This thread is not about who had what materials where.
The topic is about what Mitt said that is completely true to an extent. That extent being we certainly don't want someone with little to no experience running the country or part of any decision making processes.
I must say you really do make the community very welcoming.

Granted your assessment has a high level of probability. However, we are dealing with a system of thought that pretty much accepts things on it's face value. On the face of it, his comment and endorsement is a soulid comment and endorsement.
Regardless of his motives. To me, this is a major voice, a loud voice saying what is right. Us older people who will not be alive in ten years need to stop running for office and let the generations that will be alive ten and twenty and thirty hears from now pick up the reigns. And us who only vote should vote for younger people. I"m' Trump's age and I know that I"m slipping and others I know my age also know that they as well are too. So I say bollox to these elderly running for office. They are frauds.

I don't think age is that big a deal, provided the person is lucid. There are some senior citizens in the Congress that are very sharp mentally.
On the other hand, there are younger members like AOC, who are not only stupid, they're crazy.

The scumbags need to be weeded out, regardless of age. Sadly, it's not happening.

Lets be objective; 9/10 senior's that are lucid aren't sharp. They can't even follow instructions. They go from iPhone X's to iPhone 11's and act like the change was from books to computers. An 11 works the same as a X, ya know?

You can't have people who can't understand simple things making unilateral decisions for society. Lets talk about the exceptions to the rule here for a second...

Do you know how fast people deteriorate? You can go from fine to vegetable in a few weeks. Cognitive function has no physical tell. Look how much Joe Biden has deteriorated in just 3 years. He was still spry when he was campaigning, now he looks like he's holding two invisible brief cases and shuffles because he can't even lift his feet up.

The man said "I don't know about you, man, but, I'm going to go to bed" in the middle of a presser.

You can't have 80 year olds making decisions. Younger people can use older people as advisors; but they can't be the ones making the decision.

You also shouldn't have leadership in their 20's. There is a reason you're not eligible for presidency until you're 35, and honestly, that should be pushed to 40 as a man who's 37.

40-60 should be the age ranges for decision makers.

my theory
Romney, like a lot of DC Republicans, turned on Trump.
the Republicans back in Utah are very unhappy with this and he risks being primaried out, or at least a turbulent campaign for re-election.
I think he's read the tea leaves, packed his golden parachute, and is riding off to the sunset while he still has a decent reputation.

fwiw I think he would have been a much better President than Obama.

It's called Denial. It's like the 70 year old guy who doesn't want to wear his hearing aid. He'd rather go around yelling "WHAT!?" making everyone's life difficult because he can't be man enough to accept that his hearing is going.

They BELIEVE they are fit, but they aren't fit. I don't know that qualifies as fraud; but it is evidence of cognitive decline.

I doubt his motivations. But his statement is accurate. The senior citizens need to retire.

They should, but they won't. They are diehard power and status seekers. Kings and Queens in their own dementia.

We need to stop supporting them. We have danced to the tune of the Piper for so long that we follow without even trying. Caught up in our own little St. Vitus dance.

Our youth area not being given any worthy incentive to step into the quagmire we have created and try to push off as the American government.

Yes, he did. Thankfully...now let's get rid of the 2 front runners.

Both parties....and the others, deserve better. Amen

Coming from Romney, this is suspicious as hell. He knows the wind is blowing in an investigative direction, that he is up to his ears in?

Look for other RINOs to fall out.

Yes, Romney is right, its time for the USA to move on and get some younger blood in leadership positions.
Its bordering on the criminal that the two leading contenders for next years Presidential election are both in their late 70's/early 80's.
And they are both steeped in the partisan party politics that is slowly tearing America apart.

I have no idea who any likely candidates would be but I do know that the USA and the American people deserve far, far better than what they have at present.

But a cautionary note; younger doesn't automatically mean better. Just look at the self-serving, amoral, incompetents that we've had running our country for the last 40-50 years!

Trump=well it's Trump and comes with his own baggage of retribution. Not good and extremely dangerous considering his hard-core base wants the left locked up and or put down.

Kind of like you rabid, hardcore Libs want us dead or locked up?
From Biden on down to you.

Lol, he says this crap while gleefully watching 1000 Americans from J6 get destroyed and treated like prisoners in a NK jail. Watching Trump and most of his cabinet get railroaded by Soros DA’s all across the country. After squealing like a happy baby through 2 bogus impeachments.
Of coooooourse he says Trump is gonna do these things if he wins. When he didn’t do it first time around.
The retardation continues.

Now that’s a good take.
Hopefully such a thing would actually dislodge old Mitch and some other RINO fossils.
I think Romney did have a son connected to some of the Biden BS.

check out those "jitterbugs"!!!

I put a sim card in my tablet and now make/receive calls from that device.

And what we have now is as close to a monarchy as I can bear. We have a ruling class of politicians, not citizens who take time from their regular lives to serve their fellow citizens.

Id go even further and say that the Monarchy also consists of a rulling class of corporate elite who lobby politicians to do their bidding. For example, someone (probably the Military Industrial Complex) convinced Biden to send more weapons and aid to Ukraine after he said he would not do so.

Not even Trump truely went against the ruling corporate elite. Still waiting for a POTUS to truely go against them.

Just because I don't support Trump doesn't mean I'm not a republican. It's not my fault your view points are limited to that of Trump.
You mimick his rhetoric which is funny and sad. Honestly I think you should reevaluate your political views some. But I'm not you and frankly could care less about you or your view points. You have proven yourself to be uneducated politically and a follower not a leader.

That is EXACTLY what it means. If you don't stand with Trump you certainly don't stand with us or the rest of freedom loving America

Romney has been a proud anti trump Republican since before he decided to run for congress and he won his seat with voters knowing he was anti-Trump. I'm pretty sure he has pretty good approval ratings and Trump isn't all that popular in Utah even when it comes to Republicans (they seem to have no problem with anti-Trump Republicans).

And therein lays my major gripe about Trump. He never did plan on taking them out or even doing them any damage. What he wanted from the startt was just a larger piece of the pie for himself.

Yeah, that corporate elite, the real power, the real money. As I see it Trump could never really break into that club. Sure, he hobnobbed and schmoozed but he was really, at best, a second rate player in that field. I see his run for POTUS as nothing more an attempted end run around the line between his status and into the elite status with the real players.
