Trump had the balls to call out "The Swamp". He made the Swamp a thing, and he ran an entire campaign on it.

Yes, but he also made people question the “anti establishment” platform.

Let’s set aside the obvious hyperbole the system went after him with, Russia and pseudo fascism BS. That discredited the anti trumpers because they could have easily gone after him from a policy platform.

But alas, the above only fed into those already anti Trump, and they weren’t swayable to begin with. Merely, it was just feeding a group what they wanted to be fed.

Elections are won by swing votes and or independents. Some of them are apathetic, or just use it as an excuse not to take sides, and some actually keep up with current events albeit they may be the minority.

Trumps actual policy was questionable for those that are well read and can possibly be swayed. Debt, spending, and bailouts ( much of that intersects). Independents, libertarians, fiscal conservatives that are socially liberal, all have a problem with that policy. And we could argue the Biden admin is a continuation or worsening of said policy, but it makes it hard to say trump is “better”.

Couple that with his willingness or kink to make people hate him, and now the class who can sway elections are skeptical of the anti establishment candidates. That’s the real damage to me. We had close wins as society with the likes of Perot and Paul, and even the left had candidates like Bernie leading the way even if you disagree with his politics. There were even seedlings like Yang and Gabbard who showed potential to challenge that sh** party. But all that momentum lost steam, and now Trump is viewed as the party many used to challenge, and the only alternative is a baptized in the wool democrat.

Queue meme election pt 2. The sad part is, not a single challenger on either side anyone can be truly excited about. This election is a race to the bottom.

I wish Trump would have been there.

I would have paid money to see that.

They are also two totally different issues. Though different, what they both have in common is we control what happens in both cases. If we send troops to Ukraine then Russians will be killing Americans, if we keep our borders open and do nothing to the cartel then the killing of Americans will still go on. We have choices in both cases to prevent Americans from dying.

you do understand how buying things works, those americans bought drugs under their own accord, mexicans did not hold them down and inject them/make them ingest something

I think some people get easily confused by the term 'drug dealer' and what it entails, but the user seeks the dealer and asks them for a drug, pays them then still has a choice to take it or not, the dealer does not force anything on anyone

Anyone raising children knows drug dealers seek out the young. teenage years are tough, and kids are easy marks to try anything promising to make their 'fun' or more bearable.
