. By slowing down it gives you more time to ponder and meditate over the words. You may be interested in watching this video to see how I do this:

Of course one must be directed by God's holy spirit or the reading is of little value. And like you said, the pondering over it, it is like the digesting process after you read, so that you can let it sink in, and absorb the nutrients of the meal. And of course that would have a person reflect on their own relationship and their righteousness with God.

I did not understand "undertone" correctly, thank you. I agree with what you say. Wishing you the best.

Here is some interesting news. Have you seen the new update?.

As beards have come back into favor among the respectable (as they had become disreputable for awhile in the past) beards can now be used again among brothers in positions of responsibility. (I've already got a week beard growing).

As for dealing with Creaky and his slander I would simply apply the words of 2 Tim 2:23. As the reading in the Bible reading I've been doing so far with Abraham, Issac, and now Jacob we see how they were lovers of people and lovers of Jehovah God. They avoided confrontation, and ceded to those who bullied and abused them. And Jehovah when he needed to stepped in and took care of matters. It always ends up good for those who do good, and always end up bad for those who have evil intent.

Just to add to this, a little JW humor. I should have another day (in reading the Bible) ready later on today:

I have a difficult time taking the Bible seriously as the "word of God"

A lot of the Bible was thrown out and edited by MEN....were they anointed by GOD and given authorization?

The Council of Nicaea and Constantine were politically motivated.

What has come down to us as canon in God's word the holy Bible was divinely guided. There are various museums around the world, an excellent one in Washington D. C. I recommend you visit if you ever get the chance. And also the one in Warwick, New York. These help you see the progress of the Bible and preservation of the Bible throughout the millenniums. I don't know how one can come away after visiting one with an open mind, and not conclude that the Bible is God's word, and its history and preservation of humankind today a miracle, and testament to Jehovah's Godhood.

As for my comments concorning Bible canon you can read it here: Bible Canon.

There is evidence that God's word was passed on to us faithfully by God fearing men who cherished it.

All the Bible writers were Jews. All of the writers of the Christian Greek Scriptures were also anointed Christians.

I recall from Christian sections in the bookshop, these 365-day Bibles were once very popular.

You know, a tract a day and a discussion.

Some geared towards teenagers, women or men.

Maybe some churches still have them, but, erm it's like a religious version of a 1950's chemistry set.

Interesting. I recommend everyone to read through the Bible at least once. No matter how long it takes them. I would give them the encouragement to do that. That's actually what this thread is about mostly. I calculated that at this rate I'll probably have it read through for ATS in about 6 months. Over the years I've probably read the Bible a couple dozen times or more.

This is actually cool I wasn't sure it had been recorded but as I was reading about Jehovah causing it to rain down fire and hail and there was thunder, right when I was reading that part it there was lightning and rolling thunder outside. But you can actually hear it in the background of the recording starting @9:30.

Up to day 13. This reading I think is one of the most stirring of Bible accounts in all of Scripture. Now Jehovah will show why he had allowed Pharaoh to harden his heart and become obstinate in not obeying Jehovah's voice and sending his people away. As Jehovah explained to Moses:

"For by now I could have thrust my hand out to strike you and your people with a devastating plague, and you would have been wiped out from the earth. But for this very reason I have kept you in existence: to show you my power and to have my name declared in all the earth."-Exodus 9:15-16.

This is such a faith-strengthening account. Because it shows that God can become a Savior, and fulfill the very meaning of his name Jehovah: To cause to become. He very easily could have sent a plague to wipe out Pharaoh and all of the Egyptians if he so chose. But in this way he magnified his name among his people, in the eyes of the Egyptians, and for all future generations to come. And leaves an example for both the wicked world opposed to him as stiff-necked and obstinate as Pharaoh, and to those who put faith in him as Moses did. A man in whom there was divine beauty!
