I could bore you with Jim Morrison or Jimi Hendrix anti establishment songs, which we've probably all heard before, and that's no fun. A few of my African friends suggested these artists to me over the years. Some of the songs I can get behind, while others are too angry and violent. I'm a BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughn guy through and through. Either way, there is some truth being spoken by these artists. Have a listen.

How about Jefferson Airplane
Crown of Creation

You are the crown of creation
You are the crown of creation
And you've got no place to go

[Verse 2]
Soon you'll attain the stability you strive for
In the only way that it's granted
In a place among the fossils of our time

[Bridge]
In loyalty to their kind
They cannot tolerate our minds
In loyalty to our kind
We cannot tolerate their obstruction!

[Outro]
Life is change
How it differs from the rocks
I've seen their ways too often for my liking
New worlds to gain
My life is to survive
And be alive for you
Ah ah ah ah

This waiata *song* was adopted by Greenpeace during protests of Muroroa French Polynesia nuclear bomb testing.
It was writen as a waiata *song* for the people of the Pacific by Hirini Melbourne. A powerful song.

Here's the link as I can never get posting a video right

Thank you for this Dylan song! I never knew. I'll be passing that one along to friends and family. And the Jefferson Airplane song is cryptic and eerie, almost poetic.

Everyone reading, please share.

Before Dylan went ''pop'' he was writing a lot of protest songs, but this one, I have read, cut right to the core of his disgust. This one did not get much playtime on most music stations and barely on any of the rock stations. I was 16 when this one came out and it altered my sense of reality. Back then there were few if any protest songs and those that there were were presented for the most within the folk music genre, and even those were of the ''we can make it better'' variety. This song, did not pretend to be happy.

Kwaka, thank you. I've heard that Rage Against the Machine song on and off for years, but context caught me sleeping on it. Also, I've heard that Nirvana song on and off a lot too, but the music video gave it context too.

Kurt Cobain paid a big price questioning the government, so did the rage against the machine. How Ice T live on after NWA, he is solid and has some good back up. Alice cooper is a NWO bitch, but has a few moments calling it as it is. With God and the truth kicked out of congress these days, that is where the real anti establishment is these days.

Ahhh... Rage Against the Machine.
That band of anticapitalist millionaires.

Like their music but they are hypocrites that sold out.

I think he was just burnt out from the demands of the industry and trying to take care of Courtney during her pregnancy.

From what I heard on the underground circuit he was only able to source his herion from sketchy sources.

The kids who were present that delivered the request fled the scene and were never found.

Artists are sensitive people. Especially Kurt.

He was being influenced by people who simply didn't care about his well being.

I overheard a conversation once in Seattle from two hermon users who were laughing at one of their luckiest that was found dead in a bathroom.

They thought it was fuuny.
