We are excited to share that we have received the FDA’s approval to launch our first-in-human clinical study!
This is the result of incredible work by the Neuralink team in close collaboration with the FDA and represents an important first step that will one day allow our technology to help many people.
Recruitment is not yet open for our clinical trial. We’ll announce more information on this soon!
Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin have developed an artificial intelligence system that can read minds by translating a person's brain activity into a continuous stream of text. The study led by Alexander Huth, an assistant professor of neuroscience and computer science, and Jerry Tang, a doctoral student of computer science, was published Monday in the journal Nature Neuroscience.
The AI system is described as a semantic decoder that relies in part on a transformer model, similar to the ones that power Open AI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard, according to a Monday news release. However, unlike current language decoding systems in development that are invasive—meaning they require surgical implantation—the process is noninvasive. Brain activity is instead measured using a functional resonance imaging (fMRI) scanner following extensive training of the decoder during which participants listened to 16 hours of podcasts inside the scanner.

The Federal Reserve’s forthcoming instant payment service FedNow will be integrated with Metal Blockchain, according to a May 11 announcement from the Metal Blockchain team. The announcement said that the integration will allow Metal users to instantly convert funds to stablecoin and back again using FedNow’s “send/receive” function.
Metal Blockchain is a crypto network developed by Metallicus, based on a fork of Avalanche's code. It was created to offer compliance-friendly options for decentralized finance (DeFi) developers. In the May 11 announcement, Metal developers claimed that the network is “built on the foundation of BSA [Bank Secrecy Act] Compliance,” implying that it has identity verification and Anti-Money Laundering features built in.
Cointelegraph couldn't verify what criteria FedNow will use for integration with the payment system. However, most blockchain networks use pseudonymous addresses as user identities, which means that they could be seen as not complying with the Bank Secrecy Act. This may explain why Metal is one of the first blockchain networks to be listed as a FedNow service provider.
In a conversation with Cointelegraph, Metallicus co-founder and CEO Marshall Hayner said Metal's integration with FedNow could enable the formation of interconnected “bank chains,” creating a larger blockchain ecosystem that is secure and does not rely on oracles. This will allow banks to communicate with each other to process payments and handle settlements while staying connected to the FedNow system.
He stated that the integration will also allow banks to prepare for an eventual central bank digital currency (CBDC), as well as for “bank issued stablecoins that can interact within a basket of stablecoin currencies.”
Ripple, a prominent provider of cross-border payments and open-source distributed ledger technology for financial transactions, may be included among the fintech companies that FedNow will utilize. Additionally, Stellar Lumens (XLM), a blockchain-based payment network that offers a quicker and more cost-effective method for executing global payments, might also be among the companies that FedNow will use.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. accused the former first lady of the US Virgin Islands of aiding Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking in a number of ways, including helping to arrange visas, jobs and travel for some of his victims and assisting him in skirting the territory’s sex-offender monitoring law.
According to the bank, Cecile de Jongh, the wife of former USVI Governor John de Jongh, was Epstein’s “primary conduit for spreading money and influence throughout the USVI government.”
She managed Epstein’s USVI companies, receiving $200,000 in compensation in 2007 alone, and he also paid tuition for her children, JPMorgan contends. She in turn “explicitly advised Epstein on how to buy control of the USVI political class,” the bank said.
According to JPMorgan’s lawyers, de Jongh helped obtain student visas for three young women connected to Epstein, arranging their enrollment in the University of the Virgin Islands. “Perhaps cognizant of the risk in having a registered sex offender sign the letter,” the first lady offered to have someone else to sign letters for the women showing their ability to pay tuition, the bank said.
Epstein donated heavily to USVI politicians and the government itself, according to the filing. That included $30,000 to the campaign of Representative Stacey Plaskett, the USVI’s non-voting delegate to Congress, a $25,000 gift to current Governor Albert Bryan’s inaugural committee and donations to a school library. De Jongh also suggested that Epstein put USVI Senator Celestino White on “some sort of monthly retainer” to get loyalty and access, the filing states.
De Jongh also acted as a conduit between Epstein and the USVI Port Authority, which managed the airport Epstein used.
Sex offender Jeffrey Epstein paid school tuition for the children of then-governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands, whose wife made efforts to secure student visas and a work license for young women connected to Epstein, according to an updated court filing Thursday by JPMorgan Chase.
Those tuition payments, whose duration and amounts were not revealed, allowed then-Gov. John de Jongh Jr. "to funnel additional money to his political campaigns," JPMorgan said in the filing in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
Also visible are allegations related to current Virgin Islands Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. and his immediate predecessor in that office, Kenneth Mapp.
Bryan, who is due to be deposed June 6 in the case, suggested schools to which Epstein should donate $50,000, the filing said. Bryan also asked $30,000 go to the Virgin Islands Little League, according to the document.

this is the first thread I've seen them put their personal opinion in.
THIS is what I have a problem with. Re-titling the thread in this way destroyed the essence of the discussion here. I mean we could just ignore it and carry on but the damage is already done for me. I've lost a lot of respect for the Editor with this move.
Feds have been sniffing around here for decades so I don't feel it has anything to do with that.

My fellow Americans, over the course of the next several days you will undoubtedly realize that we are taking back our great country (the land of the free) from the evil tyrants that wish to do us harm and destroy the last remaining refuge of shining light. On POTUS’ order, we have initiated certain fail-safes that shall safeguard the public from the primary fallout which is slated to occur 11.3 upon the arrest announcement of Mr. Podesta (actionable 11.4). Confirmation (to the public) of what is occurring will then be revealed and will not be openly accepted. Public riots are being organized in serious numbers in an effort to prevent the arrest and capture of more senior public officials. On POTUS’ order, a state of temporary military control will be actioned and special ops carried out. False leaks have been made to retain several within the confines of the United States to prevent extradition and special operator necessity. Rest assured, the safety and well-being of every man, woman, and child of this country is being exhausted in full. However, the atmosphere within the country will unfortunately be divided as so many have fallen for the corrupt and evil narrative that has long been broadcast. We will be initiating the Emergency Broadcast System (EMS) during this time in an effort to provide a direct message (avoiding the fake news) to all citizens. Organizations and/or people that wish to do us harm during this time will be met with swift fury – certain laws have been pre-lifted to provide our great military the necessary authority to handle and conduct these operations (at home and abroad).
A fresh search linked to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in Portugal has ended.
Portuguese authorities said material recovered during the three-day operation around the Arade reservoir in the Algarve would now be analysed.
The German police-led operation was looking for evidence to link the British toddler's disappearance to Christian Brueckner, a German national.

I kind of agree, if the new management wanted to add a disclaimer to the thread title it should have been something like:
-@TH3WH17ERABB17- -Q- Questions ---ASCENSION 43 ("Operation Trust" Disinformation Campaign Repeated) or something along those lines. I feel that Dashen should PM them about the name change.
