I have suffered from kidney stones for the past 20 years The last time was 2 1/2 years ago when spent 3 days in hospital
The X Rays showed one lodged in left urethra. a marble size one in the right kidney I wont go into the gory details of how they were removed , but was extremely painful

I found that drinking soda , especially cola drinks were the cause of the kidney stones Since then drink cranberry juice or lemonade I dilute them with water to increase hydration

The sudden increase in kidney stones is blamed on the modern diet with high sodium food (potato chips, snacks) and soda drinks with high fructose corn syrup. Cola drinks contain phosphoric acid which combines with minerals in the body to
precipitate in the kidneys

But climate change? Peeple set me straight, you must be trying to mess with me and make me paranoid again.

Thanks for your input and real life experience. I wonder if Peeple will be here to set you straight too?

If anyone reading this thread believes Fox News doesn't necessarily believe in climate change, have a look at this article that certainly leaves no question. Also, notice how they are regurgitating an NBC report about a UN Study.

LINK to Fox News Article

I'm not going to quote any of that article, just check it out if you have any doubts. I want to leave that subject for someone else to make a thread from, like maybe Peeple. He'll be able to explain how Fox News doesn't really believe that report and just wants to persuade parents to keep their children hydrated.

Yeah, my SO has been having some excessive outrageously stinky farts this past 6 months. I'm pretty sure it's climate change. Unfortunately, there's nothing either of us can do about it so my environment will continue to be pretty stinky. Maybe I should start collecting some sort of reparations for the last 20 years of hazardous air I've had to breath. And then use the money to buy some new tools and my life would be all better.

We won't blame it on the poor diet such as hotdogs for lunch, chocolate pudding and cream filled donuts every morning because they can't be part of the cause. Nope.

Around Feb-March this year, I read an article (can't find it now) where CNN passed around a memo that said because Covid fear was abating the new fear mongering story was to return to climate change.

I suggest that we get together with Fox News, have them dig up some research on farting, and then have them twist the facts using ambiguous and conflicting language to convince the public in a news article that your significant other's flatulence is due to climate change. That's not climate propaganda, it's just raising awareness of your SO's gas problem, ask Peeple and he'll tell you.

Kidney stones usually come from eating lots of oxalates or oxalic acid and not eating enough of certain foods that keep them from forming calcium oxalate stones.

Oxalate is not found in meat that can form kidney stones, it is found in veggies and maybe in coatings covering junk food made from grains.

If you drink milk with your meal, it has calcium which binds to the oxalates in the digestive tract and it is not absorbed. If you eat peanut butter, have jelly with it on the sandwich, the pectin also binds to the oxalates and you poop them out. almonds also have oxalates, so almond milk has it, milk doesn't contain much at all. So almond milk calcium does not act as an antidote like real milk does.

not much calcium in junk food to bind any oxalates from the peanuts. There are many different databases on oxalates. When you have calcium oxalate stones, you can also get little crystals on the joints and in muscles which cause inflamation and make things sore all over.

How is this related to climate change....they are trying to convince us that black beans are better for us than meat for protein because cows fart and pollute the air. So the response to climate change could be causing this. Tell the kids to eat peanuts high in oxalates and avoid the sugar in jelly on the toast. Coffee has oxalates but also contains chemistry that negates most of it's problems with kidney stones.

I think that people may be going a little nuts with the health craze. People focus on a single factor in food science instead of looking at the whole picture. Kidney stones have been increasing for the last twenty years or more.

The article states it is speculation, which means that it is just a hypothesis. It is not interpreted properly from what I can tell. I made a thread about half the stuff being bull crap everywhere, Just because something as accepted by a lot of people as real does not mean it is. The article seems to be propaganda to push the climate change agenda.

I bet those experts will be getting a boost in funding from the people promoting climate change because of that article.

Well if by climate change they mean that we have hotter seasons in some countries?

We just came out off a 4 week drought here in Denmark. And its been hot. Also I havent been drinking enough fluid myself.

You need atleast 1.5 litre of fluid every day, over 2 litres doing a hot drought.

I had my first kidney stones in june. So bad it enlarged my calyxes... so awaiting now what will happen from here.

Turns out a lot of the food I like increases risk of stones and combined with low fluid that is likely what happened. 🤷‍♂️

Edit: what did they mean with children? Weight lifting is back in fashion and both protein powder and creatine increases the risk a lot for getting stones...

They could just have said that kids need to drink more in hot weather.
No need to use the words climate change, which are just unnecessary fear mongering to scare people about something that is entirely natural.

It's a formula.
Take current bad thing (covid, hell, climate, acid rain etc) and blame it on any of your normal problems, so that people obey any old orders and ask for more solutions (lockdowns, digital currency, health passes, novel gene therapies etc)

Propaganda 101

They bank on people like you for this to work.

I find it interesting how I was singled out for my opinion that this was a propaganda piece while most everyone else who posted a supporting opinion was left alone. It must be part of the playbook to engage the original poster who made the thread to discredit and smear them with attacks on their character in an effort to shut down the discussion. Also, the continuous and rapid posts with opposing responses seem to be trying to fill up the thread to discourage people from going past the first couple of pages to support the OP.

I'd like to believe that these types are merely contrarians with an ego problem that like to argue about any and every topic, a Devil's advocate so-to-speak. This type might keep at it to feel superior and always get the last word in, but I have my doubts. It seems more like a tactic to make the subject too toxic to respond to or too long to bother with.

Ah, things are getting even more interesting with this as the Gateway Pundit has a much better article that actually sites the source documents and gives better details. Mind you, this is with none of that ambiguous language that Fox News used.

Rising Temperatures From Climate Change May Cause Kidney Stone Epidemic, Says ‘Experts’

A study conducted by researchers at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), published in Scientific Reports, suggests that a rise in global temperatures due to climate change will lead to a surge in kidney stone cases or nephrolithiasis over the next seven decades.

They claim that this increase will happen regardless of whether any measures are taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions . . .

Now, isn’t that interesting? A warmer planet will apparently cause an increased burden of kidney stone disease on healthcare systems. This is according to Gregory E. Tasian, MD, MSc, MSCE, a pediatric urologist at CHOP.

“While it is impossible to predict with certainty how future policies will slow or hasten greenhouse gas emission and anthropogenic climate change, and to know exactly what future daily temperatures will be, our analysis suggests that a warming planet will likely cause an increased burden of kidney stone disease on healthcare systems,” said Tasian.

Gateway Pundit Article

Here is a link to the original article from the group that did the study.

LINK

Not only did the Gateway Pundit have more information with less speculation than Fox, it gave more than enough information to find the source on the Children's Hospital website. It isn't the Scientific Reports publication of the study, that may have the full detailed study, but it gives you far more than Fox or Gateway right from the horse's mouth.

Avoid kidney stones by increasing intake of acidic foods and limit oxylates found in certain leafy greens and calcium rich foods. Eggs are bad, cheese isn't good. But if you don't drink water or eat fruits you make it more likely to develop them. Its a bogus article based on pure speculation and not even speculation they're just trying to push global warming. Fake science strikes again.

Ridiculous, as someone who has had a few stones, it's diet, what you eat and drink, also lack of staying hydrated with water.
