Nothing good, after the spending spree during and since covid a lot of things will take a hit, and yes some things will shutdown we could do without.

Govt Shutdown.

For a time the critical things will still be funded, but eventually because of the stupidity of congress those will start seeing cuts.

What happens when Nov 17th (CR expires) and there still no speaker?

Monday, October 16, 2023

There is a vote tomorrow. An attempt to elect Congressman JIM JORDAN (R-Ohio) as House Speaker.

There are only a few holdouts on the Republican side of the aisle. Jordan can lose no more than 4 Republicans. Zero Democrats are expected to vote for him. In fact the Democrat minority leader, HAKEEN JEFFRIES says James Jordan is the worst possible choice for House Speaker.

Hakeem's sentiments tell me that JAMES JORDAN will be a SUPERB MAGA-oriented Speaker of the House.

Here are a couple of articles related to tomorrow's vote...

1.) Jordan's opposition are becoming his supporters: www.axios.com...

2.) Conservative Donors Will Punish Reps Who Don't Vote for Jordan: dailycaller.com...

3.) Former/Next President - Donald Trump Fully Supports Jordan: apnews.com...

BIG DAY 10/17/2023!

As of last count, there were still at least five holdouts.

I feel like it's worth mentioning that in Jordan's 16 years in Congress he's failed to pass a single piece of legislation.

It's also worth noting that no democrat would ever vote yes (rarely) on a republican bill, plus the liberty destroying democrat president would never sign anything into law that actually benefited Americans.

Having said that, passing nothing is sometimes better than all the freedom destroying and harmful legislation that democrats always come up with.

I'm not even sure if he's had a bill make it out of committee to a floor vote. Not even his own party is supporting his bills. That would indicate he's an extremist that doesn't represent his party.

So why should someone that isn't even representing the majority of their own party be selected to lead all of the House?

The thing 'moderate' republican politicians dont understand is that the vast majority of Republican voters are sick of moderate republicans (democrat light).

if you doubt this please review the republican primary race.

Jeffries must be trying to get Jordan elected. If he is that afraid of him, he is my guy.

I'm sure Pelosi told him to shut up, which is why Jeffries tirade against Jordan lasted for only about 5 hours.. and was not published by 90% of the US media.

The party is moving to be more moderate when it comes to abortions, but is moving to be more conservative and law and order, when it comes to taking down high level crooks.

When top people fear maga candidates, essentially they are saying they want the crooks to be left alone.

Then why do they keep voting in moderate Republicans to Congress while the Freedom Caucus only makes up a handful of members?

From the Dem caucus this morning, it sounds like Jeffries is floating the idea of elevating McHenry. They would just need to convince a few GOP not happy with Jordan to vote with them.

Your so called 'handful of members' has a handful of opposition right now. 5 holdouts, that are feeling very exposed right now.

Recent reports I'm seeing from this morning say there's 20+ possible No's with that number expected to grow if it goes beyond the first round of voting.

Good time to remind everyone that none of this would be happening if the Democrats had not lied to McCarthy.

McCarthy passed a bipartisan Continuing Resolution that pissed off a few Republicans. He did that because the Democrats who were on board promised him that they would support him if a vote came up to remove him as Speaker. That was the compromise they made--give us a bipartisan CR that we can support and we'll make sure those few "extreme" Republicans can't remove you.

They lied. When the vote came up to remove McCarthy, all the Democrats who made that deal with him backstabbed him by voting with all those "extreme" Republicans.

I hope the new Republican Speaker, whoever it is, is taking notes. You cannot make deals with Democrats. Not a one of them can be trusted. They don't believe in bipartisanship. They believe in getting whatever they can and then stabbing you in the back.

Don't give them a single thing. I don't care if zero bills get passed the rest of this Congress. Treat them like the children they are and make zero compromises with them from now on.

**Also, the Democrats talking all this # about how the Republicans are putting theater ahead of helping Israel and Ukraine--the Democrats could end this right now by supporting McCarthy or some moderate Republican for Speaker. But the longer this goes on, the worse the media makes it look for the Republicans. Democrats want that more than they care about helping Israel or Ukraine.**

They never promised him anything. Current speculation is that the CR that was passed was supposed to be a bluff. McCarthy thought the Dems wouldn't pass it and as a result they would get blamed for the shut down. They called his bluff, he then went on TV saying the Dems wanted to shut down the government, even though they voted unanimously for the CR, and then he didn't offer them anything to save his ass.

He brought this on himself when he sold his soul to the extremist side of the Party in order to secure a title he thought he was entitled to.

Stefanik nominates Jordan. Aguilar nominates Jeffries. Current attendance in the House is 432 out of 433 members. Everything I'm seeing reported says that the Dems have full attendance. So that would mean that the GOP's already narrow majority is smaller than normal.

And Jordan already doesn't have the votes.
