Orban Interview

This is an interesting interview. Orban says quite matter of factly what anyone not steeped in western propaganda already knows. The western media and politicians have been non stop lying to us, the Ukraine is losing this war quite badly (I would say the US is losing it via the Ukraine). In fact there was never any real chance of any other outcome. He also offers some wry humour (between the lines) with his take on Nordstream (that the US obviously blew up).

The idea that Putin will be thrown out is a western pipe dream according to him and shows an ignorance of Russian politics and worldview and a miscalculation of the Russian psyche and resolve. Though IMO if anything did happen to Putin that would be very dangerous, as whoever takes over could be far less patient and pragmatic.

The surprising part is that he sees Trump's reelection as the only way to stop this war and he praised Trump's foreign policy. The again, Trump was the least war mongering US leader since at least Jimmy Carter. He also kept direct lines of communication open with the so called "bad guys". It's a strange world where a numbskull like Trump appears the only genuine hope for peace. Or as Orban sees it, the only hope to save the west.

Seems his great fear is that as the Ukraine runs out of manpower, the west/US might send in troops, which would mean all bets are off and this would start WW3. Seems unlikely, but you never know, it's a strange time in history. Surely the western world has never been led by such a gaggle of incompetent and corrupt morons as these, not that I can ever remember.

It has always been too easy to sit in back in Washington and start/direct wars overseas (knowing you are protected by a couple of oceans). It would be a serious miscalculation to think that would apply to this conflict should it widen.Yet this latest neocon misadventure has been one huge miscalculation from the beginning.

With the Biden corruption claims, the fact that he is an obvious war monger and corporate shill not to mention dementia addled, his regime now trying remove his political opposition and is appearing more and more overtly fascist. If his reelection numbers plummet to the extent likely, could he widen the war to try improving his chances? Or I should say could the neocons who control him do this (I doubt Biden is capable of tying his shoelaces).

Orban is certainly right that this is an incredibly dangerous time we are living in.

And yet, if war mongering Biden says "please stop fighting and end this war" the only thing that would happen is the death of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, destruction of entire cities and the eradication of Ukraine as a sovereign country.

Because it is a strange time in history indeed when people twist themselves in a pretzel because they cant admit there is only one party of this war that could end it tomorrow.

If Ukraine are losing but at the same time taking back territory occupied by Russia ( which they are ), then i like it.

Lets hope Ukraine carry on losing until the last Russian invader is kicked out of their land.

Leopard tanks that were supposed to be game changers there during this summer offensive have been blown in the air.

Time to send in a few more multi billion dollar care packages, and hope for the best before the U.S. 2024 elections start and Biden is found lost in a closet somewhere with a Burisma hat.

And waste another 10s of thousands Ukraine lives in the proxy war against Russia until then.

That’s entirely false.

Ukraine could fortify it’s current “border” and simultaneously get a fast-track NATO membership. Russia gets a bunch of bombed out useless land and Ukraine now has full NATO presence.

That includes putting a lot of very powerful weaponry in striking distance of Crimea, too.

Russia “wins” the territory but loses basically everything else.

So, no, it’s not only Putin who can stop this war.

Anyone not steeped in Western propaganda simply knows the West is corrupt and crumbling and evil.

Evil, evil West, huh... that the Eastern people are always trying to run to when they escape. Notice how nobody ever runs into Russia, they always try to run away.

Consider this for a moment:

Everyone on ATS and in the world knows that the US has an immigration problem. People are DYING to get here, literally. They know this is a great life and they are sending their children on their own, some don't make it, because it's the best quality of life on planet Earth.

Russia has thousands of miles of open border. Does it have an immigration problem? Nope. Why?

Because no one wants to go there. The standards of life are poor and you may get shot for saying the wrong thing.

It's hard to take you Eastern propagandists seriously, when all your shouting comes from behind prison bars.

The OP recons Ukraine os losing the war. If Ukraine are taking back territory then how can that be? They should be losing territory if the OP is correct.
