Im not getting what part of this is groundbreaking or news?

1. Voting is important. Theres nothing wrong with the Federal Government advertising or pushing the notion of voting in general as long as such advertisements and other marketing multimedia dont clearly endorse any specific candidate.

2. We live in a social media age. Campaingning and marketing are naturally then social media based. Running campaign ads on channel 3 isnt giing tingenerate a response anymore. The currebt economic model if the internet is that its supported by ad revenue and sponsor spots.

This is all par for the course

No wonder so many were hesitant about banning TikTok... I get it now.

weren't all government employees supposed to remove TikTok from their devices?

He is most definitely not the best thing to happen to America.
Hell in my lifetime I haven't had the pleasure of being the citizen under control by anyone that has had our best interests in mind.

well, if all people talk about is Trump, Ole Joey thinks he's doing super. You aren't talking about any of his failures, folks like you are supporting them. Even if you don't think you are.

But he IS the best thing to happen in America in a long time.

I can't speak for your experiences, as your post are always against the grain of the common census, angry and negative. That in itself shows a stressed life filled with hardships and honestly, why would anyone consume your opinions about Trump?

Many of us have listed time and time again why that is the case and y'all just keep coming back with the same exact snide remarks with no basis in fact.

Thanks to Trump, he has revealed a system of corruption festering in our Legal branches and Gov overall. Infact, the recent classified leak is a testiment to this Gov.

I know, it triggers you when someone calla Trump great and it's always going to be that way.

I mean, a President that DONATED his whole check to charities?

Reached out to a dictator and humbled him to the point that he resisted launching missiles during the rest of the Trump Presidency.

Threatening the Taliban leader with a simple image and nothing else to say.

That's my POTUS.

Im reminded of a saying.

"The left can't meme."

Theres some historical truth to that and memes are the Vorpal Sword to propaganda and partisan rhetoric.
So...game on?

It kind of makes me curious to see how many "TikTokers" and "Instagrammers" will get themselves banned or otherwise sanctioned for resisting the effort. Or how many of the "voting doesn't matter' crowd will be amplified as bad examples and spotlighted for abuse in the forum. Or how many lazy one-line "Trump rocks!" posters or memesters will be 'listed' and 'flagged' (and whether the FBI will be notified or take part.)

Hey it's an official "government" operation, and hostility will be met as a 'threat to national security.'

President Biden's not-yet-official bid for re-election will lean on hundreds of social media "influencers" who will tout Biden's record

It doesn’t matter if it’s hundreds or if it’s millions of social media “influencers”, what part of Biden’s “record” will they be touting?
....

They will be touting whatever the uni-polar aligned press reports. Have you read them lately? They will keep repeating the same stuff over and over... because some member of the Nazi party once said something to the effect of "people are all stupid, all you have to do is lie over and over." Which proves the Nazis were equally as stupid as anyone else.

I also find the use of the word "influencers" to be ridiculous. But then if you make them all very pretty, very handsome, vaguely sexy... yeah, they will influence somebody alright. Heaven help us if we don't properly educate our youths about social manipulation.

Judging by how this admin "answers" questions in the actual press briefing room for grown ups-imagine what its going to be like with the tik tokkers in the special room.
I am betting there will be more twerking and selfies than actual questions and briefings.

What is new about this?

Talking heads and paid influencers have been managing the show for years.
That is how Dylan got to be the master trans operator of the moment.

They have proven that we are a bunch of predictable, programable, pawns that they use to their advantage, and as they choose.

Their title says it all. “Influencer”. Some nobody, that we made somebody because they said what we wanted to hear. Providing just the right amount of glue to hold enough of folk together to a lie that they want us to believe.

The only thing that's "news" about this is the announcement that the White house will be directly involved in organizing and materially supporting the activity.

The 'change' is that the nation itself will be bearing the burden of this plan. Also, that despite the restriction against government use of TikTok which - by their nature - support and benefit TikTok, they are doing it anyway. Which seems contradictory if the TikTok empire is one with the Chinese government (who is notorious for 'using' interpersonal communications for social and political control purposes. That's my opinion though, and I respect that you are not surprised at all.

After all, this 'influencer' business has been ongoing in earnest since at least the new millennium.

Will the bots be voting as well? Could be another record breaking election for the dems. Anywho...maybe this will end up being repugnant and drive people away from social media as the partisanship of mainstream media has driven lots of people away from it.

We can slice this up in many ways... I always presumed that the use of 'fake people' for voting purposes is endemic, and not restricted to any single party... only the highest bidder. We'll get lots of chatter out of this eventually... and each comment will get the TikTok enterprise just a little more of what they want, whether it be money or power.

I'm convinced we need separation of social media and state after reading the stuff I been reading the last couple hours.

Why on earth would Democrats be interested in an app like TikTok in the first place?

Make perfect sense, it wasn't lon ago maybe 4 years when I heard or read that things like Twitter and FB were for old people and that teens use Snapchat an Instagram I didn't really process it then.

When I first heard the name TikTok I just assumed it was some kids app because of the infantile name alone.

They can try their dirty tricks all they like. The Dems I talk to don’t like War, they don’t like their kids possibly becoming part of that war, they don’t like paying for war.

They don’t like Fentanyl showing up in their neighborhoods or the crime increase.

They are also not happy about all the price increases. Their kids are moving back home because they can’t make it anymore.

All brought to us by the Biden administration. If this clown gets voted in again, then it’s definitely rigged!

Dirty tricks are all they know. Honesty is contraindicated in campaigning.

And, I'm afraid to admit... it has nearly always been 'rigged.' Both parties have 'stolen' elections before... even participated in what some might consider 'coups.' It's what they live for. I suspect they consider it a measure of "success."

However, my guess is that this will be remembered as that "you have keep your elections if you want to" (but they control the results) moment. I honestly don't think Biden can lose. Machine politics rules the day folks, like it or not.

But hey, y'all can keep on pretending.

Well, to be honest, I think the whole 'voting' thing is a problem that has a fix. Our biggest problem is that the 'parties' don't want it fixed... it's the principle way they can keep it down to two parties...

It's amazing how many of you are disparaging this when the past few elections have been greatly influenced by young voters.

Even ignoring that, how is it any different than the Rock the Vote campaign of the 90s?

This influencing BS from the white house should only be allowed on medias which have age requirements of 18+ (voting age)

Democrats... Just can't keep their hands off the developing ones, and TikTok takes the cake for youngest users.

Real world laws in cyberspace that the government above all can't violate.

HEY teacher... leave those kids alone!

Haven't they done enough damage already?

Thy never rocked the vote, the couldn't figure out how to get in with us back then and Bill playing saxophone on MTV didn't cut it.

It wasn't till widespread internet and post 911 that they started making inroads with propaganda.

Yes, because the news media was supposed to make it seem 'outrageous' and a stroke against 'free speech.' They failed.

Now we'll see the noble government plunge deep into the pool of TikTok... the cynic in me suspects that its purpose is to re-energize the platform, notably the foreign platform. Go figure.

BTW it was "Occupy" that brought the young adults into the fold with things like Zeitgeist and politically charged music festivals featuring Rage Against the Machine ect.

Even music changed, and politics became the underlying theme to these festivals when they used to be secondary themes to the concert weekend/gathering.

They rocked the vote in 08 after 6-8 years building divisions and tensions.. it's all been downhill since.

And they certainly haven't let up with this "vote for people because they'll be the first time in politics" this race/gender/age person held this office.

They won't let go of that one, that's a big winner, straight to the youths psyche.

They can manipulate the "first-timers" too that's why it's always announced like it's something we should all be proud of.

We don't need these first-timers in politics, what's needed is experienced people and qualified people.

Luggage thieves and real-deal racists are driving us all off the cliff.

Just 2 years really put the brakes on 20-25 years of Democrats scheming, it threw such a large stone in the Democrat machine and in that short a time that it now must be stopped at all cost.

It just may be the final battle...
