The Guru is just a failable fellow who doesn't know more than the blind sheep following them.
That was the point of the OP.
I was talking about observing your mind, because if you do you will realise you are never alone.
The mind is the mediator. You need no special practices or someone who thinks they're special.
It is happening right now and always and all 'spiritual teachings' are garbage.

Being part of a special lineage, and having a book to sell, doesn't mean you're the arbiter of wisdom.
It only means some people think you're special and will listen to you and buy your book!
Yogananda purchased the hotel in 1925 and immediately set about transforming its grounds into a lush and expansive oasis that includes a wishing well, an outdoor “temple of leaves,” a koi pond, trickling waterfalls and plenty of benches for meditation.
[Central to Yogananda’s teaching is the idea that one doesn’t have to renounce worldly life or live in a cave to have a direct encounter with God. He taught that blissful, divine communion is available to all, and that methods developed in India thousands of years ago represent the fastest path to establishing that connection./ex]

Plenty of people don't accept either.
Not saying there aren't things to be learned from them, or from Hinduism in general.
I'll just say none of them have ever have impressed me with anything I wouldn't have thought of myself.
Seems like they mostly just state the obvious.
But again, not saying all. You do you.
