Wasn't the original source of this story Kanwa?

Because if it is then i wouldn't place too much credibility on it.

What i presume is driving speculation is the fact that China might be looking at the Rafale.

Heck No! Kanwa on the controry was bit damp about the J-10 problems. It said Chinese forces are satisfied with it. IMHO this "Chinese and military commentry" is a mainland publication (not even Taiwanese).

It is a Rafale.

I don't think they are really having any problems with the J-10, maybe waiting for the Europe weapons ban to be cancelled, buy avonics from France or Sweden then maybe add it in. Remember that they also stopped producing the J-11 or Su-27 a while ago, maybe its because they are focusing on something else.....

intuition??
An FC-1 on a carrier??!!

And I thought you would be able to read chinese!!
Or have they not mentioned the name of the aircraft in that text??

Unfortunetly Rafale is french, but it roughly translates to some kind of windy thing.

Yes, the article talks about the Rafale. France would really want to sell it's jets, they so damn expensive.

I'am no aircraft expert.

wheres waynos when you need him.

EDIT: Hey BruteGorilla, you didin't source that off Kanwa again did you???

Lol, do you think Kanwa is some of Chinese mole with all these special information about the Chinese military?

It's run by 1 guy, his wife, ethnic Chinese but Evangelical convert, changed his name to Pinkov. If he has "sources", i'am surprised those sources haven't being executed for treason.

A year back Kanwa pictures and reports were geniun as they were the ones responsible for bringing J-10 pictures and news. Suddenly they report that J-10 has problems and Kanwa becomes non-credible.

My impression is Kanwa is the only credible news source when it comes to China.

Ok, Kanwa is a proper source.

I don't really care, lol.

Let me get this straight:

The Chinese cant even create a working COPY of another aircraft? Its too bad too, the J-10 looked as if it may end up being the best copy of an F16 so far. Oh well...

I'm not an aircraft expert, so don't mind me for asking this, what bands?

EDIT: Oh,it might help if you circled it with paint or some other editing program.

What? Which bastard told you this tale? You'd better ask him some evidence to prove it. If not, don't believe it. THe 10 has already producted more over 100. Further more, there is a two-seat type being developed.

What exactly is wrong with the bands?

What does it actually inhibit?

Why? Why China will stop the J-10 project? Have you seen any aircraft project which has improved two-seat type to supply training pilot be cancered? Are there someone really think the J-10's maneuverability less than Rafale?

These are the same people who inveted the chinese star for christs sake.

Credible information about the J-10 is pretty hard to get. There are so many sources that contradict each other. Some say it will be cancelled, some say it will only be produced in small numbers

I personally think the PLAAF is playing crouching-tiger-hidden-dragon with this but I can only speculate.

Crouching-tiger-hidden-dragon? They better produce the J-10 in small number and stick to purchasing export fighters or else they are playing hidden dragon with a piece of *bleep*.
