I just finished reading about Billie Holiday's success. Her eatate was only worth $1,000 at the time of her death, even though she made 100's of thousands of dollars during her career, $400,000 in a 3-year span even. Apparently, her spouse committed embezzlement. This reminded me of Jimi Hendrix and his ex-C.I.A. manager. Jimi made $60,000 to $80,000 per show, and he performed over 600 times, but his estate was only worth $20,000 at the time of his death. Like, wtf is wrong with this picture?

In general, both bands have dark lyrics and imagery at times, Black Sabbath more so than Iron Maiden. I'm not sure what to think overall, but these two songs are anti war regardless.

This is why I don't have issue with some talk of material gain in the music I listen to, I just don't want it to be the main driver creatively let alone politically. Writing about being able to keep the money you earn, to use it to support yourself and to do with it what you want while doing what you want creatively expresses a progressive defiance, particularly for female African-American artists, and challenges the establishment view, and the 100 year history of the failure of the ERA. As do "sex-positive" artists such as Meghan thee Stallion and Janelle Monae, they're both challenging the establishment of hetero-normative, so-called "traditional" behaviours, which are far from "natural" or even traditional for some.

4. Sees a picture of a child eating pizza on Etsy being sold for thousands of dollars, thanks to Reddit. "This is suspicious."
5. Remembers prior research on Pizzagate. "Is this for real? It sounds crazy."
6. Reads that the lead journalist who debunked Pizzagate is accused of possessing large quantities of child pornography. "Gross!"
7. Reads John Podesta's emails, thanks to WikiLeaks. "These people are sick."

Me: "Thanks for dropping knowledge Crook, but this topic is too disturbing."
