Israel has lost “world sympathy” due to its actions in Gaza, which could fuel a much wider regional crisis, a leading Israeli-born academic has told The National.
Yossi Mekelberg warned that the conflict had reached a “boiling point” with the deaths of more than 8,000 Palestinian civilians, inexorably heightening the risk of spillover to other parts of the region.
The high civilian death toll reported by the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry, which includes 2,700 children, is also having a detrimental effect on Israel’s mission to destroy the militant group by potentially sending more Palestinians into its ranks, he said.
They felt that they needed to react with as much power as possible to stabilise the situation and to restore some deterrence but in this process, so many civilians have been killed on the Palestinian side, which is having a destabilising impact on the region.”
Breaking News: Just now, #Hamas snipers have reportedly killed dozens of children and women on the streets, targeting those attempting to travel from north to south #Gaza and those displaying white flags as a sign of peace. [/quote[

Israel has lost “world sympathy” due to its actions in Gaza,
By what percentage has Israel lost "world sympathy"?
Is "world sympathy" a necessary commodity that a country must have for it to act in its own self interest? And if so how much "world sympathy" must a country possess?
Many are calling Israel's strikes as genocidal violence.
How many? Do the numbers of people calling Israel's strikes a genocide of violence out number those that do not? And if so by how much? How many people around the world dont care eather way? By what mechanism does a country need to be concerned with the support it has from the citizens of other countries let alone their own country?
What power is there showing anecdotal examples of people who support Israel or hamas in this conflict?
