I agree with some of what you wrote and disagree with other parts but one aspect jumped out at me. That is the lack of trust in institutions.
Something that I struggle with is that we, as a society as large and complex as we are, absolutely NEED institutions ranging from law enforcement to
infrastructure and everything in between. Unfortunately, and leaving aside any conspiracy theories as to WHY they do what they do, the fact of the
matter is that many institutions have absolutely EARNED the distrust of the population.
We have health agencies out and out lying about “statistics” (lumping dying “with” Covid in with dying “of” Covid, for just one of many
examples). We have all this business about the Hunter Laptop Letter signed by all these former agency leaders. We have schools dropping academic
standards because some kids can’t or won’t keep up.
The thing is, these agencies out and out lie in recent years. I’m not talking about nuance or perspective. I’m talking about bold faces lies.
So, what do we do? We need these agencies but they have proven time and again to be untrustworthy and the corruption appears to be so ingrained.
It’s a sad state of affairs.
