DeSantis finally tasted some blood. Trump is wounded and DeSantis finally worked up the courage to speak out directly against Trump. And all his followers it seems... oops.

The video is 20 minutes long, but you can skip to about 2:45 to hear what DeSantis thinks of Trump worshipers. He calls it a cult of personality and urges the Republicans to not just blindly fall in line.

“You could be the most conservative person since sliced bread. Unless you’re kissing his rear end, they will somehow call you a RINO.

A movement can’t be about the personality of one individual, the movement has got to be about what are you trying to achieve on behalf of the American people and that’s got to be based in principle, because if you’re not rooted in principle, if all we are is listless vessels that’s just supposed to follow whatever happens to come down the pike on Truth Social every morning, that’s not going to be a durable movement.”

Listless Vessels... hmmm.

listless
lĭst′lĭs
adjective

1. Lacking energy or disinclined to exert effort; lethargic.
2. Characterized by a lack of energy or interest.
3. Having no desire or inclination; indifferent; heedless; spiritless.

vessel
vĕs′əl
noun

1. A hollow utensil, such as a cup, vase, or pitcher, used as a container, especially for liquids.

A vessel is hollow, meant to carry something else. What he is saying here, through symbolism, is that Trump's followers are carrying his water. To carry someone's water is to be submissive and uncritical of that person. The implied hollowness also hints at a lack of intellect.

He's not pulling any punches on this one, is he? That's a pretty bold statement to a very broad group of people, whose votes you're eventually depending on.

Is it smart? We'll see. He thinks he knows what he's doing, that's certain.

I'd vote for DeSantis, but I don't think he will get the nomination.

Nope, he's not smart. LOL

Trump fans are a lot of things. Listless is not one of them.

He will feel the burn.

Trump pussing out of the debates is the best thing that could've happened to DeSantis' campaign.

Is that kind of like "Useless Eaters" or maybe "A Basket of Deplorables"?

a bold statement to a very broad group of people who vehemntly defend free speech and calling a spade a spade

if it was trump taking shots at clinton or shcumer or newsome, this scathing rhetoric would get raving applause

lets be consistent now

I agree that Trump should debate.

But him not going only makes me less interested in the debate.

The debates have been BS since 2008 when they asked if candidates preferred dancing with the stars or American idol.

But make no mistake, not showing doesn't hurt Trump at all.

The only thing that can hurt Trump is if swing States find a way to keep Trump off the ballot.

I don't trust Vivek at all.

But he does talk a good game. I'll give him that.

Ronnie Ronnie Ronnie

They may be listless and useless, but their votes count the same as the energized and worthy.

you are gonna need their votes to even have a chance at the Republican nomination.

It's that simple...

What do you call a man who was elected to Run a state, but wants to do something else, even though the people who elected him, are asking that he stay and continue doing the job they elected him to do?

I recall another term used in recent history and memory.

"Basket of deplorables."

How did that work out?

The whole reason Trump won the nomination in 2016 wa because of his performance in the debates.

By not participating he's just letting his opponents set the narrative.

While Trump may be the frontrunner at this time, so was Jeb at this point.

He would have won regardless.

No one was going to to vote for Jeb!™ or any of the other turds they rolled out.

Edit:
It was the presidential debates against Hilary that put him over in 2016.

Trump didn't win the previous time he ran for President. Without the debates, what would've made him anything more than a reality show host?

I'm not saying Jeb would've won, but without the debates, all the other candidates looked better on paper than Trump.
