It's pedantic.

Not really. It's an important distinction, not an arbitrary rule.

You're the one who keeps bringing it up. I made one comment and explained that comment, ages ago. I never mentioned it once afterward, except in response to your goading.

If that was pedantic, then, you're argumentative.

So besides Russian you're not sure who else is threatening European stability? Is it Andorra? Maybe San Marino? Take a shot.

I'll take a shot and say Ukraine, thanks.

When you invade multiple neighbors over the past couple of decades and take their sovereign territory, you're the crocodile. But they just need some breathing room.

Sure, let me know when they do it to a NATO member nation.

And? Better that than pedantry.

Odd since nearly all of Europe doesn't think so based on their overwhelming support for Ukraine. They rightly see Russia as the threat.

Sure, let me know when they do it to a NATO member nation.

They're apparently not stupid enough to do that which reinforces the reasons why countries not in NATO want to join NATO. You kind of proved my whole point with this.

You're still on about this?

Whatever. If I was being pedantic, it would be me going on and on about the one statement, that was/wasn't factual, and not you.

So, you're both, pedantic AND argumentative, like an old Ukrainian trying to send soup back at the deli

Yes, I know. Scared of the boogeyman.

All pumped up by BS from our/their governments and MSM.

Most of Europe also believe Russia is getting their ass handed to them in Ukraine.

It isn't both, Russia is capable of taking over Europe, or Russia can't even handle Ukraine. One of those things is a lie. Which one? I don't care.

That didn't prove any point about Ukraine though, did it? Actually, kind of proves my point, that if you're NOT in NATO, it shouldn't and (obviously by Russia's actions), doesn't count.

I think we're well on our way to WWIII, and I don't place all the blame on any one country. We need to look in the mirror IMO.

Our opinions differ on the matter, that's all.

Mine isn't changing.

Yours?

The Boogeyman isn't real, Russia's invasions of multiple neighbors is very real.

They've certainly not achieved any of their frequently-revised military objectives.

Without support from Western democracies Ukraine would have suffered the same fate as Russia's previous conquests of the past two decades.

It means your fair game for Russia. If Ukraine was in NATO they would not have been attacked. It 100% proves the point.

My stance is very simple and hasn't changed since day one.

If Russia so much as breathes heavily on a NATO member, then, annihilate them.

Until then, it's just an opportunity to feed the MIC and hide Biden's (and who knows who else's) corruption, while everybody EXCEPT the Ukrainian people, benefit.

I don't trust our governments, and I certainly don't think we're involving ourselves to "help" anyone. That ship sailed a long time ago iMO.

Maybe if they (governments) weren't running a 24/7 clown show, I'd trust what they say.

As far as individual countries? Do what you want, my only gripe is about NATO.

NATO as a group hasn't done anything so your 'gripe', such as it is, amounts to not much of anything.

Perfect. Nothing left to talk about then I reckon.

Similar to all your scenarios about Russia? Same thing, doesn't amount and hasn't amounted to much of anything.

We'll see if it stays that way.

I'll bet you 2 of my jumbo eggs versus $100 Canadian, which is currently about the same value, that NATO does not put personnel into Ukraine.

What are my 'scenarios about Russia'? Quote them so I can reply.

No thanks, I raise chickens, remember? I produce my own feed too, so I haven't been having any problems with production.

LOL I use Canadian Tire money, exclusively.
It's worth more than CAD

Well, the main one I was talking about is fearing Russia could invade Europe. That's cold war mentality IMO.

I've compiled both statements into one quote:

Odd since nearly all of Europe doesn't think so based on their overwhelming support for Ukraine. They rightly see Russia as the threat.

Tell that to Finland and Sweden as well as the Baltic states who think otherwise. They've seen this Russian dog and pony show before.

I don't think there'll ever be much of anything with Russia invading anywhere else in Europe any time soon, if ever. That's not a realistic scenario IMO.

I think NATO getting involved is more realistic, whether officially or not, whether they put boots in Ukraine or not, too.

News flash: Ukraine is part of Europe, Russia invaded it, this isn't a scenario, it's a reality. There are several other countries Putin invaded that are considered part of Europe.

I qualified that statement by saying "anywhere else in Europe".

What other countries apply to this conversation? Are we going back to the cold war? Unlikely scenario IMO.

It's amazing how many on the right seem to love or defend Russia.

It used to be the left mainly ( and still does) who defended Russia, and the right was anti-Russia.
Strange.

And it all seemed to happen after the 2017 election…umm.

Its amazing how some cant comprehend nuance and historical context. Or at least compose an argument on why someone should support Ukraine....

Instead, they opt for the easy, ignorant and cowardly road of a false dichotomy and assume some sort of virtuous position.

How come all the traditional lefties are suddenly pro war, govt and big pharma........?

This alliance will not be good for anyone, due to the way the "west" will react.

Chinese leader Xi Jinping is preparing to visit Moscow, for a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the coming months.

Obviously Finland and Sweden were concerned, hence their petition to join NATO. I would add Moldova to the list since they are concerned about Russians fomenting further instability within their country.

Yes.

Too obvious.

Why won't they let Ukraine join?

That should be the obvious thing. I mean, if the interest was really in helping the Uke's.

They applied after they were invaded, processing the applications are not instant and they are still at war.

Who's doing the processing the DMV?

The 30 NATO members who need to put all applications before their respective governments.

I'm sure if this was rammed home with minimal review there'd be similar asinine questions about why they weren't properly vetted.

Yea, that was a joke not a question btw, lol.

There's no question considered asinine when we're talking about potential WWIII, IMO.

Maybe people SHOULD be asking more of what you consider "asinine" questions, instead of lapping up what the government and MSM tell them.
