All they need is the WILL to go after what they want, if it's allowed by McCarthy. When Pelosi gave the Jan 6th clown car her blessings, they subpoenaed everything in sight...except things Nancy told them to stay away from, because they implicated HER ROLE in the Jan 6th setup.

Uh
All they need to do is block all fbi funding until the fbi director produces the document.
The speaker can actually arrange that.
If they do not, this is another rino farce.

Since the Trump administration, including the FBI and DOJ, refused to comply with subpoenas when the Democrats controlled the House, I don't know why you expect the Biden administration to comply with the Republican House's subpoenas. Your guys created the precedent. Deal with it. I don't much like it either, but the Republicans started this refusing to go before Congress.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Steve Bannon, a longtime ally of former President Donald Trump, was sentenced Friday to serve four months behind bars after defying a subpoena from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

No. I'm saying they have no legislative reason to investigate the Biden family.

What law are they trying to pass?
An individual or entity can become an “agent” even without a contractual relationship or formal agreement with a “foreign principal.”
In order to be an “agent,” an individual or entity must perform one of the following specified FARA-registrable activities within the United States “for or in the interests of” its “foreign principal”:

No. I'm saying they have no legislative reason to investigate the Biden family.
Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is calling on the Justice Department to evaluate whether Hunter and James Biden should have registered as foreign agents for their business arrangements with the Chinese government-back energy company CEFC. The company was actively seeking to build influence in the United States when it partnered with the Bidens.
The Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) is a content-neutral law that promotes transparency by requiring individuals to register with the Justice Department if they are acting as an agent of a foreign government or enterprise to influence U.S. policy or public opinion. In a letter to Attorney General William Barr, Grassley is seeking details on what steps, if any, the Justice Department has taken to determine whether the Bidens complied with FARA.
“When the available evidence is taken as a whole, it is clear that CEFC intended to make inroads in the United States for the purpose of expanding its business and used Hunter Biden and his business associates to help effectuate that intent. In pursuit of its goals, it appears that CEFC may have taken action to influence U.S. policy and public opinion in its favor and gain access to several U.S. politicians in an attempt to curry favor for potential business transactions,” Grassley wrote.

All it would take is enforcing the power of the purse 1 time.
All congressional subpoenas to government agencies would be honored in a timely fashion.
