Nothing strange about it as nations on Earth have been eating insects for centuries - maybe even since human/reptilian foraging began.
In recent years, there has been a revived interest in entomophagy. Honey-pot ants, mealworms, and crickets appeal to the Australian audience. People here are willing to experience new things, not that eating insects is a novelty. Australian people have been consuming bugs as food for centuries now. Examples of dishes include roasted cockroaches and honey-flavored ants.

Not the nation I am coming from. I don't think the westerners are used to insects.
Btw when was the last time you had insects? Here in the west we prefer our good double cheeseburger please. We don't have an appetite for insects and worms.
Btw, providing a link isn't going to change reality....
The link I provided are other nations' reality.
It doesn't change the fact here in the US and in most other countries people don't eat insects.
When was the last time you had insects? For breakfast, lunch, dinner. I very much doubt anyone on these threads had tried insects.
Well top restaurants in the US are going in that direction. Here's another link for US reality.
wikitravel.org...
They may have it. But how many people eating them?
Did you have any?
I doubt most of us will go to a top restaurant to eat insects. Most people wouldn't be able to afford them even if they wanted to try.
Sometimes I think the 'strange agenda' is in keeping everything just the way it is when it is harming the environment and torturing animals before we kill them.
Did you forget humans are omnivores? No evidence is there we need to change our eating habits to save the world. It's just another woke idea.
All we need is B12 and insects are rich in that, so there is your omnivore component.

So, having insects will be enough to cover all of our dietary requirements? I am not quite sure why we only need B12 and how it's related to being omnivores.

Well you can research the nutritional value for yourself. Protein is the omnivore component and insects are protein.

You said all we need is B12. But that's not all we need. There are many other nutrients we need. Can we get it from insects? And If so, how much quantity we must have and at what cost? Can you find any insect food in your local supermarket?

The USDA inspects meat during processing and recalls anything that gets through. No such system has been proposed for food insects.

the only people claiming the world is coming to an end are those on YOUR side of the table insisting that The Government are gearing up to start stuffing live cockroaches down your throat tomorrow. The article this whole furore rotates around is, as we've pointed out MANY times, merely talking about how insects are high in protein, easy to breed, and consumed in many cultures. The chicken little angle comes ENTIRELY from you and your pals who took one glance at it, went YOU CAN'T MAKE ME EAT BUGS!!! and conjured a conspiracy to justify the strength of your negative feelings.
you're jumping at shadows and the shadows are your own.
WE know the world is not ending. do you?

5 reasons why eating insects could reduce climate change
1. Edible insects can produce equivalent amounts of quality protein when compared to animals
2. Insects require less care and upkeep than livestock
3. We're actually running out of protein.
4. Insects are part of a virtuous eco-cycle
5. You can start small and work your way up
I really like the last reason! Start from small and work your way up because you may not be ready yet to eat an insect. At least some realism and perspective on what is otherwise a piece of absolute woke nonsense just as the climate change ideology is.

We're running out of protein? What the hell?
We're not running out of livestock; we're not running out of beans, all of which contain protein. I understand they are trying to ban livestock, because... lies; the same as "we're running out of protein" same as "C02 is going to end the earth and kill everybody!" the same as "over population" the same as "clean energy!"
These are marketing tag lines that enable tyranical control, lower your quality of life with the trojan horse of tricking you into accepting new technologies that enable a total control system.
These are all anti-freedom arguments that are based on lies. They know if you try to transition to bugs; you couldn't survive. If you want to thin the heard, get rid of food and trick people into supporting the systematic removal of the peoples ability to sustain. Do you know how many bugs you would need to equal a single cut of beef?
Doesn't matter that bugs are small, you still need the density. You could get all of your sustenance in pill form; and even though you've metabolised enough of everything to reach daily quotas; you'll get sick and die. You still NEED the weight. How many bugs do you have to eat to equal a quarter pounder?
People cannot survive on supplements only; even if they take them in full daily doses. You can not use supplements as the primary source of sustenance. We've known this since the beginning of time.
Supporting this is suicidal. They are committing the biggets genocide of all time -- but this time, they are getting you to SIGN UP to WILLFULLY walk off the cliff.
Go ahead and try to survive by drinking milk and chugging protein shakes. You'll die if you don't eat. Vegan's are not healthy; Vegetarians have deficiencies.
You know why there is no such thing as a fat vegetarian or vegan? Because they are starving their body. You know why there are a bunch of fat meat eaters? Because they over indulge.
Healthy people are BALANCED.
