Sorry, I said appointed instead of nominated. Interestingly there were only a few Dems who voted against. All GOP voted for him.

If as the FBI states they are willing to work with the committee, however will not release information that maintains confidentiality and protects ongoing investigations or national security that is not good enough? Even the former President agreed to redactions of information in his declassification requests of CFH docs.

Perhaps they are crafting a bill stating that it should be wrong to sell out your country to make your family money and they are using this as a context for the bill.

What other kind of money is there? Corporate money?

Comer admitted that they've found nothing illegal, albeit unethical. The best they can do is legislate against...what? Influence peddling? Lobbying?

Do you think there is anything wrong with a high ranking person in the US taking money from an adversarial nation and offering political decisions that benefit those same nations?

So you submit congress shouldn’t have access to government information?
Congressional Representatives do hold security clearances, are you questioning congressional need to know?

I believe I read they were willing to meet with them regarding this information. It seems as if a public disorganized spectacle as we've seen in these recent meetings with all information, including some that should not be public is not what they're trying to be a part of.

Yes they should have access and it seems as if they were offered the opportunity for access.

Do you think this document exists as described?
If so, what is the remedy?

It’s on.
NBC is reporting the particulars:

Comer subpoenaed the FBI this month for a FD-1023 form that he and Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, claim "describes an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions,” without providing further details. The FBI declined to provide the document, saying that it is bound by Justice Department policy, which “strictly limits when and how confidential human source information can be provided outside of the FBI.”

www.nbcnews.com...

There was also a cbs link earlier in the thread, the msm can’t ignore it anymore.

Hopefully they won't just go along with it. I wonder how much longer the MSM will let the democrats bully them into submission before they finally speak out. If the media was professional and unbiased, they could break apart the left within days. They want clicks? They'd have hundreds of millions if they played their role in bringing down the corruption on the left.

Impeccable credentials can change in the blink of an eye, in case you didn't know. If the FBI is dismantled, we can let law enforcement do what we pay them to do. Let State Troopers handle the big jobs.

Who would have jurisdiction for crimes that cross multiple states? Who would maintain things like CODIS and NDIS and process those requests?

Follow the logic for a moment. If this document is unclassified then there is no confidential information in it! National security they say? That is what the matter is about and the fbi is out of their jurisdiction now. IF this was left alone during the election, we must ask why? National security would have been better served by it being investigated and since it pertains to the potus, the fbi has no grounds to withhold it! What could they do with it? The potus cannot be tried by anyone other than congress once he is in office!

It can work state by state, troopers are based in several regions across each state. The feds can no longer be trusted.

If it's not illegal for a US company to do business with such a country, why should it be illegal for a federal employee to invest in a company doing legal business with such a country? I mean, Trump's family did it, Mitch McConnel's family did it. Mike Pences family did it. Betsy DeVos, anyone? Why should the Biden's be treated differently?

Well, your people went after the former president so why indeed should Biden be treated any differently.

It’s not illegal……if they have the fara paperwork and paid taxes……..
Word on the street is neither was done

Should the fara and tax issues be pursued as rigidly as during mr trumps term?

I didn't say that. I said that's about all Congress could legislate on. But, that would affect more federal employees than the Biden family.

I sure hope I don't hear anymore about Trump, his kids or any of that sh!t.

How about Supreme Court justices, like, oh I don't know, Clarence Thomas?

FARA only applies if the work being done is to promote a foreign country. For example, Vivek Ramaswamy's consultants that just filed as foreign agents die to their work to promote LIV Golf, which is owned by the Saudi royal family.

Selling a product or service to a foreign national does not make somebody a foreign agent. It just makes that person an international businessperson.
