More Than 500 U.S. Officials Sign Letter Protesting Biden's Israel Policy Demanding a Ceasefire

More than 500 political appointees and staff members representing some 40 government agencies sent a letter to President Biden on Tuesday protesting his support of Israel in its war in Gaza.

The letter, part of growing internal dissent over the administration’s support of the war, calls on the president to seek an immediate cease-fire in the Gaza Strip and to push Israel to allow humanitarian aid into the territory. It is the latest of several protest letters from officials throughout the Biden administration, including three internal memos to Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken signed by dozens of State Department employees as well as an open letter signed by more than 1,000 employees of the U.S. Agency for International Development

It looks like there is a massive wave of internal dissent by US Officials in relation to the Biden's Israeli Policy that supports the continuation of the war and the slaughtering of tens of thousands of innocent civilians by the Israeli Armed Forces.

A few days ago I made another thread about John Paul, a Senior State Department Official who resigned as he was in complete disagreement with US Policy arguing that foreign countries must not use US arms to slaughter innocent civilians. It seems he isn't the only one in the State Department and not the only US Official who disagrees completely with US Policy on this matter.

The letter condemns both Hamas’ attacks on the 7th of October and the very large number of civilian deaths in Gaza caused by the Israeli Army.

It says the following

We call on President Biden to urgently demand a cease-fire; and to call for de-escalation of the current conflict by securing the immediate release of the Israeli hostages and arbitrarily detained Palestinians; the restoration of water, fuel, electricity and other basic services; and the passage of adequate humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip,” the letter says.

The various letters and criticisms clearly undermine, not only the chosen policy on this issue, but Biden himself who has given full support to Israel to conduct the military operations in Gaza by completely disregarding International Law and by committing a range of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

I don't care what Israel does.

We need to stop sending our money to anyone.

It's funny how the western world routinely acts like Israel needs our leadership. How about they already know what they want to do and they aren't asking permission, nor is it our place to give it. Send them prayers and ammunition and they'll take care of the rest.

Im not a "whiny liberal" but ill go a step further than John Paul and say that foreign countries should not use weapons or funding from the US for any warfare period. Keep hearing about all these starving children and decrepit conditions in poor countries around the world, everybody says they "want to make a difference" then proceed to give 100s of billions to other countries to kill people and wage war. I guess its the human condition. No one can tangibly help anyone else at any point. Just provide means to make the military industrial complex richer and richer.

Other countries don't need our money if they are just using it to buy and make weapons of war. Money down the misery drain. It's like thinking you're helping a homeless guy get food when you give him 5 bucks, but then he uses it to buy booze instead. Waste. Waging war is extravagance by every means....extravagant death, extravagant destruction, extravagant money given to trillion dollar companies. We should not be funding other countries' extravagance.

It is fascinating that the liberal left through their many public demonstrations and the rhetoric of their Congresswomen in the last 2 months, have become extraordinarily openly antisemitic. The kind of antisemitism that we saw Germans engage in right before WWII. We must never forget the Holocaust and what antisemitism can do, and not deny it exists and not condemn it as evil.

Now, open and vigorous support for liberals, leftists, Democratic Party Congresspeople, those who chant “Death to Israel” and “from the River to the Sea” (which means to Hamas, get rid of all Jewish people) is visible to all and is clearly hate speech directed at the Jewish people.

The protesting progressive/liberal students, and signers of the petition want Israel to ceasefire unconditionally and allow Hamas to keep the Jewish hostages as leverage, ok, that isn’t reminiscent of the elite intelligentsia class in Germany prior to WWII.

The progressive/liberal/Democrats all over liberal campuses and on the streets of the US are making it clear what they think of the Jewish people.

It is absolutely terrifying in the possible outcome of such intense hatred flowing freely toward people who voted “incorrectly” according to the liberal left, and toward the Jewish people and Israel. It is eerily reminiscent of camps for those who don't support the political party in majority control of the nation and for the Jewish people in WWII.

There is nothing more damning to the official narrative presented by Israel and some of the MSM here in the US and in the Western World.

Nobody has argued against the release of hostages. But a ceasefire won't friend entirely on this. It is used as an excuse to justify the continuation of the atrocities against the civilian population.

Nobody has argued against the release of hostages. But a ceasefire won't friend entirely on this. It is used as an excuse to justify the continuation of the atrocities against the civilian population.

Liberals are not arguing FOR a release of hostages, they are only arguing for a ceasefire, hostages be damned.

You are right a cease fire will most likely encourage a continuation of Hamas killing babies, raping women, and burning people alive. After all that is what started all of this.

As for the term antisemitism being worn out.

Let's see, Hillary 9 years ago began "conservative actual voters who did not support for her for President", are racists, sexists, homophobes and deplorable. Liberals have added with glee that every voter who voted for Trump is a Nazi and Biden called them semi-fascist. Lately they have chimed in with transphobic. These ists/isms have been going on with vigor and extreme hatred added to the mix for nearly 9 years now.
