They are slowed or sped up based on conditions.

Don’t worry, Mayor Pete who is Secretary of Transportation is busy denying that he knows some pedo who just got arrested (even though there are half a dozen photos of them together looking like buddies) and he’s planning his next stages photo op to look like he’s bicycling to work after hopping out of a Secret Service Chevy Suburban

IMO its decaying infrastructure. How old are these railroads?

I have two bridges out in my hometown. There is one bridge serving the entire town and all the trucks that drive through it. It's insane.

Everything is turning to #. It's not enemy action it's the empire collapsing under the weight of its own stupidity and corruption.

I didn't know booty judge was responsible for trains. ..

😊😊

Buttigieg is the Secretary of Transportation in the US. He was recently in Ukraine as an advisor to help them rebuild their infrastructure; I guess that's why he doesn't have time to address all the pressing needs of the failing US infrastructure in America.

You're point?

Do you know how many derailments the US averages a year? In 2022, we were down to 1,259 derailments. From 1975, we averaged over 2800 a year, with a peak in 1978 of 9.400. This year we're well below last year, with October seeing the 742nd derailment for 2023.

So in brief your stating that its all press blowup to get all of us on edge?

I OK with your take.

You said "I didn't know booty judge was responsible for trains." My response is he is the Secretary of Transportation, which includes railroads. Not sure how you missed the 'point' of my response.

Are you suggesting "sabotage" because of the "rules" ?

Well the comment was more to call him a uh, well, you know. A booty judge. A charge I don't want to belabor but that I can't say I feel that bad about. And to nudge wingding luey. But I also don't know if he's technically responsible for every little aspect of transport in the us just because logic tells me but more than that I was wondering why you're doubling down on acting a little bit like a sign post. Not sure how you "missed" all that either lol.

It's ok. We all morph into helper bots. We just all have those times. Did you really want to get monotonous over this? These subjects are just make me cry tedious and you wandered into it wanting to ding me over a joke!😓 Something something regarding Ukr.? Tell me what's up then what do you got heheh...-

I suspect your grievance goes beyond mr "give me a 1, give me a 10" and may or may not be something for another thread. That is if I can even get around to it.

Hackers. I know this as they can hack into any electrinic controlled car or truck. They can control everything and so can law enforcement. Obviously they know this on the trains brake system and acted accordingly.

Thoughts about Mr. Zap?

That’s a real possibility. Electric brakes are also expensive because they need a mechanical backup, or a system to force engage them if they lose power. I’d bet it was cost more though. A hacker could take control of the train itself just as easily, even without the electric brakes and cause problems.

Also depends on how train configurated - idea is get the heavier cars toward front of train to assist in braking If the heavy cars are at back when front slows down the rear is still moving (There's that inertia thing) and pushing cars in front can cause derailments
