Guess whooooo?

Well, here I am, and I'm not sorry tonight for having no duties. I have missed just darting around the threads and saying what I think. I always tried to keep that 'basic membership' ideal alive, and still play in the Haiku thread and the Short Story forum, but something got lost along the way.

So it's me, starting anew. I like to read a LOT. Once I got a Kindle ap on my phone, I was in heaven. I can tolerate waiting for anything, as long as I can read. My Mom taught me to read when I was four, and it has been my salvation -- along with music -- all my life.

I don't know if I'm every going to be a moderator again -- all that falls into the current great unknown. It's not really important to me to be a moderator, but it is important to me to continue to help members as the opportunity presents itself. I love ATS. It took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out that I had to make 20 posts before I could send a PM or post on various threads.

I don't mind at all being reborn here . I am 65 years old, and I've seen a lot, and travelled a lot. I have no regrets, because all that horrible stuff that happened was part of my brick-by-brick formation, and I'm glad for who I became.

I dabble with theoretical physics, and I'm a research bear. I love research, and lean heavily upon vetted (by my definition) reports/studies which follow the scientific method. I play guitar every day and have done so most of my life. The sea is a hard stone's throw from our house, and me and my Darlin' love just being in it, with no purpose other than to absorb its energies. I love to cook, and I'm not half bad at it.

I am afraid for/of the world and can't understand why world leaders want to metaphorically stand knee-deep in gasoline and quibble about who has the most matches, when everyone knows it only takes one.

This is the first time since I came here in 2008 that I had an Introduction thread. Most of you are really quite fond to me. Most of you seem like family, even or especially when we fight.

We are frequently measured by our ability to adapt.

Good to see you've found your way back!

This event is keeping us on our toes. Seems that we are being prepared to handle more of what is to come in the next three years as technology and finances are hijacked more and more as time goes on.

Always keep alert and be conscious that things can go sour in our lives and in society, but do not let it make you crazier than you already are. Face it, everyone is a little nuts about one thing or another, if that was not the case, it would be a really boring world.

We have a lot in common. I love to read. I still remember when I learned. My dad had checked out a book at the Denver Public Library, downtown, when i was 3-years-old, and one night sat down and started to teach me the letters and then the phonics. And I was reading the book in a good half hour. Since then I have always been hooked on books as well. I've probably read thousands over the years. Maybe that is an exaggeration? Really have no idea.

My wife and I love being on the beach as well.

I have hope for the future. It is bright for humankind. Brighter than many imagine. I'm fond of you too. Hope you and your wife are well.

I really want the site to be back to normal, I do not like having to learn who is who all over again.

I am too old for that.

I hope people just tried to keep their names as close as they could. What I hope is that this isn't gonna happen again anytime soon .... I hVe other numbers I can put in but I don't particularly like the numbers.

Many names are similar as well as many avatars. As Ricky pointed out above we now have an increased challenge to be alert and conscious.

It is very much like being re-born.

I used to be Mantiss2021, before whatever happened, happened. I've had to return to a new version of the old identity I had before the last time what happened, happened.

Some may find all this confusing.


I think I'll just view it as an opportunity to party with my, now multiple, personalities.

No one knows anything and we are all in the same boat. Even the mods can't log in and have to rejoin like you and me.

Well at least one that I know of and that's DTOM.
