And they're better off voting in Trump who has embraced the trickle-down economics that has killed the middle class and any hope of the Zoomers getting the chance to retire?

The difference is that the government compelled the shutdown of businesses. Im my mind, the assistance should not have been in the form of loans. It should have been support grants. These businesses were compelled to close.

Nobody compelled anyone to sign loan contracts that would be difficult to pay back if not spent on education that results in good paying jobs, or inability to graduate or other reasons that would make your life nearly impossible, and I'm sure it was disclosed that these loans could not be discharged via bankruptcy. Anyone that made the decision to agree to this foolishness is part of the reason these loans are necessary now! The education industry made off like bandits.

I might agree to some kind of settlement that makes the student, the school, and the govt all liable to pay back the taxpayer. But the schools would have to be involved and it would have to be a case by case basis.

So 4 little years under Trump destroyed the Middle Class? How did that happen? When we look at 2016 to 2020 every demographic of the population improved a good deal. You do know that there is no such thing as "trickle-down economics", right? It isn't actually a real thing...

It's a term used by the left to explain things on the right in a negative way.

Thomas Sowell consistently argues that trickle-down economics has never been advocated by any economist, writing in his 2012 book "Trickle Down" Theory and "Tax Cuts for the Rich":

Let's do something completely unexpected: Let's stop and think. Why would anyone advocate that we "give" something to A in hopes that it would trickle down to B? Why in the world would any sane person not give it to B and cut out the middleman? But all this is moot, because there was no trickle-down theory about giving something to anybody in the first place.

The "trickle-down" theory cannot be found in even the most voluminous scholarly studies of economic theories - including J. A. Schumpeter's monumental History of Economic Analysis, more than a thousand pages long and printed in very small type

You use the term because the left have told you to with no real clue as to what it means or doesn't mean.

So why can't you not have a retirement? You can't get a 401k like me, or an IRA? I wish I didn't invest 40+ years into SS just to see 2k a month for a decade or so...lol that was one really bad investment.... My two boys aged 20 and 23 already started their 401k, I didn't start mine until I was 48, divorced, and 20k in the negative to my name for all wealth.

As to the evil rich...that is just a Boogyman the left has invented to blame everything on. The reality is if we taxed the rich 90% it would only increase the total tax made by 15%... Maybe we need to spend less, don't you think?

However, i do believe the premise of the thread is exactly accurate, the outcome will be an innundation by left leaning voters to flood the voting booths. GenZ will go berzerk

this is the part of this whole thread that is infuriating to me: majority of the posts are about what the libs should do, not what they will do.

and what will they do???

GenZ will go berzerk

40 years of Republicans pushing trickle down killed the middle class. The last Republican President that didn't leave office on the midst of an economic crisis was Ford. The four Republican Presidents since Ford have fielded a similar economic model. In every case, the upper class took on a greater percentage of the country's wealth, the middle class shrank, and the poverty class grew.

So why would a certain that's actually cognizant of these facts vote for the candidate that's pushing that same economic model?

As a follow up, the last Democrat President that has left the economy worse than when he took over was Carter. Based on recent numbers, Biden won't be the one to break that streak.

The belief in trickle-down economics baffles me. We saw the ultimate example of it in Kansas, when Sam Brownback was Governor and slashed corporate taxes in an effort to attract companies. The result? Total economic disaster, massive shortfalls in State revenue, it got so bad that they were talking about letting some roads go back to dirt tracks because they couldn't pave them properly and the courts were dragged in as education funding had to be litigated over. Brownback ran away to a bovine excrement job in the Trump administration and a Democrat won the next gubnatorial election and got re-elected last year.
Trickle-down economics is a load of fetid dingos kidneys. But rich people love it. Gee, what a surprise.

It works. It is not trickle down it is capitalism. It works fine and was until COVID.

Lower Business Taxes equal more jobs and expansion.
Lower Personal Taxes means more support of local businesses.
More business means more local growth for communities.

That's a very simple version of what gets pushed in our faces by people like Brownback and McTurtle. Trickledown is slashing taxes for millionaires and billionaires. True trickledown is Kansas. How'd that go again?

Look at Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II. All followed a similar economic model as Trump. All left with a wealthier upper class, a smaller middle class, a larger lower class, and an economic crisis.

Were they all dealing with COVID?

The rich will always get richer but remember there is rich...and there is wealthy. Rich is one generation or Lay off away from paycheck to paycheck.

Mid 2019 my house had doubled in value since Trump was in office. I started saving again and my taxes went down. gas was cheap. Goods were cheap. Jobs were plenty. Most people I knew, even those who did not vote for him, still hated him but were cool with his policies. None of those you mentioned brought oil back to us. They all went to war for it and padded their friends. This is why I laugh when I hear Trump is in bed with the Saudis. He gave them the finger when we went independent with our oil.

COVID. That is what stopped our country and we should be blaming the Chinese and no one else but instead we have a leader who bows to them.

Did you know that a rich person paying the smaller tax rate over a middleclass person actually pays in more simply because they make more money?

ALso EVERYONE got a tax cut not just the wealthy or rich or corporations. If you worked you paid less. Seems liek that wasnt targeted to th erich was it if EVERYONE got it.

Trickle down dont exist in reality. thats also true for trickle UP.

Which makes you un american and against the pursuit of personal wealth which is enshrined in the COTUS. We start taking it all then no one owns anything but what the Gov allows. That is how wars start and people die.

There is no such thing as trickle-down economics. Being one of those middle classes the only time I saw my income get smaller was under a Democratic President.

What model are you suggesting?

Well, we can blame many liberals for shutting down the country, keeping kids out of schools, forcing people to get the jab or lose their job etc, etc. All that was like 98% liberal BS.

As you said there is no such thing as trickle-down or up-economic. Someone making 5 million didn't take that money from poor people's ability to make money.

There are more rich liberals than conservatives and they sure don't jump on the tax the rich more when they are in charge...lol
