An absence seizure causes a short period of “blanking out” or staring into space. Like other kinds of seizures, they are caused by brief abnormal electrical activity in a person’s brain.

Hopefully he doesn’t drive or hold a job that involves using his brain.

100% Agreed, have grand mal epillepsy myself but this looks classic petit mal/partial seizure down to the lip puckering motion and no eye blinking/movement.

He should stop driving and see a neurologist pronto.

A long time friend of mine had it when we were back in high school.

He zoned out in class a few times.

Fortunately, he has been seizure free for many years.

Mitch is getting on in years so I suppose it’s progressing.

The problem with term limits is that you end up further entrenching the "administrative state". They already have permanent positions and nearly infinite power behind the scenes and give congress the finger whenever they feel like it.

If you're going to enact term limits, you need to include the heads of the bureaucracy as well.

A better bet is to hold all of these aholes accountable to the law and the people.

But the truth is, neither term limits nor reigning in the administrative state is going to happen, but the latter IS where you need to start.

it's a problem today. What do we do about it right now? Go ahead, tell me to vote. I dare you. LOL!

It would take both waking up the sleepers and convincing the left they are wrong. I'm almost afraid they are somehow compromised or something. What's going on and has gone on isn't hid, and it's way wrong. But they have been led to believe that "democracy itself" will die if Trump gets power. Again. This time. And the left would never use these heavy handed tactics on others, ever.

Unfortunately we wont be able to change of these bureaucracies unless we can get representatives in there that are willing to make the change, its a vicious cycle of denial of access that is growing with each election.
You are right we need accountability.

I think that is why trump was elected the first time, that was part of his campaign and he did with confidence. But he failed to deliver

The top 3 republican candidates are all aware of the administrative state problems and could make strides in changing it if they have a house willing to work toward that end, but it won't be easy to say the least.

There are some cases before the supreme court right now that could also help...

Trump walked into a sh%tshow he couldn't have imagined the first time. He knows what to expect now. So does DeSantis and Ramaswamy.

This guy needs to retire and go away - seriously. I cannot believe anyone would support this guy remaining in public office or frankly employed in the private sector.

He’s all done - let it go - move on. I am floored that anyone in their right mind would still support this ding dong - and yes, I’ll clown on him because if he actually cared about the country he would have stepped down long ago.

Commercial airline pilots have a mandatory retirement age of 65 (with some lobby ongoing for this to be modified to 67).

Here, we have "pilots" of a craft (i.e the entire country) which has 332 MILLION passengers onboard!

"Death" should not be the mandatory retirement age for government officials.

Just a thought.

Oh, and there should be developed a mutually agreeable mental faculties test which is administered prior to any re-election to any office or House, Senate or SCOTUS position. Doesn't have to be a long test, but it needs to be timed.

I agree, yet, just like voting things can be a bit fudged too easily.

There should be a mandatory retirement age for elected office. More fossils in congress than the smithsonian. It’s pretty much a state-funded retirement home.

Mitch ...eh.

He is not president. Biden does this all day every day
and the same people worried here don't seem to care.

Meh

I was willing to cut Mitch some slack after the first episode. Despite the fact that his staff offered unsatisfactory explanations of the cause.

But now, unless some clear explanation is given for these episodes, it's time for him to step down.

Ageism is a real problem in this culture. And too often people are unwilling to make accommodations for older people who still have a lot to offer. So, if this is some type of manageable problem, and his doctors are just working through it, maybe I could see a path forward for him.

Otherwise, it's time to take all his riches and retire to some beautiful part of the globe. Some place where zone out isn't a problem, it's a lifestyle.

When he freezes, his eyes change and seem very sad. He looks as if he is about to cry.

It was a question about re-election.

I can't help but imagine that while he is at the podium, telling his lies and spin, he suddenly thinks of all the evil he has committed and allowed. At that moment a bit of conscience hits him, and he is buried by the weight of his sins. He wants to quit. He wants to stop and go home, but he can't, they won't let him. So he freezes, unable to continue and unable to stop, and he wonders what hell awaits him when he dies. He wants to cry.

This is a great opportunity for a entrepreneur:

Make a bobble head of Mitch with a turtle body....limited sales but I bet you could sell a few thousand or so. Maybe it already exists...who knows these days.

For a extra 9.99 you can get the deluxe model that randomly freezes for various duration's. Get em now before they are all gone!!!

Too soon?

Mitch stopped driving a few years ago. I remember his wife running over a protestor blocking their driveway (2017?) and McConnell was in the passenger seat.

McConnell is 81. He and his wife are worth

www.forbes.com...

Forbes estimates that the couple is worth about $30 million today. But it’s still growing. The stock market continues to soar, and Chao is back to work in the private sector. In August, she was elected to join the boards of two companies, electric truck maker Hyliion and grocery giant Kroger, where she has already started receiving stock compensation. Her father, meanwhile, is still alive at 93 years old. When he dies, another rush of money may come to Chao and McConnell.

Why does he or any of these other literal multimillionaire government officials who are over age 75 want to continue working? What is the motive here? Why don't they WANT to retire. I am counting the days until I can retire. Who wants to be sitting there, 80+ years old still having to drag your ass out of bed everyday (or most days) and deal with the press and everything else whatever it is they do (isn't much). WHY?!?!?!?!?
