Trump attorneys were denied Wednesday when they asked for an immediate and direct verdict in the Trump Organization civil trial following testimony from ex-attorney Michael Cohen.

Cohen admitted during testimony that the former president did not ask him to inflate his finances on a personal financial statement.

The former president and 2024 GOP presidential front-runner and his ex-attorney found themselves in the same courtroom for a second day in a row amid the civil trial stemming from New York Attorney General Letitia James’ yearslong investigation into the Trump Organization and Trump family businesses.

But, but, isn't that the entire premise of this witch hunt? Cohen is the guy who started all this. And when he's on the stand, under oath, all of the sudden, Trump never told me to do that? W the actual F? Why is there still a trial happening?

It was unraveling already, but not it seems the case is no longer a case and the judge is just hoping for some miracle to keep it afloat.

You may want to actually do some research into Cohen's testimony. He very much did testify that Trump would give him and Weisselberg arbitrary valuations and it was their job to make the numbers fit.

On top of that, Trump isn't the sole defendant in this case. So far we already have Weisselberg and McConney testifying the numbers they submitted in financial statements were less than honest.

he was asked directly if Trump told him to inflate numbers, and he had to tell the truth. The truth was no, Trump did not tell him to do that.

So we are back to the games DERPs play, that he "inferred" that, or his persona suggested that. Just like when he told folks to peacefully march to the capitol, that really mean, for a small section of the crowd to become violent.

I don't know if you will ever be free of your TDS enough to look back on this and see it for what it is. But perhaps on day you will. Till then, don't spend it all in one place.

In doing my own taxes, value is such a fungible thing. Is it what you paid for it, what someone else would pay for it, what is it worth if you had to sell it today, tomorrow or some time in the future?

Ok, do the depreciation thing, some assets go up, some go down. What if it breaks before its used by date, what if it is a strong machine that just keeps running. What is the right number the buyer will accept? Some won't touch it if too cheep, others if too expensive.

It hurts my head some of this accounting stuff, especially when it comes to forecasting.

So some accountant says too high, another too low, show me the money.

Once again, Cohen's testimony meshes with the rest of the testimony we've heard so far. The Trump Organization was intentionally inflating the value of their assets and then submitting those numbers to banks and insurers.

a reply to: network dudeIf Cohen can't back up his allegations, then that means James doesn't have hard evidence that Trump defrauded banks or investors. James likely wants to present all the evidence before deciding whether to file a lawsuit against Trump.

Oh they see that Trump is getting shafted, plain as day…..they don’t care because their feelz have been hurt by Trump for 8 years straight.

I guess a secure border, low gas prices, low inflation etc. are not for everyone.

Cohen's testimony doesn't exist in a vacuum. It is supported by other testimony.

That said, if Cohen is such a consummate liar, then wouldn't he be the perfect person to hire if you were attempting to commit fraud?
