The sad thing, at least to me, is that in this day in age you cannot depend on others to protect you. You, almost always, have to take that on yourself to protect yourself, your property, and your loved ones.

If Uvalde is any indication on how, the average, police officer will react to any sort of active shooter scenario, we are all royally screwed. If police will fail to charge on, and prevent parents from doing what they are failing to do, what does that say about us as a society?

The problem I see in this situation, in my personal experience, is that people drink at bowling alleys. And as a responsible gun owner/ccw holder, when alcohol is involved, firearms are not. That in itself will take away a high percentage of people that would be carrying in any capacity.

This is, also, a pretty good showing of "when the bullets start flying, the number of macho men/hard core women in the room, fall to essentially zero". People want to talk a big game and be seen as the hero, but when it comes time to do hero $#!T, they are nowhere to be found.

But at the end of the day, the media and all who blindly follow it, will make this a gun issue and make no comment about the persons mental health or any other factors that are in paly here. There has never bee a gun problem in this country, it has always been a people/mental health issue.

There were at least 3 heros who tried to go after him. Two men after they got their wives and kids to safety charged the shooter, and the bar manager after rescuing someone, tried to stab the shooter with a big knife. Another woman called 911 but then was killed. You can look up stories about the victims online.
