Some sort of "social science" is needed at least once in a year, in a kids schooling life. Children spend most of their waking days at school during the week in a heavily social environment, throwing them non stop academic subjects shouldn't be the soul purpose of school.

Like I said earlier, there obviously needs to be some edges smoothed, progressive topics are changing constantly with society, the first push isn't going appease everyone.
But, let's sit back and see the grander picture here, do you think there's a correlation between internet, smartphone use and the decline in student grades in certain subjects?

You can actually map the decline at nearly the onset of the Department of Education.

It's been going downhill since education became a federal authority. And that was back in the 1970's.

Disciplined academics ARE the purpose of a school.
Teaching subjective morals is not the purpose.
The liberal left is trying to make subjective morals the purpose.

So coming forward to recent times my two boys graduated HS in 2020 and 2017 and they and everyone in their schools did perfectly OK without what is being pushed today, why is that?

The one thing you do not see is moderation is the key to everything. Ice Cream is great but gallons of it are not good. Learning one's sexuality is great, but suggesting your 3-year-old bio boy is actually a girl and you are going to help them is not moderation. Nor is trans story hour in 3rd grade, or other sexualized related adult situations.

All anyone asks for is moderation and not gallons of ice cream that seems to be forced on all of us.

Fearmongoring shoves moderation into the stratosphere.

So what do you do when your social science is taught by extremists? It really seems you and others keep wanting matters pushed to the schools to "teach" things that people naturally learn anyways within their own timelines. As we approached 2012 it seemed color/race was finally disappearing along with gender identification and sexual preference were also blended into a nothing burger and all hell broke loose, why was any of that needed?

We need to agree liberals run our education system from k-12 and College, so maybe ask them...lol

One thing I see with liberal ideas is they all start off with a good sound base but seem to just keep spiraling down some rabbit hole in the end and turn into something that doesn't look like what they started and stops being something good.

Recently we saw it with the MeToo movement, BLM, CRT, pronouns, gender identity, the homeless issues, legalizing all drugs, defunding the police, illegals, and a number of other areas where 90% would say hey that is a great idea and then a few years later many of the initial 90% say what the hell is this!

CRT teaches White kids they are fundamentally bad for being White and unless they openly agree they are racist, and have some inherent generalized privileges because of their skin. Then CRT teaches Minorities that all their problems are because of the repressing Whites that they cannot control and are screwed at birth.

It's the job of the schools to teach academics. Period.

Every debate I see on twitch or similar stages its trans people constantly defending themselves.
