What is the meaning behind ATS banner ad - 'You thought it was an online game.. Lou Troglodyte'

To me this has "Find the Ring" vibes. Anyone else been around long enough to remember that game? It's how I got hooked on ATS way back when.

We (the ATS community) were collaborating to solve the clues and progress the game. It was an amazing thing to behold, the "crowd-braining" that took place to solve the puzzles, and the story that unfolded as the game progressed.

I've long hoped for a similar game to be run but I honestly don't know if ATS has it in her anymore, not sure that "spirit" still exists.

IF it's a new game, then the clues are before us. The missing quote symbols is a good observation. I've tried running down the links in the other "simon gray" wikipedia entries, but seemed to be a dead end, though admittedly, I didn't look too hard.

It can be a game if you want to play it.
You don't even have to leave your maximum travel area, but a buddy system is of course encouraged.

Good point. Which brings us back to the original point of - who was Simon Grey in the first place?

For me, It really feels like the banner is Darko’s way of telling us we were duped. And if Simon never existed, duped by who, exactly?

Only the horizontal banner on the "new" and "recent" pages point to an Wikipedia article (as it is it points to nothing, as the link has an extra "), the vertical banners on the threads point to an article on the Gulf News site.
