What we're (Jews) really good at is bull#.

-Lewis Black, Jewish Comedian

We didn't even blow up the building Bin Laden was hiding in. And there were a couple of human shields in there with him.

-Keaton Weiss

The ten dumbest things we're being asked to believe about Gaza:

1. That Israel had no idea what Hamas was up to prior to October 7, but ever since October 7 has known about every hospital, mosque, school, refugee camp and water tower that Hamas is hiding in.

2. That the blame for all of the deaths caused by Israeli weapons launched by Israel rests solely on Hamas.

3. That Hamas is using “human shields” — meaning Hamas bases are hidden amidst civilian populations — yet Israel is managing to kill thousands of civilians without doing any meaningful damage to Hamas.

4. That it would be perfectly fine to murder children by the thousands even if they were being used as “human shields” — as though resolving a hostage situation by mowing down thousands of child hostages would be regarded as reasonable and acceptable by the public if it happened in our own country.

5. That is is only by pure coincidence that Israel bombing “Hamas targets” in civilian infrastructure and residential buildings just so happens to look exactly the same as what you’d expect to see if Israel was simply bombing civilian infrastructure and residential buildings and lying about its reasons for doing so.

6. That satellite images of entire neighborhoods reduced to rubble in Gaza have been caused by “precision strikes” directed solely at Hamas and have been carried out with the greatest of care for human life, despite Israeli officials openly saying that “the emphasis is on damage and not on accuracy” in this assault and that “Gaza will eventually turn into a city of tents; there will be no buildings.”

7. That this bombing campaign has anything to do with freeing Israeli hostages — as though the bombing campaign itself has not killed dozens of hostages, and as though anyone believes Israel would stop bombing Gaza after the hostages are returned.

8. That the only reason anyone could possibly oppose the detonation of thousands of bombs on an open air prison full of children would be if they had very strong and hateful opinions toward the members of the religion of Judaism.

9. That Hamas attacked Israel entirely out of the blue and completely unprovoked, solely because they are evil and hate Jews.

10. That Washington is powerless to stop this genocide that it is directly funding and supplying.

Awareness is spreading, and Israel is digging itself a bigger hole with every innocent life they destroy.

There is no coming back from this.

Great thread!!

Believe it or not a lot of these points if not all, have been covered in the various threads we have made and especially in my threads that have extensively covered a range of issues in relation to this conflict.

It's not a coincidence that millions of people around the world are asking for an end to the war and public opinion is in favour or ceasefire and peace.

There is an increasing number of politicians and lawyers who have been asking for sanctions against Israel in many countries. Latest example a Spanish Politician who has argued that Israel must be brought before the International Criminal Court.

Equally important the fact that French Lawyer Juan Branco is keen to represent victims of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli Army. (see other thread I made).

It's obvious not everyone is convinced with the tactic of killing thousands of innocent civilians many of whom are children and women in order to get to Hamas. It's obvious that Hamas is used an an excuse to kill as many Palestinians as possible. Those who try to defend Israel probably believe that everyone else is naive and stupid or has no understanding of what is happening.

This particular argument has been discussed extensively and shown not to be true again and again.

A human shield is meaningful when bullets are fired. Someone can use a human shield against bullets. But it's rather a stupid argument when a population is bombed with powerful bombs dropped from jet fighters. Bombs don't discriminate between civilians and combatants and won't save a combatant in case their location is bombed.

Furthermore those who claim human shields are used have never qualified their claims. We suppose to believe their assertions.

Obviously not true.
The situation will end with a simple phone call or with a few phone calls.

2.That the blame for all of the deaths caused by Israeli weapons launched by Israel rests solely on Hamas.

The most bizarre argument that reflects well the Israeli State Propaganda and those who have adopted their rhetoric online and offline.

No. The deaths are caused mainly by highly powerful bombs that have killed thousands of innocent civilians many of whom are children and women.

Israel has committed a range of war crimes including the slaughtering of innocent civilians through the indiscriminate bombing of every structure that exists and is considered a military target by the IDF.

A few days ago the IDF has claimed there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza despite the tens of thousands of deaths and the destruction of the area. It's a humanitarian catastrophy and not a crisis just as described by the UN, Amnesty International, the Red Cross, independent doctors and journalists on the ground.

There are a few members by the way that have referenced the IDF and Israeli State sources as if they reliable or credible....

It's only fine in the sick minds of those who have taken the decision to murder children even if they were used as human shields.

Nobody else has these kind of 'values'

If Hamas or part of Hamas was operating in Israel and have taken hostages or used Israelis (including children) as human shields and were hiding into Israeli buildings then we know for sure the IDF would have adopted a much different approach. They would have never bombed the buildings or murdered Israeli children to 'get to the terrorists'

It's another debunked claim.

8. That the only reason anyone could possibly oppose the detonation of thousands of bombs on an open air prison full of children would be if they had very strong and hateful opinions toward the members of the religion of Judaism

Any sane person in this world will oppose the bombing campaign of one of the most dense areas in the world hosting around 2.3 million people, most of whom are children and women.

There have been various debunked claims that were made in the face of stupidity and desperation.

If you happen to be against the war (especially if you're not an Arab or a Jew like most of us) then you are a Hamas or Terror supporter, a Nazi sympathiser or just Nazi and a Jew Hater. The irony is that many Jewish people are against the war and in support of ceasefire and peace and they have also been called Jew Haters or self-hating Jews and antisemites....

As absurd s it gets. But nothing more than self defeating claims that have been debunked again and again.

One thing that the person forgot to include to the list are the various claims that the modern State of Israel represents all Jews in this world.

This particular claim deserves a separate thread imo.

I don't really think all Jews in this world are represented or want to be represented by a State that is a governed by a number of ultra right wing fascistoids and extremists. Many Jews have spoken against it through their various interviews and talks online and offline.

2ndly Genocide my ASS! Here is why ...

Not sure what point you were trying to make but according to international law Israel is in the midst of conducting a genocide. The fact we haven't reached a million dead is bull****! It's about intent and Israel intends to commit a genocide against the people of Gaza. Even the experts agree.

I live in the usa, if we were invaded and attacked, I would hope the government would unleash holy hell on whoever attacked us. Israel, hamas let em kill each other. I think all other countries should stay out of it and to the victor goes the spoils.

Just wondering, should the 10/7 attacks on civilians not have been responded too? It sure seems like "genocide" only works in one direction. What does "from the river to the sea" mean? War really sucks and should be avoided at all costs. A two state solution has been offered in the past and declined. Most, at least a voting majority, only want no Isreal. Two wrongs don't make a right but if you do not want war crimes committed against you don't commit war crimes to poke the bear.

This is how Israel used that slogan in the 70s:

Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party, which describes itself as conservative and nationalist, has been a staunch promoter of the concept of “Eretz Israel”, or the Bible-given right of the Jewish people to the land of Israel.

According to the Jewish Virtual Library, the party’s original party manifesto in 1977 stated that “between the Sea and the Jordan there will only be Israeli sovereignty”. It also argued that the establishment of a Palestinian state “jeopardises the security of the Jewish population” and “endangers the existence of the state of Israel”.

Israel’s ambassador to the UK, Tzipi Hotovely, has been among the promoters of international recognition of the Jewish historic claim to lands from the river to the sea.

www.aljazeera.com...

I see from your questions that you know absolutely nothing about the history between these two peoples and the lands involved.

The only real genocide has been against the Jews. They are a tiny tribe. Less than 20 million.

Yet, there are nearly 2 billion Muslims.

To accuse Israel of genocide is an insult, IMHO

The real disgust is the U.S. continuing to turn a blind eye and ear to the killings of civilians while at the same time sending increased funding and more military armaments to Israel when it appears the majority of Americans are against foreign wars and killing of innocent civilians.

I just don't believe israel was caught blindsided by an attack by Hamas. it was staged and allowed and many of the news reports coming out of there are as fake as the ones we were given from over in The Ukraine. So we're being played there like we were with Russia and Ukraine. Money is being handed over, people are being sacrificed on both sides, I'm not taking sides and if anything I'm watching everybody and trying to see what all this draconian machiavellian BS is for. A smoke screen, another fleecing of americans( higher taxes and oil prices, increased US debt). I see the banks and the oil industry making out along with the deep state military tech complex.
Terrorists, terrorists, terrosrists. War criminals. Crooks. The problem is the very people saying we have to rely on them to protect us are the most dangerous terrorists of all.

Title: **Debunking the Top 10 Misconceptions About Gaza: Unveiling the Truth Amidst Controversy**

In the complex geopolitical landscape of the Middle East, few issues evoke as much passion and controversy as the situation in Gaza. However, amid the fervor, several misconceptions have taken root, clouding the understanding of this critical region. Let's unravel the web of misinformation and shed light on the ten most persistent and unfounded beliefs surrounding Gaza.

### 1. **The Homogeneous Narrative:**
One of the biggest misconceptions is treating Gaza as a monolithic entity. In reality, it is a diverse and dynamic region with a rich history, encompassing various perspectives and experiences.

### 2. **The Oversimplified Conflict:**
The conflict in Gaza is often oversimplified, reduced to a binary narrative. In truth, the situation is complex, involving historical, cultural, and political factors that go beyond a mere black-and-white portrayal.

### 3. **Humanitarian Aid Mismanagement:**
Claims that humanitarian aid doesn't reach the people of Gaza are misleading. International organizations work tirelessly to provide assistance, but challenges, including political complexities, can impact the distribution process.

### 4. **Blanket Accusations:**
Blanket accusations against the entire population of Gaza are unfounded. Millions of individuals, each with their own beliefs and aspirations, should not be painted with the same brush based on the actions of a few.

### 5. **Infrastructure Misconceptions:**
Assertions that Gaza lacks infrastructure due to external factors alone oversimplify the situation. Internal governance and resource allocation also play significant roles in shaping the region's infrastructure.

### 6. **The Tunnel Vision on Tunnels:**
While the issue of tunnels is often highlighted, it's crucial to understand the broader context. Tunnels can serve various purposes, including civilian infrastructure and smuggling routes, complicating the narrative.

### 7. **The Role of Media Bias:**
Claims of media bias on either side should be critically examined. Recognizing the diversity of perspectives within media outlets is essential for a more nuanced understanding of the situation.

### 8. **Historical Amnesia:**
Ignoring the historical context of the Gaza conflict perpetuates misunderstanding. A comprehensive examination of historical events is vital to appreciate the complexities that continue to shape the region.

### 9. **Human Rights and Accountability:**
While human rights concerns are valid, attributing them solely to one party oversimplifies the issue. Holding all parties accountable for their actions is crucial for achieving a just resolution.

### 10. **Neglecting Voices for Peace:**
Focusing solely on conflict perpetuates a negative narrative. Overlooking voices advocating for peace and dialogue hinders progress toward a sustainable and harmonious resolution.

In the labyrinth of misinformation surrounding Gaza, it is imperative to approach the situation with a discerning eye. By dismantling these misconceptions, we can pave the way for a more informed and constructive dialogue, fostering understanding and empathy amid the complexities of the region.
