Yes, Biden was very petty in taking his clearance.

As VP/Senator, Biden has committed same security infractions and handling classified docs, as worse as Senator. Only the obstruction. But I believe 'his lawyers' weren't the ones that just stumbled upon them and called the security officer right away. They made a number of trips to search both Penn and residence. And Hunter who was not cleared had easy access to them and appears to have known stuff in them and repeated it to others.

Can't indict one and not the other.

Ahh ok. So Hunter had access, did he happen to make over 2 billion from the Saudi Kingdom Sovereign Fund? I mean if you believe these people were sharing it for financial gain. Right? We've already heard according to MBS that Jared was sharing classified info with him while in that sweet position he was given in the WH even though he couldn't pass a security clearance and he said he was qualified "because he read a lot of books".
Then come to find out his father in law was hiding classified docs from the government? Then Jared weirdly gets over 2 billion dollars right after Trump is out of office with tons of classified docs floating around MAL. Ummm...

Can't indict one without the other as you say.
I was aware Kushners fund received an 2 billion dollar investment. Pretty sure that's still their money to pull out if they want. I think it was the business Kushner was in before Trump in office. Perhaps they returned to doing business when out of office. I read this was investigated by the dem controlled congress oversight committee and they couidn't find anything criminal in it.

Kushner and Ivanka aren't behind him this time around. I dont blame them one bit. Ive heard Melania isn't either.

My position continues to be neither one. Until the primaries are over. Then I won't be supporting Biden.

No, this is a new business for Jared. He has previously done such a great job of getting in debt with real estate that the Saudis wanted to hand over $2 billion for him to invest in his new private equity firm. Keep in mind that any such equity firm takes a percentage -- say 1 or 2 percent at the minimum -- of any investment, which means $20 to $40 million for Jared. But hey, that's just peanuts compared to the whopping $5 million the Biden family has purportedly taken. Not.

You're absolutely right. One of these things is not like the other. When Biden realized he had these documents he notified the government and returned them. The government was requesting the documents back from Trump, and he fought the matter for months, still refused, gave the government some documents and he and his lawyers swore that they returned all such documents, but didn't in fact, and a FBI warranted search came up with at least 100 classified documents, some in Trump's desk. And in the article cited in the OP, Trump was waiving one such national security document around before a group of people without security clearances -- not at Mar-a-Lago, either but at Bedminister Country Club, proving that he had these documents in several places or was traveling around with them.

It appears that the DOJ has some very incriminating evidence against Donald Trump in the Mar-a-Lago documents scandal. According to the article from CNN (link below) there are both witnesses and audiotape of Trump discussing at least one classified document concerning US contingency plans for an attack on Iran. In the taped conversation he acknowledges that he has the document and that he knows that he can no longer declassify it, being that he is no longer president. The persons he discussed this with did not have security clearances, so that in effect he was divulging classified information, which makes him susceptible to prosecution under the Espionage Act. It also undercuts his claim that he declassified all the documents in his possession.

CNN

Federal prosecutors have obtained an audio recording of a summer 2021 meeting in which former President Donald Trump acknowledges he held onto a classified Pentagon document about a potential attack on Iran, multiple sources told CNN, undercutting his argument that he declassified everything.

The recording indicates Trump understood he retained classified material after leaving the White House, according to multiple sources familiar with the investigation. On the recording, Trump’s comments suggest he would like to share the information but he’s aware of limitations on his ability post-presidency to declassify records, two of the sources said.

CNN has not listened to the recording, but multiple sources described it. One source said the relevant portion on the Iran document is about two minutes long, and another source said the discussion is a small part of a much longer meeting.

Special counsel Jack Smith, who is leading the Justice Department investigation into Trump, has focused on the meeting as part of the criminal investigation into Trump’s handling of national security secrets. Sources describe the recording as an “important” piece of evidence in a possible case against Trump, who has repeatedly asserted he could retain presidential records and “automatically” declassify documents.

Prosecutors have asked witnesses about the recording and the document before a federal grand jury. The episode has generated enough interest for investigators to have questioned Gen. Mark Milley, one of the highest-ranking Trump-era national security officials, about the incident.

The revelation that the former president and commander-in-chief has been captured on tape discussing a classified document could raise his legal exposure as he continues his third bid for the White House.

Trump and his attorneys have given several different, often conflicting, explanations for why Trump didn’t intentionally retain classified materials in violation of federal law.

Initially, Trump allies argued he had a “standing declassification order” so that documents removed from the Oval Office were immediately declassified.  A few weeks later, Trump told Fox News that he could declassify things “just by thinking about it.”

Earlier this year, Trump’s legal team told Congress that classified material was inadvertently packed up at the end of the administration. Most recently, Trump told CNN at a town hall that materials were “automatically declassified” when he took them.

However, there’s no indication Trump followed the legally mandated declassification process, and his attorneys have avoided saying so far in court whether Trump declassified records he kept.

The Jack Smith investigation of Trump appears to be leaving no stone unturned. Hence, there may be yet more very incriminating evidence against the twice impeached president who already is charged with 34 felony counts for financial crimes in NY. This account belies Trump's and his legal teams claims about why these classified documents were withheld in the first place, raising his criminal exposure in the case.

It also makes one wonder what additional information the Feds have on Trump regarding the Jan 6 riot at the capitol, and the attempt to thwart the transfer of power to the newly elected president on that day.

let me guess,
no one has heard it except schiff?

release the tape!
i call bs.

You don't need to guess. You could read the story and find out that the grand jury has heard the tape, and likely has heard from multiple witnesses to the meeting as well.

hunter made over 1.5 bil from the chinese when joe was VP.

Please show us any news source claiming that Hunter Biden ever made anywhere near $1.5 billion from the Chinese or any other country. Otherwise I'd have to say you are talking out your behind. Your ridiculous, unsubstantiated claims that are off-topic to this thread are a testament to the fact that everything you've written in this thread has no merit whatsoever.

You're the sad one. You've made no effort whatsoever to engage in the topic of this thread. Rather, because you have no way to refute it, you directly go to attacking those you disagree with. Debating rhetoric doesn't get more pathetic than that.

You've been on ATS for 20 years? Maybe it's time to leave for a while, because it clearly ain't helping your critical thinking skills.

As an exercise, I recommend you re-read your comments in this thread, and ask yourself why anyone would take anything you wrote here to have any worth whatsoever, or how anything you wrote refuted the thread's OP. I mean for you to seriously do this with an objective lens, if that is possible.

You really think that attacking people wins arguments? You may get some stars from your fellow travelers, but you're certainly not hurting me, and likely not hurting anyone else from the "Left". And you're most certainly not making us rethink our POV's. Such juvenile assaults just show how intellectually barren your biased POV is.

And if you mean by being here "almost 20 years", how come your registration shows that you've been here more like almost 13 years? You can't even be forthright about your tenure here.

Remember, we were all told at least 500 times, "If words are coming out of Trump's mouth, they are lies!".

And remember, CNN has lost their CEO and top Anchors due to everything ranging from Masterbating in public, to pedophilia, to rape of co-workers. And CNN has paid multiple settlements due to LYING SO FREQUENTLY.

All the above taken together tells us what?

This is really rich coming from a person who continues using the same false quote as their signature, even after being told multiple times that it is false, or to provide a citation for it if it is true (I google that quote and all I get as a result is a link to an ATS page).

Zucker, the former CNN CEO had a consensual relationship with a former employee. That's bad form, if not sexual harassment, and he paid the price. Jeffrey Toobin got caught on Zoom spanking it during a meeting. A very bad look, and he paid the price too. Don't know anything about the rape or pedophilia claims regarding CNN. Do elaborate if you have something.

What I imagine was your favorite cable station until Tucker left had many similar scandals, and also just paid out a $787 million lawsuit for its lies it pushed for months, and there are more lawsuits coming for similar lies. And various Fox employees have been canned for similar reasons, such as Bill O'Reilly and his $32 million sexual harassment lawsuit. Tucker has admitted to lying on TV -- says he does it a lot, and his texts and witnesses show that he is a bigoted, racist and sexist liar. But I'm guessing you still trust Carlson.

Given the fringe right-wing and conspiracy sites often cited here, I'd be really careful throwing stones at CNN for this story. And other news outlets are now reporting this story as well. CNN broke the story, which is why I put it in the forum I did, i.e. MSM Breaking News. You got a thing against MSM, fine, but it gets really tiresome as an argument to dispute any news story that doesn't jive with your world view.

Clearly you have nothing to say to defend Trump regarding this news story, so you stoop to attacking the source, which I acknowledge is a lot more grown-up than what most of the rest of your fellow travelers are doing in this thread. However, when I challenge stories you and others here put forth, I don't bother with attacking the source, even though some are really hinky, I just use the text of the source, and where they got their information, and how you or others have even mischaracterized what was written in the first place.

CNN reported information that came out of grand jury testimony. Could they be making it up? I guess, but not very likely. Let's just see what becomes of this several months down the line.

By the way, I am curious how you feel about the probity of the US military, compared to CNN. They have plenty of murderers, rapists, sexual harassers and pedophiles. In fact:

The single largest category of inmates in military prisons are child sex offenders

I realize that if I get nothing other than personal attacks, deflections, or whataboutisms from my ideological opponents, then they obviously have nothing of worth to say on the matter, and cannot reasonably or rationally dispute the OP. Sure, it's a bit of tilting at windmills, but I am going to call out all the bad-faith posts made in this thread. I don't expect to change any opinions, but I do expect people to behave and to engage in legitimate debate. If they can't, I'll call them out as I have been doing.

I created this thread as an experiment. Here was purdee much incontrovertible evidence that Trump has committed some crimes in regard to the Mar-a-Lago documents, and I was curious to see what the reaction was. To say I was surprised by the results would be wrong. I really wanted to see the intellectually bereft right-wing let their freak flag fly, and they most certainly chose to die on this hill proudly waving it.
