Do the 2024 Elections Even Matter?

Im neither left nor right, I try and look at the issues individually and make up my mind there. Some issues matter greatly to me some don't, but I completely understand others might have different priorities, and that's okay hell Id rather listen to their thoughts than those that just echo mine.

It isn't about agreeing either, it's about learning to have a civil discussion, even on topics, themes, and ideas you may not agree with.

I always like the line from William Hurt in The Big Chill, where he playfully blames his different thoughts now because he was evolving then, and he says he is still evolving now.

I have 100% noticed you’re taking down thread that lean left. There was a thread about the fox new settlement that was only about two pages long. It was incredibly calm and boom. It was gone. Yeah yall definitely have an agenda. Weak.

I would really appreciate if you would bring matters like this to my attention in the form of a question or concern rather than an accusation. I don't move threads around. The ATS Staff does that 100% and the tool they use has the trash bin at the very top and it's easy for a thread to get moved to the trash instead of another forum. It's possible that could have happened or that they moved it to the trash bin for a legitimate reason or it might be in the Pit which I literally just realized I made a mistake with when adding the 2024 Election Forum and type in 184 instead of 134 where the Pit is supposed to go so I'm literally fixing that now.

But I also won't hold back who I am. I don't like the liberal agenda, and every liberal I've made friends with absolutely loves me until they find out that I supported Trump then they stop talking to me because of pressure from their friends. I've always been welcoming of everyone but liberals aren't allowed to associate with people who think differently than them because they're part of a cult and not allowed to think for themselves without their supposed "friends" canceling them. Hell, Wendy's made a 500K donation to BLM and the next day they burned down a Wendy's because a guy who grabbed a cops taser and fired it at him was shot! So they turned around and make a 500K donation to Trump.

So, there is no agenda here but I really don't like the way liberals have acted, cancel culture, normalizing pedophilia, voting for a guy who was trying to stop civil rights legislation, enacting mandatory sentencing against black people so his kids "won't grow up in a racial jungle" and then they (liberals), al while they scream and yell "believe her" but completely dismiss the accusations against Biden, they terrorize cities, burn down people's businesses, and call it "peaceful but fiery protests", but when people are walking in a single file line through in between the red velvet ropes, they call it a "violet insurrection". Not to mention Susan Rosenberg who was a chairwoman for BLM (Buy Large Mansions) was pardoned by Bill Clinton after detonating a bomb in the Capital building.. but that's a "peaceful protest" not a "violent insurrection".

Not to mention grooming children with drag queens, throwing tantrums because Desantis passed a bill that they can't teach kids under 10 about sex ed, have been caught on Libs of Tik Tok over and over again talking about how they groom children in the classroom, audios and videos of liberal teachers freaking out because "how are they going to teach kids what they want them to teach without their parents finding out if they're doing zoom classes", and well, just flat out being horrible two faced, perpetual babies who scream and cry about anything and everything!

Liberals can't even define a woman! So... if you want my views, here you go. But don't come at me with accusations because unlike liberals, my political ideologies are not the only thing I have going for me in my life and they're not what makes up my identify as a person so I could give two #s if someone disagrees with me, I'm not going to treat them any different because of their beliefs, but I take great offense to "baseless claims" (since you like that word so much) and accusations made about me without any attempt what so ever to ascertain the truth.

So I'll look for that thread. I'm 100% sure it's still on the board. But next time, just pose a question. Thank you.

Come on man, if Trump and Biden are truly the best the USA has to offer then we are well and truly up the proverbial without a paddle.

I'm hurtling towards 58 years old and I can honestly say, hand on heart, that Trump is the worst President of The United States I've ever known....or should I say WAS the worst, until Biden came along.

I know I don't live in the States and obviously don't have as intimate knowledge of everyday life there as most on here have but ffs, from where I'm sitting they were/are so blatantly unfit for that Office.

America and Americans deserve so, so much better than the tripe they are getting served up.

We should all demand so much more and better from those who seek to lead and represent us.

lol because I'm not a liberal so I don't do "cancel culture" or try to shut down opposing opinions. The Truth is self-evident so people can post their liberal views all day long without bias from the ATS Staff because at the end of the day, the liberal agenda is paper thin and can be refuted with facts and civility. I've only banned about 4 people who were just flat out disrespectful (to an admin on top of that! so if they're brazen enough to do that then how are they treating other members of the community who are not admins?) and I don't move threads to the trash can either.

As long as it's civil discussion and doesn't promote harming children, or calls for violence, or anything like that, than anything goes as far as I'm concerned because anything false will be shut down with facts which is much more satisfying than closing threads.

Below is why the 2024 Election matters, and yes even if it's rigged. Make these asshats work their butts off trying to cover up the votes, and sell us this crap. Make the numerous exit polls the exact opposite of the end result.

But who I am, I always felt Biden was chosen by the DNC for his pliability and controllability, ever since the Iowa Democratic Caucus

Biden's approval sinks to the LOWEST of his presidency at 37% amid a report White House aides 'struggle to the 80-year-old do events in the morning or evening' because of his age
Biden hits 37% in new Gallup poll on his favorability - a record low
Comes as questions linger about his age - Biden, at 80, is oldest president
New report in Axios has aides saying they struggle to get him to do events in the morning or evening
White House official tells DailyMail.com the 'timing of our specific events is often so to hit broadcast news in the best window

President Joe Biden's approval rating has slipped to the lowest of his presidency as questions about his health continue with a new report claiming aides struggle to get the 80-year-old to do evening or morning events.

Biden's favorability was 37% in a new Gallup poll out this week, the lowest rating Gallup has measured for him to date. He started his presidency at 57% approval rating and had been averaging in the low 40s.

Why does it always seem to consistently come down to a competition between the worst two candidates imaginable?

The race starts off with all sorts of credentialed, capable, caring, and compassionate people, and then somehow they all get eliminated in the process?

Perhaps the process, despite its size and familiarity, is broken?

Good governments require good administrators, not show-people.

Invariably, the 'new-broom' people are spectacular failures and those that work to incrementally improve things are the best, but publicly unspectacular, administrators.

Perhaps, instead of just waving a flag for whoever is offered as a 'candidate', there could be a discussion of what could be improved, and how the improvement might be achieved? Sort of work-shopping ideas for a better future, but without loosing what we have of the good things. The personality politics means nothing.

Agreed 100%! My gripe has always been that the Presidency is a popularity contest rather than who is best person for the job. The sad thing is that people fall for it every 4 years. People rally behind who smiles the best and says the right words. And I don't know how you feel about Trump but imo, I'd rather have a guy who speaks from the heart and has an insult ready to launch who builds a strong economy and runs this country like a business rather than a politician who will fake-smile and say whatever people want to hear based on polling.

I remember listening to him on Hannity "well if Iran tries anything they'd better know not to F___K with us"! I loved it! But as the original post says, now his ideas are WAY over the top and WAY out of line with the values I hold near and dear, which is freedom and capitalism (as opposed to crony capitalism).

And just for anyone who doesn't know the difference: Trump got rid of all the EPA regulations. "Oh no, that's bad for the planet" your heart strings might say when pulled but in actual fact regulations like that are used to ensure the little guy can't get a government contract because they can't afford the millions of dollars of licensing fees that go into obtaining a contract to build a road or highway or whatever.

Likewise, he told China "OK, you don't want to lower the cost of prescription medication, we'll go to India" and insulin went from $1100 a month to $10 a month for the average senior citizen. On Jan 20, 2021 with the stroke of a pen grandma has to go back to paying $1100 because everything Trump did was cancelled without thought, explanation, logic, or attention.

The guy is speaking Tyrannical, I'm not promoting him today, but back then.. someone please tell me how paying $1100 per month for insulin is better than a few "mean tweets"?

One idea would be to break the criminal profitability of recreational drugs, and drugs of dependence.

You would need to make particular drugs available legally under prescription, and hand in hand with that, decriminalize possession of those drugs provided the person can furnish proof of prescription for the exact amount of the drug in possession, or less.

This in one step ensures that the drugs are pure and uncut, are supplied in safe metered doses, are available as cheaply as any normal retail medicine (which breaks the criminal profitability), and allows the use of those drugs to be medically regulated with, hopefully, a plan in place for breaking dependence.

Those drugs then become a medical issue, rather than a profitable and unregulated criminal business.

Of course, illegal supply and manufacture, and possession without prescription would remain prosecutable.

It isn't a perfect solution to drug problems, but I believe it would be better for more people, in the long run, than the current situation, which creates a criminal economy leading to abuse.

The suite of legislation to achieve this would have to be done, in step, at both State and Federal levels in countries where there are separate governing entities (which isn't the case for New Zealand, where I live).

I would love to hear what other think about this idea.

Pre-Darko, it seemed like so long as the site was getting traffic, the site owner(s) didn't even care all that much about what the posters were saying (as long as it wasn't flat-out violent), even if it chased off 90% of the really interesting/insightful potential members...I'm not trying to bash the admins/mods, and in fact, I do not blame them that much, as the site had no leadership that was actively involved with it, and it's totally understandable that without that, being a mod (especially an admin) that's trying their best to make the forum enjoyable for everyone without letting the 10% bad actors ruin it for the 90% was a lot like trying to herd cats.

That's why Darko and I are here and actively engaged on the site, now.

What we're doing is quite literally the opposite of that approach, because we understand that, regardless of the $$$ aspect of things, a site with the former is never going to grow/develop into anything even POTENTIALLY profitable for ANYONE down the line.

We like playing the long game, not the short one

As for our own political opinions, Darko and I don't even always agree, and neither of us sees that as a bad thing: We still have interesting convos w/ one another, without it ever turning into a mud-slinging contest or anything that causes resentment or LT problems. We are looking for members on the forum who are of that same mindset: People don't HAVE to agree with each other on absolutely everything - that's called a "cult", lol.

That ability + the ability to change one's mind due to awareness of new information that shows a different reality + the ability to allow others to have their own without being rude to/bashing them/making them feel uncomfortable and leave are essential qualities that we're hoping will keep joining ATS.

Perhaps my comments were misunderstood. Which means I did not state my position correctly.
I have no problem with you or your partner stating their position. I am certainly in favor of free speech.

Over the time I have spent here, I had multiple exchanges with the site owners (previous and now current) as well as admins and mods, mostly in the positive (in so much as I have not been banned, or even sanctioned). Yes, I've had my off topics, etc.

Perhaps we have a different opinion of the previous owners due to personal experiences on the site. Which is fine. We all craft our opinions on what we see personally.

I am not in disagreement with you or Darko in what we have discussed.
I just suggested from a marketing standpoint (or at least attempted to) having the site owners state a stance, could detract from new members of an opposite view point not want to join up.

I can say, I've seen many folk suggest the moderation is biased on this site. I have never seen that to be true.

Pre Darko, new members could not sign up. So you are already winning.

Just overall, looking at the two of your posts that I've seen, I suspect we would get along.
But that was certainly not why I made the post.

lol I keep hearing this so if that's what people want to think, all the better I suppose. I don't understand where this revenue stream is coming from. Are you seeing something that I'm not? Because I don't even see Google ads. Is there some kind of ATS membership I'm not aware of? Where is this "business" everyone keeps referring to? Because as far as I know, no ones getting paid. I know I'm not. If there is a revenue stream then I want to be paid for what I'm doing! So... tell me what's up with that?

Also, reading back through my post , I don't think I stated anything but facts. Even the notion that "presidents are selected" wasn't an opinion but rather discussing my state of mind my entire life which is a fact, and that it changed, which is a fact. I guess the conclusion in the last paragraph could be taken as opinion but I meant it more as a conclusion of what the future has to bring based on the facts. So I guess, speculation could be opinion but I just wanted to clear up this part up because everything I said was based on facts, with very little onion.

I'll add one more thing. I am indeed a business owner (two actually) and there are some customers I want and customers that I don't want. Relationships are much more important than money, so I treat my customers like family and I also know my target demographic and I know how to spot "problem customers" and when to refuse to provide a service or product to someone. So, maybe that's the vibe you're picking up?? Because there are indeed some people I don't like in my sphere, no matter how much money they offer me.

It's interesting that as the site owner you are giving what I believe to be your honest political opinion.
I understand on ATS, member first and then etc. So no foul.

From a marketing standpoint, it's not a good business model to share opines in general.

Neither here nor there.

I've not actually crossed paths with you enough to say anything about your posting, other that it it seems you are posting your opinion.
Which is fine.

However I never referenced revenue stream. So lets keep this conversation in context. Thank you kindly.

That's because he spent a lot of years as an environmental Lawyer. His idea of climate change is different than the narrative climate change of Al Gore. Kennedy is talking about public pollution, like the kinds that can be tested in a lab and seen with the eyes, think Erin Brockovich type pollution.

With the current stance that the DNC has about no presidential candidate debates, I believe Kennedy will get pushed out. I think he knows this too. That's why I think he's only running so that he can get his message out there and make himself available to Trump as a VP. Trump was after all a good friend of his cousin JFK JR, and both Trump and Kennedy have similar messages about what they are planning on doing.

A spilt ticket with Trump and Kennedy would be a very big powerhouse to deal with for Biden/Harris. I don't think the Trotskyists cheating would go unanswered this time around.

As to answer the thread topic:
"Every Election matters. At the best your candidate wins, and at its worse you can get a reading on how the public views the government."

RFK Jr history is pretty much the same as Al Gore and the progressive left on climate change. RFK JR is a progressive Democrat and not matter how hard people try to white wash the guy's history it's still out there for all to see. I recommend going back and finding him talking about issues on the Ring of Fire Network.

Trump has a history of talking out of both sides of his mouth on any given issue, will say whatever he thinks the crowd wants to hear, can only really talk about an issue on the surface level, doesn't seem to have any convictions on issues, easy to manipulate/lie to, was giving money to Kamala Harris in 2013-14 (when he was supposed to be a Republican), and is no where close to as smart/cunning as his supporters think he is. No one should be surprised with how Trump turned out and their were quite a few people on the right telling others the truth about Trump but were attacked/labeled RINO's for it (I'm not talking about the grifters who claimed to be on the right but once Trump got elected denounced every belief they had and turned into Democrats).

The election is certainly necessary.
I personally believe it will be an historic election, and one that will save this country.
Without a lot of diatribe that adds nothing else to the conversation.
Everyone must figure this out for themselves.
