Are you a lawyer?

Taken the bar?

Just curious.

I have yet to come across a single lawyer that understands what the f*** Cannon was doing with that filing. They all agree that it makes no sense and could be considered judicial misconduct as grand juries are supposed to be secret.

How many lawyers does that equal? All of the ones on the MSM shows? Late Night TV? The View?

Yea?

Donald Trump attorney Evan Corcoran appeared last month to testify before a federal grand jury in Washington, DC, that’s looking at the former president’s handling of national security records at his Mar-a-Lago residence, a source confirmed to CNN.

CNN

Prosecutors working for special counsel Jack Smith had been presenting evidence and witness testimony before a separate grand jury in Washington, D.C., for months, but activity appeared to have slowed in recent weeks based on sources and observations at the courthouse.

NBC

Judge Aileen Cannon is asking the Justice Department and Donald Trump co-defendant Walt Nauta to weigh in on the legality of special counsel Jack Smith's ongoing grand jury activity in Washington, DC, which relates to the obstruction portion of the Mar-a-Lago documents case before her in Florida.

CBS

Any more lies I can call you out on?

It takes these new members a bit to understand how it works here.

I really don't get why this so hard for you to understand. There are two grand juries. One in Florida. One in DC. DC has not issued any indictments.

We've known about a DC grand jury tied to the documents case longer than the Florida one, although the continued existence of one has been unknown since the first indictment in Florida.

Early on it looked like Smith would indict all charges in DC. However at the time there was a SCOTUS case pending that could've potentially prevented Smith from refiling charges if he filed in the wrong jurisdiction. As a result, he determined it safer to bring the initial charges to a Florida grand jury who voted for indictment. The superseding indictment was then filed in Florida because that is the only jurisdiction De Oliveira was eligible for charges.

There may still be potential charges pending that fall under the jurisdiction of DC. Thus why there's still a DC grand jury.

Here..lets do it again!

Judge Aileen Cannon on Monday asked the Justice Department to explain its use of an out-of-state grand jury in the Mar-a-Lago case.

The demand came in response to a duo of filings submitted under seal, which Cannon directed a clerk to strike from the docket.

The Justice Department “shall address the legal propriety of using an out-of-district grand jury proceeding to continue to investigate and/or to seek post-indictment hearings on matters pertinent to the instant indicted matter in this district,” she wrote.

Yes. There is an ongoing grand jury in another jurisdiction. It seems like the DOJ may have mentioned information from that grand jury in a filing. There's nothing wrong about that.

As is mentioned in that excerpt, the current indictments stem from a grand jury in Cannon's district.

Do you have any evidence of the Miami GJ activity before June 5 or so?

..3 days before the indictment?

Arraignment for the superseding indictment is postponed again until August 15th because De Oliveira still doesn't have local counsel.

Got himself a Washington D.C. lawyer...then "flipped". That's expected.

The problem is Jack Smith's "classified documents" case is weak, and growing weaker.

Desperate Jack: theconservativetreehouse.com... of-the-mar-a-lago-case/

Eventually, everyone will know how corrupt both Jack Smith and his Wife are. But in the meantime, he'll have to experience egg-on-face embarrassment.

Well that's not the first case we've heard of Trump supplied lawyers advising their client to not remember or give false testimony. With frequent texts to "stay on Trump's good side". And false promises of jobs to keep them in line. Stefan Passantino is facing disbarment for his actions with Cassidy Hutchinson.

Yesterday, Trump filed to have the trial delayed until November next year. Today, Cannon has issued a stay on the next CIPA hearing as she mulls over if she'll grant the delay.

I'd agree does grant the delay, expect Smith to appeal. It may be at that point that Smith requests to have Cannon removed from the case and another judge assigned.

In the DOJ's latest filing arguing against Trump's motion to delay the trial, they say they know why Trump retained the documents and what he planned to do with them and they're prepared to prove it in trial.

Have you noticed that Trump has not attacked the grand jury, nor has he attacked Cannon as he is doing for every other case? No slurs, no accusations of Cannon, no insinuations.

Cannon was appointed to act as Trump's personal judge in Florida. Don't forget that she wasn't appointed until Trump had already lost the election. He realized he may be held accountable for his actions and wanted to make sure he had someone friendly on the bench in his own backyard.
