I just Froze to Death in my EV in a Snow Storm in Minnesota in December .Battery Die Along with me..........

I was wondering about that. How long until hot air blows out the vents?

A very long time. More than 5 hours.

I know, because we had our windows replaced on a day that was miserable and freezing (and cloudy, threatening rain.) I stayed in my nice warm Mitsubishi hybrid, running the heater on electric, and was nice and toasty for 5 hours. There was still juice left -- and my range on battery alone is only about 25 miles (great for the city driving that I do.)

And after that 5 hours, I still had a full tank of gas.

So... possibly the same as a gasoline engine.

Charging is slow at this point (we're only level 2, so about 90 minutes or so for a full charge if you're battery only) which is why hybrids make more sense at this point (www.transportation.gov...) depending on what your driving needs are and how you drive (charge at home, able to charge overnight at your destination) However, faster charging stations and batteries are just showing up, and I expect that this will change drastically in the next decade.

its probably already too late, it was probably too late 100 years ago. unless carbon capture reaches full maturity soon and we build it like crazy everywhere in under 30 years, but i doubt the US economy will survive that long or the global economy, by then our rivers and intercoastal waterways will no longer be safe for shipping, they will be part of the ocean without any barriers keeping the water calm.
