I'm not happy with Mike Johnson.

Funny how people can see tyhings so differently.

All of the things you listed as reason to not like him, are reasons that I do like him.

I was really upset when I thought the RINO Emmer was going to get in, thankfully, we got a MAGA guy...

How about 'y'all', instead of you guys, youse, you people, people like you?

y'all works for me. Sounds like my family in Idalou, Tx. I just sold the family farm to an international consortium, but kept the oil and mineral rights, I don't even know why...I won't live long enough to spend all that money. I just created an endowment to the Univ. of NM.

I probably should retire but my Union gig is so much fun.

But I believe he has a burning love for America, and hates in his soul to see what is going on. I feel the same way!

I believe you do and believe it or not I do as well, it's just that I think we have different versions of what we think America was, is and could be. And in that regard I think Trump does as well. The America he believes in is a place where an overly self serving 13 year old can, with the aid of his daddies money and the skill to skirt the laws of the nation as well as the simple standards of civility can reach the wondrous heights of 'obscene wealth.

Its a weak argument to say any politician 'doesn't care about you'.
Sure, I get that. However I stand by it in this case because it's not just you who he has no interest in but anyone other than those who will make him their king. And even those he will easily toss aside when they either find him at fault or no longer have a purpose he can utilize, such as Giuliani.

The 75 million Americans have a burning passion for love of America too. And because world views are similar, he is the flagbearer because he is in a position of power to be so.

This is what stymies me. How is it possible that you believe he has similar world views. When was the last time you had a chance to spend your money on opening new wealth generating operations around the world? For that matter, I doubt you had a daddy who gave your first two million and then later more and more so you could go out and make billions more. How can you believe that your visions and beliefs are ''similar''.I just don't get it. He says he does, sure he does, but does he? You say he does, I say he doesn't and that he is just playing you.

If you want to skip the rest of that above, at least can we discuss this statement?

I believe there is a way to survive a world dominated by corporations.

Can you please give me some hints of how this can be done. Boycott them? I have tried that. Boycotted McDonalds for decades. Wouldn't go into a Walmart for decades. I'm still boycotting Union 76 for their oil spill in Santa Barbara way back in the sixties. And a fine lot that has helped.

Gonna make laws about stunting their power? Oh please, focus on the way the laws have been pushed in their favor by Democrat and Republican alike for the last fifty years. Look how the SC has come down in their favor for the same period of time. It's monstrous .

So sure, gonna get rid of Obama and his ilk. AND THEN worry about the corporations. So do you think that then we will find leaders to limit the power of corporations in this country? Do you think that will work? Hell no, the first thing that will happen will be that they will be bought off too. And do you think that Trump would not take whatever power and money the international corporate system would offer him in a heartbeat? If they offered him enough to put him in the top tier of Forbes yearly list?

And please, one last thing for this post.

We know it in our guts.

is this NOT the very thing that conservatives chide liberals for? Feelz?

Im not sure what 13 year old you are talking about, but I believe in an America where a person that works hard can have a worthwhile life. I still believe in the American Dream and so the millions that want to come here. Opportunity. We can all believe in the sovereignty of the US and in the Constitution, rich or poor. On that regard, I believe Trump is less of a threat to these basic values than any democrat. I'd like a different republican, but if it's Trump, I will crawl over broken glass to vote for him and burn sage and say prayers that my vote gets counted correctly.

You seem to know exactly what a person whom you have never even met REALLY thinks and feels. All I can say is that it says more about YOU than about Trump. I think it's foolish. You can like some public person, or they can rub you wrong, but there is no way that you can get inside their head and know what they are about. It irks me that you Trump haters try, and you sound far more controlled by the hate you hold than those who worship him. I absolutely despise Biden and Obama and Kamala, and I don't spend a moments time trying to figure them out and convince others that I know the real person past what I see and hear on TV. Don't trust them, have heard what they have to say, and disagree with all of it. End of story. But you, my friend are obsessed to an unhealthy extent. Way more that someone enamored of the man.

I really don't boycott corporations. I either buy their product or I don't. I think they are foolish to involve themselves in politics at all. I invest in corporations. That has made me very comfortable in my old age. We are all free to do so. I have no problem with government bringing corporations back into balance, and reasonable regulations. Corporations provide good livelhoods for millions of people. I actually believe that corporations should not pay any tax. They should pay heavy fines if they break laws. And their officers should be liable too.

And for my last comment: knowing something in your guts is known as intuition. That's quite different than feelings.

Hope I addressed all your points.

I just got back from Roswell, where I watched the eclipse. Went to Carlsbad Caverns and Mesilla.
I was born and raised in Las Cruces. Live in CA now. Comfortably retired on a DoD pension.

Nice meeting a fellow New Mexican. BTW: My great grand uncle was Jim White of Carlsbad and White City fame.

Thanks for the rundown. The 13 year old is of course the unhappy 13year old that is trapped inside of Trump and controlling everything he does.

I still believe in the American Dream and so the millions that want to come here. Opportunity.

As would I CA, but for one thing, I know it's a fraud. We both know that that ''dream'' was set up in the Constitution. And we both know that that was written only by rich wight men (no let's not get into the race thing here) of European ancestry, privilege for a specific sex and privilege for those with a specific level of wealth. It was around 60 years before universal white male suffrage was accepted. That was plenty of time for those founders to set things up for themselves and their descendants.Suffrage for other races and oh, that other sex took quite a bit longer. THAT American Dream was Their Dream and any semblance of it that remained was only a shadow of that promise.

. I'd like a different republican

I knew we could arrive at a consensus somewhere. Me too. As a registered Republican I never once place my primary vote for the winning candidate. Twice I voted for Ron Paul and twice he was passed over by the majority of voting Republicans, that is unless we want to suggest that the RNC covered up a massive election fraud.

It irks me that you Trump haters try, and you sound far more controlled by the hate you hold than those who worship him. I absolutely despise Biden and Obama and Kamala,

We differ here Ca. Where you appear to gleefully despise Biden and Obama And Harris, I do not hate Trump. If I hated Trump it wold only diminish my concerns over the poison I see that he has injected into the GOP and society in general.

My hope is that there is a possibility that we both have gleaned even a smidge more of understanding about one another and that we might be able to continue our conversations in a fruitful manner.

I mention Biden, Obama and Harris in passing. And I do hate them. Fundamentally change America? GTFO then, if they don't like it. I end there. I don't analyze them, I just watch them. You drone on and on about how you are inside Trumps head and can read everything about what he thinks. Thats the part that isn't healthy.

And guess what? Most people I meet, there is a 13 year old inside them too. We are all just elderly children about half the time. I try hard to stay 13, otherwise, life at 68 is hard.

If you don't hate Trump, you certainly fake it well.

Im not a republican. I am one of those Independents in the middle. But I haven't voted democrat since Bill Clintons first admin. Not for a single one. I vote 3rd party frequently, but that doesn't make a drop of difference in california.

a reply to: MoreCoyoteAngels You need to find a way out of California, I did, twenty years ago.

I also voted for Clinton once and only then to avoid a second term of Mr. CIA Bush and his new world order. I too voted mostly for third parties, and as I mentioned in a couple of elections because Paul had not made it out of primaries.

Obama, once and then back to third parties. Clinton once because of Trump. Biden once because of Trump but never again.

Of all my votes, and I have been voting since 68, my favorite vote went to the Citizen's Party with Barry Commoner as the candidate. They had a one word policy platform that year. It was ''Bull#''.

Hmm...For Trump’s Enemies, it is a Great Way to Deflect or to blunt the very many Serious Questions about President Joe Biden’s own Cognitive Abilities . Hmm.. MSM Must Not go there , eh ?

Other than the Alleged Erratic Behavior , which Donald Trump has always Exhibited being a Distinct Personality , Mr. Trump is a Model of Mental Health Compared to the Current President . Yes , Mr. Trump Rants and Raves at his Rallies , it's an American Tradition in the Political Ring , and is Most Effective in Stirring the Masses to Action . Why do seem to Hate this Charismatic Man of the People so Much > ? ........Hmm.........
