Honestly? I think bonds are unconstitutional. Last time I checked people were innocent until proven guilty.

And I'm saying that would essentially destroy the legal basis for bonds.

Release without bond and just a promise to appear, would be just that.

It happens all the time and does not "destroy the legal basis for bonds".

Also, a legal basis exist wether or not it is followed. Not following a legal basis does not "destroy the legal basis" for it.

Yesterday. Ken Cheesbro demanded a speedy trial and today Fani Willis obliged him by requesting an October 23, 2023 trial date for all 19 indicted co-conspirators.

So yesterday, Chesebro's lawyer filed a speedy trial motion. In Georgia, this means the trial must occur within two grand jury cycles. A grand jury lasts two months. So in other words, if the speedy trial motion were approved, the trial would occur within four months.

The thinking is that Chesebro's lawyer thought Willis wouldn't be ready in that amount of time and as a result she would have a weaker case.

She just responded to the motion. She said her team could be ready to go to trial by October 23rd.

I bet you all the other defendants' lawyers are cursing Chesebro's lawyer right now.

Yes, release without bond is a thing. But release without bond because you couldn't or wouldn't pay your bond isn't a thing.

Seems discretionary to me, and I would be willing to bet that it's happened before.

Obliviously, Trump and his Secret Service protection would create an interesting situation.

You have a problem with multiple people posting about news shortly after its reported?

You must have had a fit yesterday with all of the threads made about Prigozhin's death.

No, nor do I have a problem with the twinsies posts.

I think it's very funny though especially compared to the video.

Don't you?

You think it's weird that people would attempt to give backstory on something that wasn't talked about on here?

I think it's weird that the same exact talking point was dished within minutes of eachother in the same thread.

If I'm being honest.

Given your defensiveness on the matter, now I'm curious on top of it....

How many did the Tucker interview of Trump get?

I haven't looked at the 24 hour number.

Trump claims 231 million. So, 60 times less than the "Biggest Video on Social Media Ever."

Cheseboro's speedy trial motion has been granted. His trial is set to begin October 23. The judge did specify that at this time the trial date only applies to Cheseboro.

If the trial goes poorly for him, I expect to see a number of the other co-conspirators making plea deals.
