I'm offended you care about offending people.
On an issue like this what matters is the people who it concerns get their calculations as closely approximating reality as possible.
What you, I, everybody else think on the matter is really just 'entertainment' ie irrelevant.
There are some who care about it not in the least, to those who are deeply involved as a hobby and everything inbetween.
And it's all totally fine. It's one of the perks of living in a society post specialisation: not everybody needs to be an expert on everything.

The truth is how it all really works and nobody knows that at this point in time.
If people are offended that's their problem.
I can't invade other people's life and tell them what to wear (fe) because I hate their style.

Some years ago you would have been put to death.
So I would imagine in some way someone might get offended?
I don't really see how challenging science in this matter would anger others, but this is 2023.
What if the feelings of those people who don't accept the planets go around the sun in elliptical orbits are hurt? And they may get really offended as they have different beliefs.
By the way I don't see why someone can not challenge science. You can challenge anything you want if you have good evidence.

is it inappropriate, discriminatory, or even hateful, to insist planets are orbiting the sun in elliptical orbits?
So you've already upset the Cartographers and now you want to upset the Cosmologists for Orbital Equality?

You said it. If you have good evidence!
Feelings aren't good evidence.
But nowadays they top scientific method.
