It changes jurisprudence if they abandon the current legal system and make it all just a PR exercise.
Legal trials should relate to facts under examination to determine motive and culpability, not opinions.
There is also the many examples of populist politicians who usurped and then disabled established democratic process to install themselves as perpetual dictators, and there has to be a strong reaction against those who would try that in a free country, that has the checks and balances of separation of powers, and term limits on its executive.

I agree. I believe it should be recorded, but not televised live.
After the trial is over though, it should become public.
I personally would love to watch it live, but I also understand it could potentially create problems.
