The Strongest Evidence Yet That an Animal Started the Pandemic ⁦@TheAtlantic
⁩ I remain baffled why any other theory has credibility? The reason we began a coronavirus vaccine program was bc of SARS 2002 and MERS 2012 and realized crap a 3rd is coming

The Strongest Evidence Yet That an Animal Started the Pandemic, by Katherine J. Wu
A new analysis of genetic samples from China appears to link the pandemic’s origin to raccoon dogs.

It seems obvious to me that the mammal guilty of starting the COVID-19 pandemic was a human.

a reply to: Uphill ---- from the above WHO press conference, just concluded today, the following excerpted paragraph points out the COVID-19 pandemic new science findings:

"The results that have been presented to us and have been presented to SAGO, we already knew that there were environmental samples from Huanan market that tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. That was information that became available last year.
This more detailed analysis really takes a deeper dive into the available information and the metadata that is associated with these sequences and doing some metagenomics work. It’s very detailed work of looking at DNA within those samples as well.
What the updated results that were presented to us suggest and, again, these were results that have been presented to us by international researchers who downloaded that data was, number one, that there is molecular evidence that animals were sold at the Huanan market, and that is new information. And, secondly, that those animals, that the DNA that was identified include a number of different animals, including these raccoon dogs. And from other studies we know that raccoon dogs are susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 infection.
00:21:35
So, we need to make clear that the virus has not been identified in an animal in the market or in animal samples from the market, nor have we actually found the animals that infected humans. What this does is provides clues. It provides clues to help us understand what may have happened.
One of the big pieces of information that we do not have at the present time are the source of where these animals came from. Were these animals traded? Were they the wild animals or domestic animals? Were they farmed? Where were they farmed?
We have repeatedly asked for studies to be done in other markets in Wuhan and in Hubei and across China. We have repeatedly asked for studies to trace those animals back to their source farms so that we can go back in time and actually look to see where the animals came from and if any testing had been done."

trying to deflect blame, using racism again.

did anyone else who looked at the bit of article notice something interesting? notice the name of the author. which is Katherine J. Wu, which rather seems to be a rather Chinese name. which leads to the question of do they have any vested reason for lying? sadly, thanks to the way the Chinese communists operate, has to cast serious doubt on the veracity of things to do with China, from a likely Chinese descendant. because the Chinese government, is well known for blackmailing those of Chinese decent, to do their bidding. heck the even have illegal "Chinese police stations" in North America, used to help do so. seriously i get a lot of "Chinese scam phone calls", which is one way the Chinese government finds those of Chinese decent and to start the blackmail process, some friends of mine get their Chinese spam, to do the same, over their email. and that is, if the author is not actually a Chinese spy in the first place. as we also know China plants spies everywhere, especially in manufacturing, science and technology. and unfortunately knowing all of this, it becomes hard to be able to trust any Chinese because of those issues, when we know damned well China very likely has something to hide.

in fact my only real question about how the pandemic started, is if it was accidental, intentional, or even a combination of both. not a "farmers market", or from eating any "wild game". calling it a "wet market" (even though that is what they call a farmer's market), and calling "wild game", "bush meat", is using racism to push their agenda. because there is no real difference between a "wet market" and farmer's market. and no real difference between wild game, like squirrel or venison and "bush meat", like monkey, snake, or bat. but by using what we have turned into derogatory and in it's usage, racist names instead, as those racially used names conjure up visions of the unsanitary, (just more racism to use). and we all saw the results of that government racism (sadly at first both by democrats and Republicans (although at least the Republicans mainly jumped off of that racist ship rather early on), just like the liberals in Canada, pushing those racist ideas). and we all saw the result of that racism the governments caused, all over the world. spreading anti Asian hate, in countries like the US and Canada, and in Asia, where people can pretty much tell who is descended from what country, it was just anti Chinese hate. causing much abuse, and many assaults. all caused by the hate the governments created and pushed against the Chinese/Asians, through their trying to put the blame on eating wild game, and shopping at farmer;s markets, by using that racist usage of foreign terms for those things. as a cover up for what could easily have been an actual attack, by the Chinese, using a biological weapon.

a reply to: ColeYounger --- I agree with you that some of the more recent reporting in The Atlantic magazine on the COVID-19 pandemic has been unimpressive, and in some cases clearly wrong, mainly in articles written by this same Katherine Wu. But she's now finally on the track of some important new pandemic information, which is why in the last 20 minutes, publishers such as the New York Times, Bloomberg, NBC News and others are reporting this story as well.

Edit: Also now the Dallas Morning News, National Public Radio, and a bunch of others.

a reply to: Uphill ---- also on Twitter, see the recent tweets from @PhilippMarkolin, especially the one marked NEW EVIDENCE #zoonosis ..... Chinese researchers (who have had troubles getting data out) finally managed to sneak upload full #sequencing data from environmental swaps at Huanan market. Show: co-occurance of animal sequences with SARS-CoV-2 RNA.

I wonder how the racoon dog inserted the gp120 aids protein sequences, or the furin cleavage site on the ace2 receptors. That's a clever dog.

Again with no pangolin. Why does everyone hate on the pangolin?
