Maybe it's because half of the Senate and a third of the House is over 65, and they have sold them down the river to line their pockets. Maybe the age of information has skewed their minds to see past the old tricks. I pray gen Z will fix this, because they'll have to.

Join the military? For them it means what? Going over seas fighting for an empire they have no faith in? For a country that inflates their currency, land grabs any opportunity for starter homes, and laughs at the laws they're breaking but expects the new generations to abide by? It's a joke, it's apparent, and it's falling apart.

Gen Z would die for their brothers at home, but not for their great grandfather's luxury goods over seas. And I don't blame them.

Because the vets getting out of the military tell the young folks to find a skill and get a better paying job then succumb to 4 years of crap pay and treated like crap.

It’s not like it used to be. Woke Fat bastards getting promoted over people who actual pride themselves in physical fitness, tact, and military bearing.

1) They have no Pride in the United States .

'There is not much to have pride in anymore, when it comes to the US Government.

2) They are Lazy .

3) They are scared to be yelled at and disciplined and be subject to consequences if they don't listen.

All true for the most part.

To repeat what Eternal Shadow said above:

"It all starts in the classrooms. The department of education and the teachers unions need to be ground into dust."

4) and to be honest an Active War helps recruiting like crazy.

Really? Don't see that at all... especially with all of these public fool system lazy feminized boytoys masquerading as 'young men'.

No, the smart ones can now clearly see the insanity of fighting wars for the war-mongering elites who use lies, deception and wars to push their fascist agendas.

Whew boy, this is a fun one.

You don't have to be patriotic to join the military. Likewise, you don't have to be in the military to be patriotic; this seems to be the sentiment that I'm seeing here and elsewhere.

Many people From Gen x, Millennials, Z, etc., are prepared in their own facet for a SHTF scenario, including foreign invasion. (Ok, a lot of Z-ers have a bit of learning to do, but small groups of them just like the other two generations are a small bit knowledgeable)

You can be patriotic and prepared to defend your country and your neighbors without going through a government program that involves invading other countries, marching around in the desert, guarding drug fields, playing international militarized police, etc.

That's been the big shift over the last several decades - people are putting down the governmental koolaid. People are turning away from the government and military indoctrination when it comes to this kind of stuff.

According to him, the other men and women in his company are "Tough as hell!" Assuming his company is representative, I'd say the Marine Corp at least is getting some pretty good material to work with.

can't be a devil dog without having a least a little hard ass in you, with just a little the Corps can get you the rest of the way there.

but i have to say this, the Corps is not the same as it was 30, 40 years ago. it has been infected with wokeism to.

We're probably not that far away from "boots on the ground" being mechanized and controlled in a back room somewhere by gen-z'ers who already have the skills for joystick warfare. All of our troops fight (and die) on foreign soil and I'd be glad to see that stop. My biggest worry is if/when foreign forces try to enter our country. If that happened now, the majority of people could not defend themselves and if we have no military good enough to defend our borders, the only survivors will be the gangs in the cities and off-grid homesteaders in the country. The rest will perish.

it's easy to put down that generation but honestly, I can sort of understand it. From their perspective there's no upside to military service and if you think about it you can see why.

What's their aspirations? From their perspective the future is about computing/computers/game apps, coding for new apps. They know their own future is about finding a niche in the Tech economy.

Another issue is that survey's I've seen indicate that, unlike previous generations, they don't identify primarily with and as US citizens; they see themselves as global citizens. That viewpoint ties in nicely to their focus on tech jobs and the tech industry. Concentrating on Tech means they can live and work from any place in the world. If you think about it, would you rather work as a UAW worker in a GM plant in the rust belt, or work on coding for a tech company while living in Italy?

The "kids" aren't stupid and they've been propagandized for years in school and the result of being shoved relentless propaganda is that by probably about 5th grade or so, they figure out its all agenda based propaganda.......meaning it's all BS. Their world view has been molded by this realization that pretty much everything their told by teachers, news outlets, the government is all BS. They are probably the most BS sensitive generation ever born. They aren't going to bite off on phony promises of military recruiting officers.

They know not of Patriotism. And most of their mothers and fathers where given psychotropic drugs by the arrangement of counselors, psychiatrist, teachers and even their parents for a control mechanism over the youth then.

You talk as it there remained anything left to be patriotic about.

There isn't.

I know it is no longer fashionable but there is a lot to be patriotic about. People who think this country is not worth it should spend a bit of time living somewhere else for a while.

I wouldn't want to go to a foreign country and kill other poor people and risk my own death to defend the financial interests of a bunch of corrupt, globalist scumbags either. Let them do their own dirty work. Lets see their kids go and rot in a 3rd world hell hole to make sure EXON gets premium oil rights or that the WEF gets full access to that nations mineral reserves or that Northrop Grumman gets to sell weapons to dictators.

I don't blame young people one bit for learning from the hardship and the mistakes made by generations before them. It has NOTHING to do with being unpatriotic because no wars have been fought to protect the freedoms in this country since WWII. And if they really want to do something to protect this nation and the freedom of its citizens they'd pick up a rifle and start heading towards Davos.

I served and proud to have done so.

But to serve in a military that forced covid vaccines on its soldiers and sailors. For a country that enforced lockdowns. With rogue intelligent agencies trying a soft coup. Learning how dirty the CIA is with drugs. And the military embracing wokeness over unit cohesion. I wouldn’t serve in today’s military. It can pack sand.

That being said. As bad as China is. Our youth are not in a position mentally and physically to fight China where the population is used to hardships. What was the old WW II joke, life in the marines was easier than the farm? Hopefully China’s population is also not willing to die for their own set of A$$holes overseeing their government.
