Since the latest indictment of Trump, I have started seeing some articles and discussion crop up about the prospect of having the trial televised. I am curious about y'all opinion on this, is it a good idea or no?

It is interesting to see that opinions from both sides of the isle waffle on this subject. Both sides have articulated pluses and negatives.

That all being said, Trump himself has demanded the trials be televised.

I think it should be televised and let the cards fall where they may.

All courts should be available for public view in my opinion.

Also, for those who still care about silly things:

Sixth Amendment

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

No.

This is not entertainment, it should be not be allowed any special rules. If federal trials are not televised, then federal trials are not televised.

Sketch artists need jobs too.

Agree!

If this is not to be a political "show trial", if there is not to be a "two-tier justice system", then the trial should proceed as all previous such trials have been conducted.

No special treatment just because the accused is a celebrity.

Too late... way Way WAY too late.

This is all for show. The Dems are going after Trump to hurt his chances of re election. They are increasingly desperate to keep him out of power.

Two ways that works IMO.

1, they know that the evidence and trial will be something ala Alex Jones.

or.

2. they know it will never happen and are pandering.

That should be trumps decision. He does love the cameras and an audience.

It's going to be a circus anyway....bring in the clowns!!!

Every second should be televised so the people can see what a kangaroo court it is.

NO

There’s too much emotion on all sides.

There does not need to be more fuel on the fire.

I agreed 100%. Everything should be made public, including all the evidence!

I disagree, these trials being made public, which is not atypical, are very important not only because of the public interest, but also to the integrity of federal courts and investigative groups.

This isn't some regular trial, regardless what people say.

The sitting administration has filed charges against a political opponent.

That is a fact that cannot be disputed.
