They never promised him anything. Current speculation is that the CR that was passed was supposed to be a bluff. McCarthy thought the Dems wouldn't pass it and as a result they would get blamed for the shut down. They called his bluff, he then went on TV saying the Dems wanted to shut down the government, even though they voted unanimously for the CR, and then he didn't offer them anything to save his ass.

He brought this on himself when he sold his soul to the extremist side of the Party in order to secure a title he thought he was entitled to.

Lol
Compromise is the cry
Then”they never promised him anything “
Too rich
What a load

And Jordan already doesn't have the votes.

Didn't it take 15 rounds of voting for Kevin McCarthy to get elected?

Jordan isn't McCarthy. McCarthy went in with a much more stable base than Jordan and it still took 15 rounds. Jordan wasn't even the first pick for Speaker this go around.

The longer this goes on the more likely some of the holdouts will be willing to work with the Dems to most likely elevate McHenry.

By CR, do you mean 45 day stopgap measure?

Congress is supposed to be passing budgets.

In any case, I think your theory is a bit far fetched.

We survived on CRs for years during the Obama admin. This is not a crisis.

Our elected leaders should be doing their jobs and not kicking cans.

If they won't do the job, they should be replaced, at the polls, which is why it's so important that our elections are fair, secure, and verifiable.

BREAKING: Jim Jordan Expects Another Speaker Vote, Seeks Meeting with 20 RINOs: “I’m Still Running for Speaker” (VIDEO)

It's not over for Jordan yet.

Personally, I think we need a speaker with some cojones.

Congress needs to get back to doing their jobs and DC needs serious oversight reforms.

These RINOs need to get on board, or otherwise risk being primaried. John Rutherford is in my district, and if he wants my vote, he's going to have to earn it.

They risk getting voted out either way. Most of them are from districts that voted for Biden.

That may be an indication of reasons for the hold out.

John Rutherford's district did not vote for Biden, I know that much.

There are some standing on principle but a lot of it comes down to the fact that their districts are toss ups and if they vote for someone as far Right as Jordan it will hurt them next year.

He's not going to give Republicans immunity from being investigated, like McCarthy did.

EXCLUSIVE: 13 of 22 RINO Holdouts Derailing Jim Jordan Are Connected to FTX and Voter Mule Donations

Why would Scalise want to undermine the clear choice of the people and President Trump? Evidence unearthed by grassroots researchers in Scalise’s home state of Louisiana indicates that Scalise is has taken money from the FTX money laundering scandal.

In fact, thirteen of the twenty-two holdout RINOs also accepted donations from Ryan Salame – almost all of them maximum donations.

The RINOs who accepted these funds include Kay Granger (TX-12th), Mike Simpson (ID-2nd), Carols Gimenez (FL-28th), Jen Higgins (VA-2nd) , Marinette Miller-Meeks (IA-2nd), Mike Lawler (NY-17th), Steve Womack (AR-3rd), Mike Kelly (PA-16th), Mike Simpson (ID-2nd), Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-26th), Linda Chavez-Deremer (OR-5th),  Andrew Garbarino (NY 2nd), Tony Gonzales (TX-23rd), and John Rutherford (FL-5th).

As previously uncovered by The Gateway Pundit and the O’Keefe Media Group, donor mules are people whose identities are being used without their knowledge to launder large amounts of cash into campaign coffers of politicians. These fraudulent donations make it appear that these politicians have significant support from real people, when they are really being funded illegally by special interests.

Steve Scalise’s FEC records indicate significant donor mule activity. For example, a retired woman from Marietta, Georgia is credited with donating to Scalise 98 times in a single day with amounts varying from $3 to $22.50

After three internal votes, the GOP still doesn't have anyone with enough votes to be named Speaker designee. Emmer is currently leading with 100.

MSNBC is unhappy that House Speaker candidate EMMER signed on to the multi-state lawsuit demonstrating that Joe Biden did not win. The one that our US Supreme Court rejected without even looking at it.

Does this make Emmer a good guy?

Don't change the rules for ejecting the speaker, and let's put Emmer in there to find out what he is made of.

Give him until the end of the year. There are only 21 working days scheduled.
