Oh. Did he give reasons?

I don't really care what reasons there are.

As the entire point of a trial, bench or jury, is to get to the factual nature of the allegations and defense.

Wouldn't you agree?

Yes. But I would be interested to know the reasons.

Presumably, he had some?

Pg 13 and pg 14 of the ruling.

Disregarding, and admonishing the Trump defense over the "worthless" doctrine.

The only expert brought fourth was tossed. So clearly the judge is a better expert by deductive reasoning.....

Do you have a link to the ruling, please?

Do you mean this?

"1d. at 107-108. Defendants further submit the affidavit and deposition transcript of Robert Unell, who purports to be an expert in commercial real estate, for the proposition that because of “the worthless clause” in the SFC, “no lender relies on these for what it is.” NYSCEF Doc. Nos. 1030 at 183-184; 1031. However, defendants’ reliance on these “worthless” disclaimers is worthless. The clause does not use the words “worthless” or “useless” or “ignore” or “disregard” or any similar words. It does not say, “the values herein are what I think the properties will be worth in ten or more years.” Indeed, the quoted language uses the word “current” no less than five times, and the word “future” zero times"

Sounds like a rubbish argument to me but as I don't know NY law or any of the case law I'll have to defer to those who do.

Thanks though.

You certainly can disagree, as can the judge. Also, you can disagree with the judge and still think Trump is guilty.

However, when expert testimony is produced, and the judges response is "nuh-uh" and provides no counter evidence, nor does the OAG, then it is to be assumed that the judge is the better if not preferred expert then.

Question:

Do you give the same deference to judges in the UK?

Are appeals a thing? How often are they approved?

Are your judges always right and above partisanship?

"Do you give the same deference to judges in the UK?"

It doesn't generally do to slag them off.

"Are appeals a thing? How often are they approved?"

Yes, they are. I don't have any statistics, but I have had quite a few successful appeals.

"Are your judges always right and above partisanship?"

Not always - see above.

Generally, if they have some sort of personal interest they recuse themselves.

I haven't come across a partisan Judge. Like anyone, some are assholes, allegedly.

Interesting way to "fall apart" upwards, with straight up disgorgement, innit?

The AG's office has said it will ask for a total of at least $250 million in total "disgorgement" from her lawsuit's defendants: Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and the longtime Trump Organization executives Allen Weisselberg and Jeffrey McConney.

The figure includes many millions of dollars in loan-interest discounts and property-sale profits, including from Trump's sale of the Old Post Office lease, which he'd owned in running the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC.

The full disgorgement amount is set to be determined by the judge sometime after trial testimony concludes in late December.

Son burn: Donald Trump Jr. learns on the stand that AG wants even more fraud penalties thanks to his $60M golf-course sale

Judge Engomoron is demonstrating how crazy many liberal judges are on the inside. This idiot is wearing his craziness on his sleeve...

Weirdness Abounds – New York Judge Engoron Expands Gag Order to Stop Trump Defense Attorneys from Discussing Instructions from Court Clerk.

The judge in the New York City case against Donald Trump and the Trump organization has transparently been a little goofy. From the first day when he posed for the cameras, to the sketchy application of legal review within the case, Judge Arthur Engoron exhibits the classic traits of being weird and unstable.

An unstable terrorist who happens to be a judge.

Engoron gave Kise all the chances in the world. He's lucky all he's getting is a gag order. If any other lawyer behaved the way Kise had been they'd be sanctioned, if not found in contempt.

“She’s a civil servant. She’s doing what I ask her to do,” the judge snapped, according to the New York Daily News. “I sometimes think there may be a bit of misogyny in you referring to my female principal law clerk.”

Yea, judge made it all fair game with his own childing behavior.
