What amount of weight should anyone take from a Minister of Education's comments, who has no involvement with the country's defense? None, I should think.

Not true.
The comment was made by an official and it's very serious as it can be perceived as a threat. He doesn't have to be a defense minister or part of the military. How did you manage to raise the bar?! It's truly unbelievable!

Iran is the usual suspect but Turkey is the elephant in the room.

Jumping to assumptions gets us nowhere. Let's wait and see if anyone takes this seriously. It will probably just be ignored as Netanyah has more important issues than replying to a lowly opinionated minister of Turkey.

I keep warning people about Turkey's President Erdogan. Too many articles about his secret desire to raise the Ottoman empire. I started questioning his true intentions for the region when I read about all of his meetings with Egypt's short term Muslim president, Mohamad Morsi, back in the day before he was removed.

True.

Turkey has never been a democracy.
It's just an authoritarian regime controlled by the Armed Forces. The claims made by Turkey-friendly sources this is a secular country are just laughable.

What assumptions?
It looks like a threat. And has been reported extensively.

Turkey is no friend of Israel and never was.

I'm noticing a theme here; it seems most world leaders are bent on destruction and the majority of citizens in any given country highly disapprove of their corrupt leadership.

I would like to think there will be a peaceful resolution to all of the wars going on around the world, but that doesn't seem to be what our leaders have plans for. Our own POTUS seems to have led the charge against global peace.

So you are saying that the prime minister is happy to let what was said stand?

Then other countries should assume its Turkey's position.

Judging by Bibi's corruption scandals, and the current situation in Gaza, I'd think about this friendly reminder to be careful what you wish for.
You really think Israels neighbors would sit on their hands while "half a genocide" unfolds in Gaza?

Our "leaders" lost all contact to reality, and we're about to find out the hard way.

You stand correct on this.
And I have said it several times in one of my threads. The best possible solution is directly to the negotiation table because the victims will multiply on both sides.

If Hamas can do so much harm to Israel and kill over 1,200 people in just 2-3 days, imagine what other countries could do that have a proper army many more soldiers to use. At which point the war will be extended with many more countries joining and taking sides and eventually a world war.

I am not saying that. I am saying the minister of education's comment which was actually this: "One day they will shoot you too, you will die," - he wrote in a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) in response to a video posted by about Israeli air strikes in Gaza.

To me it's not a position, it's a statement by a lowly deputy minister of education of Turkey, which can be taken many ways.

Has there been any reply or rebuttal?

Government ministers don't go to twitter and make direct or indirect threats by the way, or what it might be perceived as a threat. That's a diplomatic blunder.

if the PM doesn't correct tit, its safe to assume the deputy speaks for the govt but the govt also has plausible deniability. Like you seem stuck on..

If they don't fire him it shows you where their government stands.

It would be over already? Which is why I don't think Netanyahu will survive this politically once the dust settled.

He damaged Israels reputation like nobody before, undid decades of Mossad work with his lust for power and divided Israeli society in the process. Heck... I wouldn't even be surprised if his own team decided to have a "tragic accident" narrative prepared by now, just in case.

It's a blunder for them.
Unless he represents part of the Turkish Society which sees Israel as an enemy.

His X post has been deleted. Now what can we determine from that action? Either Elon deleted it because 'no free speech for you but only for me' or his higher ups demanded he delete it. What could it be?

I'd go with the latter, why should Elon GAF?
