If they didn't do some outlandish attack on the tourist sector like destroying golf courses... Would we even be made aware of the water shortage in Spain? Would us Americans think much of a drought across the ocean in places we more than likely will never see or sympathize with?

Sure... Plenty of golfers and establishmentarianists will wag their finger, just as much would supporters of anti-golfers and water enthusiasts will want to support the victims before condemning the direct action upon recreational exploitation.

They are making a sacrifice for the better good, eventually face fines and imprisonment; when your family is dying of dehydration... Running out of options, you may eventually have to do something extreme. If nothing is done now... It could get pretty ugly...

Why force their hand, condemning such actions? Do we want to see what is next on the extremist's agenda? Surely it's not selling girlscout cookies...

I mainly shop in Morrisons as i like the market street counters for meat and fish. I do a lot of work for Asda so everything else I just pick up from there as I go. My local Lidl had franziskaner beer on offer, which is my tipple of choice when Whisky isn’t an option, so that’s the only time I’ve been there. To be fair the quality of the products looks just as good as any other supermarket. Now and again I’ll pop into M&S for a breakfast although I always feel ripped off after paying £10+ for some sour doughbread and a couple of poached eggs with tea. Morrisons ultimate breakfast and a pot is the way to go when you need an injection of unholy fried goodness on a morning.

Isnt it telling people talk about money being an essential ressource where the thread is about water shortage and the lengths people will go too when faced with it...

It shows a dissociative level towards the basics of human life its really sad and I truly hope you all can just die with money in your pocket.

I really hope you'll never have to touch the basics of life as you would probably not survive a world where money buys you nothing.

When you argue in these dissociative ways you really give the future grounds to not give a flying excrement about your opinion or inputs as you show complete delusion to the basics that sustain human life.

It'll be funny when the first people die of dehydration right next to that nestle groundwater pumping station.

The world doesn't revolve around the USA....and so what, you are now aware of the situation. Will it make any difference whatsoever? What are YOU going to do about it?

These protesters are nothing of the sort; they are entitled, upper-middle class tossers who know that after their brief sabbatical as an eco-warrior rebel they'll be able to return to the fold with a nice job in the city and their trust fund bulging.

No families are 'dying of dehydration' and certainly not these Extinction Rebellion morons.

So instead of engaging in empty gestures like forcing golf courses to shut why not make industry/government/big business provide an adequate drinking water system, efficient irrigation for agriculture and other measures instead of syphoning off profits for the usual wealthy elites?

Whether we like it or not money is 'an essential resource'.

The people protesting about water shortage in Spain and damaging these golf courses aren't desperate locals dying of dehydration they are Extinction Rebellion arseholes playing their eco-warrior games.

Yes, there should be better water supplies in these regions.
Sabotaging golf courses, damaging the tourist trade and increasing unemployment and poverty will not change anything for the locals in these areas, at least not for the better.

As for the drama queen bit, please give it a rest.

Make sure you set aside enough water for that golf course you seem to care so much about

It's the sheer volume of fertilizer and herbicide used on golf courses that makes them toxic superfund sites. It does seem a rather trivial use of land in the larger scheme of things.

It's a huge inconvenience and hassle for the golf course, really.
