Have the new owners of ATS decided not to allow political discussion

I went to comment on this thread "Is ATS selling out or compromised?" and was going to comment when I noticed the very tame discussion was shut down with no flags allowed or comments.

I have noticed over the past few weeks that ATS seems to be shutting down or disappearing threads that have any real umph to them, that could be considered lively or challenging of the approved narrative of the left.

I normally read ATS daily and used to comment several times a week. But lately, there has been nothing to comment on or even to read that catches my interest. It has become so dull politically, and I adore political discussions, that I have been coming here less and less, even skipping days.

The last bastion of free speech was how I saw ATS. But all good times must come to an end I guess.

Maybe the FBI, DOJ who are being exposed in Congress for their interference in elections, one sided justice, and persecution of anyone on the right, has something to do with what appears to be shutting down and disappearing discussions that make Democrats look bad.

Am I wrong? Will mods enlighten me as to what I am seeing. We can handle it, I'll put on my big girl panties and search for someplace else to go.

If this is the direction ATS wants to go, they should just say it. After all it is privately owned, or is it? Anyway, the owners need to be upfront and just say no more political discussions that embarrass the left so we all know and can choose whether to abandon ATS or not, rather than what seems to be ghosting through not allowing flags/stars/comments.

Even asking this question seems to be the road to shut down and ghosting. It will be interesting to see if I get a reply and ATS owners will just come out and say the "new direction" they are going and what will no longer be allowed, so people can make an informed instead of ghosted decision as to what to do.

Sad, because I saw ATS as the last and final safe place for people who disagree with the liberal left to be able to speak up, challenged with opposing views, but allowed to speak freely.

Free speech and dialog is what the US used to be all about, but no longer I fear. It appears the political left has decided it is their primary job, to tell people how to speak, and how to think, and what to think for the good of the collective society. Positive they are inherently intelligent, supremely wise, and must guide (by social pressure, denial of speech, and punishment if necessary) the ignorant masses into enlightenment for their own good and the good of the collective society.

Anyway, will the owners or their surrogate moderators on ATS respond?

ATS owners, mods, Please feel free to scold me if I am wrong.

Excoriate me if I am wrong. Just don't ghost and avoid the issue please.

The only threads i have seen disappeared lately have generally been of the antisemitic sorts or to do with the likes of white supremacy.

well before this thread, like the rest of these types of threads gets closed, I will add my two cents

10-15 years ago, the level of political discussion was minimal here on ATS. over the years as the political discussions became more and more an echo chamber, the discussions turned to arguments, then to outright ignorance and insults. Until recently this was predominantly the content here and as an older member it made me sad.

I am glad ATS is curbing the vitriol and breaking the echo chamber. Perhaps this will bring more newer members and prompt older members and long time lurkers to take part and contribute to help MAGA (Make ATS Great Again) see what i did there....

There is still plenty of political discussions, so to make the accusation the ATS does not allow for it is ignorance

The Board and Business forum has never had flags. When a mod has given an answer to the question the thread is usually closed since there' no need for page after page of redundancy or arguing.

There are still plenty of political threads; you're just not allowed to discuss it in the personal-attacking vitriolic way the Mud Pit was designed for.

Some people appreciate having hateful, personal attacks banned on ATS while some don't. I rather enjoy the removal of the unnecessary personal attacks and endless arguing-usually proffered by two/three/four individuals on the thread that would sling mud at each other for page after page, preventing any form of adult discussion on the thread topic itself.

hopefully IMO politics will find a new home away from ATS, what conspiracy is there in regurgitating CNN, Fox, MSN et al daily diatribe about idiot politicians

I am pretty sure most of us joined ATS for actual conspiracys such as Aliens, Loch Ness, moon landings, Vampires etc

who honestly cares what some rich elitist idiot says about how they will change the way we live, not one politician ever has any morals, not one politician ever has achieved anything they promise in the build up to getting you to vote for them.

Politics is the most pointless dicussion in the world and if people believe that their chosen idiot is going to improve their life then that is being truly asleep, i laugh when people in political threads accuse the other side of being sheeple, anyone cheerleading for any political party is the true definition of sheep, and all those clown world memes are pretty accurate for anyone who still chooses to listen to politicians, instead its thrown around as if one side is awake, lmao

We are in a culture war, what you see is called social fragmentation... Political Instability affects everything, it is why there is so much polarization and division in almost any topic. It is one of the reasons the Mudpit came about.

We can talk about the birds and bees all day, but eventually, someone will say you can only talk about birds, not bees.

It reflects the tendency for one side of the cultural divide to assert that certain topics should be allowed or promoted, while others should be silenced or excluded from the conversation.

That is what you see... 👀

I do, a lot and so does anyone else who isn't infantilised by the se lot.
I came to ATS for conspiracies and some unexplained mysteries. However the world is changing, fast, for the worst and the biggest conspiracies are in politics at this time in history.
Darn well do I want a place to be able to discuss them, without being banned, cancelled or ignored.

I too thought this was the last place where we could.
I too noticed far left implementations to stop any dissent from the great plans.

I want political discussions about pilitical conspiracies.
If you don't post something different and stay out of forums you don't like instead of asking to ban everything, just because you personally don't like it.

Different people have different opinions, people need to learn how to deal with it.
Although I understand how nerve-wracking it must be when one's opinion is build on dry sand and there are no actual good facts to discuss.
It's easier to stick one's fingers into the ears and ask the minders to get rid of pesky truths that can ruin one's day.

It's not just those topics that have disappeared or hardly any new posts. Aircraft for one, that I personally enjoy is just about dead, no discussions or anything interesting. And some of the post that do stay are things that have been on the fox or cnn homepage for hours, even days. This place used to have the latest news on just about all topics but I guess that's over.

Your assumption the MODs have any more of an idea what's happening than we do is wrong .

Notice on the Home page the list of MODs and Super MODs has grown much smaller .

Yes anything that is clearly radical hyperbole they are getting rid of and that is honestly not that different from before , The old owners would delete certain post with a quickness. I would say stop with all the complaining and be thankful someone decided to keep ATS running , Yes there are slight changes but all in all it's still the same ATS.

Strongly agree with you- the world is changing n is changing very fast - the greatest conspiracies are in politics -
