This civil case has been quietly lurking in the background for quite some time but it's been overshadowed by the criminal cases against Trump.

And now the biggest aspect of the case has been decided before the trial starts due to the judge granting a partial summary judgment stating that the Trump Organization committed fraud by overvaluing its assets.

Let me read between the lines here

So what you're really saying is now that nothing has come of all the Bogus Criminal Charges , Now they will attack him for allegedly inflating his Finances ?

mmmk Keep up the Good Work I'm sure something will stick eventually , Even a Broken Clock is right twice a day.
Trump’s father was a criminal & he has followed suit .
Im a liberal & don’t defend Biden at all , so why can’t you see the bullsnip Trump has fed his followers from day one.
We will never have decent people running our country as long as both sides blindly follow their chosen criminals .
Trump is a puke of a human & belongs underneath the rest .

I understand that. What I am saying is this is a civil case about someone inflating property values. There are no victims.

This is not a criminal case ....right?

If you shot someone you could be charge with murder. A criminal case.
If you shot someone you could be sued. A civil case.

This is just like the Carroll case. It looks real bad. The media can run with it but in the end...

There were no victims in this case at all.
Fraudulent tax scams are crimes against every working person in New York state .
Taxes fund schools , public safety & infrastructure.
How is there no victims in this case ?
If you neighbor cheats on taxes , you are a victim of him if you legitimately pay your tax bills .

There were two orders. Trump's lawyers had filed a motion for summary judgment to dismiss the case. It was ruled against.

The NYAG filed a summary judgment motion to have the case decided without going to trial due to overwhelming evidence. It was partially granted.

Yes. The summary judgment motion was on the basis that it claimed there was no evidence. The Judge therefore had to decide whether there was evidence.

He ruled that there was.

Etc.

An interlocutory judgment.

The victims were Deutsche Bank and Bally's. However, James filed the case on behalf of the people of New York, citing Executive Law 63.

12. Whenever any person shall engage in repeated fraudulent or illegal acts or otherwise demonstrate persistent fraud or illegality in the carrying on, conducting or transaction of business, the attorney general may apply, in the name of the people of the state of New York, to the supreme court of the state of New York, on notice of five days, for an order enjoining the continuance of such business activity or of any fraudulent or illegal acts, directing restitution and damages and, in an appropriate case, cancelling any certificate filed under and by virtue of the provisions of section four hundred forty of the former penal law   3 or section one hundred thirty of the general business law, and the court may award the relief applied for or so much thereof as it may deem proper.  The word “fraud” or “fraudulent” as used herein shall include any device, scheme or artifice to defraud and any deception, misrepresentation, concealment, suppression, false pretense, false promise or unconscionable contractual provisions.  The term “persistent fraud” or “illegality” as used herein shall include continuance or carrying on of any fraudulent or illegal act or conduct.  The term “repeated” as used herein shall include repetition of any separate and distinct fraudulent or illegal act, or conduct which affects more than one person.  Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, all monies recovered or obtained under this subdivision by a state agency or state official or employee acting in their official capacity shall be subject to subdivision eleven of section four of the state finance law.

In connection with any such application, the attorney general is authorized to take proof and make a determination of the relevant facts and to issue subpoenas in accordance with the civil practice law and rules.  Such authorization shall not abate or terminate by reason of any action or proceeding brought by the attorney general under this section.

Hang on. The Judge's ruling was against Trump's lawyers application to dismiss the suit?

The trial will continue:

www.theguardian.com...

Well, that was very direct.

Judge clearly spelled that out.

And, y’all grovel to a man who inherited a FORTUNE and still had to cheat. And, you’re stuck with him which you’ll never admit sucks.

I actually had a very 4 good years under Trump, the best compared to the 10 years before, so he was great. He was also making the choices we needed to do 10+ years ago, so I'm not stuck with him... I was stuck with Biden and I spent 4 years watching all the liberals in Portland see their quality of life go down the drain, it's the old saying "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face".

I just want someone that doesn't make every decision a bad one. Has there been even one thing Biden has done that we could say had positive impact? I'm honestly asking...

Winning...

What does Biden or Trump have to do with Portland ?
Every state makes their own social laws & rules.
Biden isn’t a Senator , Congressman , Judge or police captain in Oregon last I checked .
Don’t blame immigration on Biden either because American’s young people don’t want to work anymore & who raised them that way ?
Portland has always been liberal , so who is to blame ?

Yes. But the were two separate orders. I posted the one refusing Trump's motion on the previous page. Here is the order partially granting the NYAG's motion.

No one is above the Law.

you sure about that ?

Should I pull out the list of Blatantly Corrupt Politicians or is it just Orange man bad .
There is a certain Senator from New Jersey who is a Democrat & is in hot water as we speak.
No one is above the law .
Trump is a criminal grifter who conned the religious right into believing that he was their saviour.
GW Bush & Cheney are free & uncharged with crimes, so where is that justice.
Hillary walks free to this day , where is her justice ?
All these politicians are crooks .
Do you call your local sheriff during a NASCAR race & demand there be speeding tickets handed out at Daytona ?
If Biden is criminal , which he is , how do you justify Trump as a moral upright citizen ?
Hypocrisy

Liberals/progressives don't care about Biden all they care about is trump. That means making exceptions if it means absolutely crushing the opposing tribe.

I'll hand it to the left they're absolutely savage with revenge to the point of excusing authoritarianism.

You can't even spell it out...

If inflating value or worth is the crime every business and property owner needs arrested in New York.

You know Its a sham you're just OK with crushing political enemies. I just wish progressives were honest about it

Back to my previous point, leaving aside any potential crime(s), does this not raise issues about Trump's honesty and judgment?

Relevant to a man running for the highest Public Office?

No?

Your opinion on that one means about as much as the judge wrote. Personal not legal. No worries.

Donald Trump has been a schmuck for decades. These cases never started until he beat HRC. If he was not running none of this would be happening.

Wonderful as ever, watching cult45 all desperately panicking, getting defensive, and lashing out emotionally because you can finally see the house of cards collapsing.

I love it. Honestly please keep on with the OMB and Biden stuff. It’s glorious watching the losing team trying to be smug again. Like in 2020.

Hilarious.

If the values were inflated he would pay MORE taxes. Inflated. Larger.

I think NY has it's priorities wrong because they are dropping billions on illegals and it is ALL tax payer funded. Where is the AG investigation on that?
